Most of us have shared a fear that coinciding with Poland's wipe of our nation, the upcoming congress elections would have been cancelled.
This is NOT TRUE
Congress elections will in fact take place. This is due to a vastly overlooked rule, partly due to the fact that we haven't been wiped recently (2 years), that we are able to have a congress election if we have at least one region part of our country 2 hours after midnight eRepublik time. The quote taken from the eRepublik wiki explains it clearly:
"The Countries that have at least 1 region on every 23rd of the month at 02:00 will be the ones able to have Congress candidates."
Reassuring is it not? If we had not been able to elect a congress, It would have even been more difficult to retake eCanada and reverse the wipe. We might have had to resort to charging them on mooseback and using Hockey sticks as jousting poles.
No need to take out our special artillery, though, and Poland will be driven off. It looks as if all will be all right. If you don't count getting wiped.
Things do have a way of going well for us eCanadians.

I hope to see a good congress aswell. This month's congress voted in a NE with Spain when Poland had just put us as their NE. Most of our battles are lost 52-48. That edge is what is destroying us. That was a stupid decision on our part.
It could very well have been a recent addition by Plato to save other countries, like Romania. After all, I've never noticed this before. I was only alerted to it by a shout from the Brazilian CP, who was unaware.
Plus, 2:00 eRep time on the 23rd is oddly specific and seems very suspicious to me....
Probably to allow a certain amount of time for people to sign up from a home region and be safe.
It has been added recenly to rescue Romania congress. Not everyone is equal in this game...
Whatever the cause, It benefited us so I'm happy.

As Funky said we dont have a congress, that sentence from wiki meant that we will be able to throw congress election, but nothing more.

We were allowed Congress Candidates, the keyword being "candidates"
However, at the time the election process began we had no regions, so the result would be no congress
We now have a dictation system... Dont abuse it! 😛

So what happens as we regain regions? Are we done for the month? Seems strange to have a rule that allows us to vote for no reason.
Its almost like Plato is being a dick and teasing us with the congress election results being there.
