Dear Oblige

Day 2,115, 18:08 Published in USA USA by Melissa Rose

It's a well know fact (because I don't hide it) that I actually like you. That fact has hurt me some but I never worried about it, because I am the type of person that is honest with what I think about people. So I'm going to be completely honest with you. After watching you over the last week, reading your answers in the WHPR and listening to the debate, you seem burnt and a bit disinterested.

Your answers in the WHPR came off as half hearted, as if you didn’t care for, or take the time to fully address the questions being asked. In the debate your attention was elsewhere and you seemed distant and not fully engaged.

I have serious concern that this upcoming month will equate to your Cabinet running the eUS for you. You come off as not wanting to work for it. As if it is owed to you and something that you deserve to have. You seem to believe that the people of the eUS should just give it to you because you are "Oblige".

You've done this before, and you've burnt out before.

I've defended you for the last month, to people critical of you, because I thought you were doing an okay job. While that opinion has cost me, it doesn't change the fact that it is true. But, if you win, I am worried about your next term. I wonder if you truly want this job to benefit the eUS or just because you can.

Truth is you don't seem to actually care about the country other than what it can do for you.

The entire reason I haven’t publicly supported anyone in this race is because I am a part of the WHPR staff and I didn't believe that it was appropriate to support any one candidate. I felt it would reflect poorly on the SecMed and I just didn't want to do that, but I doubt I will have a job after publishing this so I'm just going to be blunt.

You need to quit while you’re ahead. You hurt the country when you remain in office after you get burnt. Your seemingly disinterested attitude bleeds out into everything you do. You don't "deserve" this, it is not owed to you. You have to earn it and while you have done an okay job over the past month your attitude has hurt you.

I sincerely hope I am wrong in my assessment, but I don't believe I am.

Thanks for pointing out VT. I'm trully honored that you spent time evaluating my hostility rather than spending time to help the country and actually contribute. I guess that would be expecting too much from you, right? XD

Oblige's arrogance in some aspects has cost him a lot. I do agree with every word on this article.

Regrettably, the Party Presidents who endorsed him didn't get your point.

G.Bot Day 2,116, 01:26

Being President during a war is a difficult and arduous task.

Rose, your assessment is probably accurate, but it may have been better confided directly to Oblige prior to his decision to run again.

I'm a loyal Fed and a member of EZC so the decision to vote for bigcdizzle was an eazy one.

I say that onyl to show that I'm not an Oblige loyalist.

Your comments seem justified and heartfelt, but their presentation in this manner appears to be politically motivated rather than good of the eUSA motivated.

The Rohirrim
The Rohirrim Day 2,116, 01:33

Oblige is not perfect but it's still the best!

EnterAwesome Day 2,116, 03:42

I really like Oblige, too, but I agree with this. Oblige wants to run 3 months in a row but already it seemed to me that he was just doing it because he was "Oblige" and not really for eUSA and its only round 2.

I have to admit, I think BigC is a better choice then Oblige but not by much... The way oblige spoke in the debate felt like he was alienating the Feds and trying to make them public enemy #1. Presidents should try to pull the country through with community, not doing the opposite.

I don't know... I'm just a teenage girl so what do I know.

Jefferson Locke
Jefferson Locke Day 2,116, 04:48

I do agree with this, and have said as much to Oblige and others that are around him. Oblige has done some good this month, and some bleh this month. With that said, if he wins re-election, I hope that he does well, and that he is motivated to have a strong second month.

Hopefully he will understand that a third month isn't guaranteed.

Oblige Day 2,116, 05:46

It is interesting as to what sort of metrics people use to judge Presidential success. Apparently I will have to add "WHPR interview questions" to the list of things that you need to do "seriously" in order to be a good President.

I couldn't disagree with your sentiment more Melissa, nor the way you chose to express it.

The amount of bitterness coming from the Fed Party is truly disheartening; it's as if because you failed to produce a viable Presidential candidate of your own, all others must be declared "failures." I am disappoint.

Tyler Bubblar
Tyler Bubblar Day 2,116, 07:27

Yes Melissa, it's very disappointing that you would publish a heartfelt article about your concerns. Our "savior" is displeased! Shame! Shame!

rainy sunday
rainy sunday Day 2,116, 07:33

Firstly, to include criticism of the Feds in your response to an individual who has mentioned neither her party nor her party's candidate in her *very personal* article is pretty petty on your part. Neither she nor they deserve that treatment.

Next, I'd like you to take a moment and carefully reread what she's written here. Despite it being published in media there is valid substance here. Consider exactly how you present yourself and how you treat those who work to support you.

Finally, congrats on your re-election. I expect to find the return of a leader who values respect given and received.

AlexJ1890 Day 2,116, 07:36

When you don't seem interested in campaigning and try to go around the system by attempting to get any other candidates to withdraw so you can win, it sure seems like you're burnt out or just too lazy to put in the work.

RaccoonGoon Day 2,116, 11:28

Now, Oblige, whether there's bitterness from the Feds or not, I don't think you should lump this in with that. MR just voiced an honest concern. Being CP is hard, and she's just afraid you could burn yourself out.

Honestly, I hope that is wrong (as Melissa said that she hopes she's wrong too), and for what it's worth, I think you'll be fine with at least one more term (I surely hope you will be, because realistically, you're probably winning today regardless).

Oblige Day 2,116, 11:48

1.) The vast majority of the comments coming from Fed Party members (in agreement) make it look like a party coordinated effort whether it is or not.
2.) There is no such thing as a "very personal" article for interpersonal communication - especially when you buy votes for it.
3.) The fact that neither Tyler nor BigC were viable candidates and I treated them thusly does not make me a "lazy campaigner"

AlexJ1890 Day 2,116, 12:37

1. The only thing it shows is that we're in agreement. There is no coordinated "anti Oblige" theme going. We just see through your bs 99% of the time.

2. It is personal and I bought the votes. Melissa did not ask me to, I did it because I feel this needs to be seen by more than a handful of people.

3. Except that bigc is a viable candidate and you treating him as less does in fact make you lazy. He's as much a part of this country as you, and he has run a clean campaign. Your saying that he's less of a candidate because he doesn't have as much experience is ridiculous.

Jefferson Locke
Jefferson Locke Day 2,116, 12:49

Party coordinated....I lol'ed. In all seriousness Oblige, you know that I've expressed the same concerns. While I can understand defending yourself, because God knows I would as well, I think that her intentions are being blown out of proportion.

I will agree that she could have come to you first. With that said, just because she didn't does not make her concerns less valid.

Melissa is someone that has taken up for you numerous times, and I honestly don't believe that her concerns are meant as a personal or political attack. I think that she is just hoping that you will prove her wrong, as am I.

You have the potential to be an AMAZING CP. I personally want you to succeed for the overall interest of the nation. You changing your avatar helped me like you a little bit more 😛

Melissa Rose
Melissa Rose Day 2,116, 13:16

1 no one aside from custer knew I was gonna post it
2. I didn't want votes bought
3. I am saddened by the fact that you have missed the point entirely. It doesn't matter where I posted this. You would have ignored it. Or assumed it was just another fed. The fact that you can't look past my party and see the other posts agreeing with me shows me that you won't listen

rainy sunday
rainy sunday Day 2,116, 13:31

Dear Oblige,
I am not now nor have I ever been a Fed. Show a bit of gratitude and dignity and stop being a twat. I still love you. Go be great.

kindest regards,

p.s. This is a *very personal* message.

RaccoonGoon Day 2,116, 15:55

1) I'll give you this much, although I do think what MR had to say is an honest concern, and not every person with the concern is a Fed (I'm not).

2) I'll agree with this too; however. as MR said, she had no desire for this to have votes bought, and knowing her, I imagine that this has gotten blown up into proportions she never intended.

3) Whether or not they're viable candidates is arguable, and in fact, that's the point of the whole election, isn't it? And no, it doesn't make you a lazy campaigner, but what it does make you is cocky. Oblige, you have a lot of self-confidence and a large ego (some might even say it's whale-sized), and sometimes that's a good thing (a leader has to be unafraid to wield power), but oftentimes, that alienates people from you. In essence, that's what's happened to a lot of the Federalist Party. Let's take what you said, "Neither Tyler nor BigC were viable candidates." Putting aside whether or not that's true, how do you think that looks to people? That's almost an admission that you've been running this election like it's already won, isn't it? Really, it may be done already, I'm not going to argue about that, but to say that implies you lack some respect for your opposition. If anything, that's what concerns me about you sometimes. You're a good leader. You outperformed my expectations after I asked you some hard questions last month, and I already voted for you today, but I wonder, are you as good as you can be?

Right now, I don't think you are, since I think you're underestimating your opposition and letting your ego get a bit too big. What I want to see is real unity. Respect and engage all those who disagree with you. Do it without preconceptions, and do it aggressively. Deflate your ego a bit, and if others will do the same, you have the potential to have a second (sixth?) term that can be better than all the others. Do it. Be awesome. You the have potential for it, so show it to everyone.

Dr. Strangeclock
Dr. Strangeclock Day 2,116, 06:11

superb article, just in time!!
truth is that throughout this month i was convinced that i will vote this time Oblige, but because of the mentioned facts above, i shall not do so!!
especially that last week is the week that i am getting so much annoyed of, as we only watch how the Polaks take our territories!! does any of our President Candidates see this? most probably so, and i am suspecting that they are staying put, until the finish of elections to start and regain our territories!! so yeah, i think this is intentional!~

Oblige Day 2,116, 07:11

Dr. Strangelove - it's not intentional but rather how the campaigns played out. Obviously we want to take our regions back from Poland ASAP but it takes some planning to take down such a major country. Right now we are supporting our allies in France, Croatia and Italy against Slovenia, but rest assured we will be tackling Poland soon.

Tenshibo Day 2,116, 07:35

I stopped reading after you said that Oblige's cabinet would run things for him. BigC has no military experience, no foreign experience, none of that. He doesn't know people in CoT, he doesn't know people in allied countries, he simply doesn't know, and hasn't done anything. If BigC were to win, then his cabinet would run the eUS for him.

Melissa Rose
Melissa Rose Day 2,116, 09:05

Both your time and Pauls time as cp sucked so badly that anyone would have been better. This has nothing to do with BigC and everything to do with Oblige wanting a 3rd term when he is already showing signs of burn out. He needs to stop at 2

Tenshibo Day 2,116, 09:26

I'm nt sure what Paul and I being shit CPs has to do with BigC being under qualified.
And, if you say anyone would've done better, maybe we should've justly Ajay win.

Wild Owl
Wild Owl Day 2,116, 10:57

Melissa Rose
Melissa Rose Day 2,116, 11:38

Oh and your right. It has nothing to do with your term. I just felt like saying it 😛

rainy sunday
rainy sunday Day 2,116, 09:03

Melissa Rose,
while I absolutely appreciate sincerity and bluntness, this really comes across as neither of those. You should have sent these concerns directly to Oblige and not published as a sensational article if your concern is genuine. There is a time and place, this may be the time but definitely not the place unless your goal was to have your motives questioned and be dismissed offhandedly.
