Congress elections

Day 1,800, 05:20 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by Firebourne

First and foremost, I would like to wish good luck to all who are competing in the elections tomorrow.

Now, before I proceed, I feel the need to inform all of you about the changes that has taken place with the congress module. I believe most of you would have forgotten about it.

From now on, what will happen is that, when you vote, you are going to vote for the party, no longer for the candidate. That's why tomorrow, on the voting page, you will only see the Party to vote for, not the candidate.

What happens is that, the total votes a party gets, will reflect the number of congress seats that party gets. So meaning that, if there's 10 congress seats available and if one party receives 50 votes out of 100 votes, then, that party will receive 5 congress seats. It is basically the "proportional" system, the eRepublik version of course.

So how do parties decide on the candidates?

Today, all political party leaders, will have the ability to decide the priority of their candidates. Meaning that, if the party wins 5 congress seats, then, the top 5 candidates on the list prioritized by the party president will be the congressmen. The other candidates will not make it. The same will apply to the other political parties as well, depending on their total votes.

So to all party president, do prioritize your congress list of candidates today, before the elections tomorrow to avoid internal conflicts. To the candidates, do campaign for your party instead of yourself since voters will decide on the party's list of candidates, rather than the candidates themselves.

Regards and good luck.
