Comm-Link #002

Day 4,144, 15:35 Published in Ireland Ireland by Kaitlinn

Notes of Dr Allison Payne: They say if something sounds too good to be true it usually is. I was foolish and fell for smooth talking Dr Fogarthy’s lies. And actually flirted with that monster second in command of his Captain Petrov after repairing the likely earned damage someone did to him. I hear talk of rebels the Rasa Blank who I will try to find and get away from here to help along with Dr Macallastair if I can get him out of the cage. This is my story.

Goshawk Labs, Ramat haGolan, Israel

Dr Fogarthy has suggested I use this comm-link to keep track of my research and so hear I go.

Who would have thought a girl from Pofadder would end up at a place like this. The complex is massive with so much going on. And I’m to lead a big project on my own here.

The lab is even better than I expected full of equipment and staff to help me with my work. I never expected this when I was invited to Goshawk to head up the bionics division after he found out about my work at Tuks.

With a few adjustments my nanobots have replaced those outdated metallic chips that were created by Dr Macallistair. They repair the damage caused and work better, although they do have a limit of 3 weeks life which means they have to be replaced every couple of weeks. But Dr Fogarthy is very happy with the non existant side affects and says thats not a problem as they can be replaced by technicians in the field.

I have also set them to work to treat soldiers for wounds and scars and it pleases me so much to see them come in all hurting and traumitised and leave smiling and laughing.

He did request me to insert a program of his into a chip which went into a young soldier Sean Murphy who came in with a badly wounded soldier. Which I did as he assured me it will have no ill side affects to Sean.

The other soldier Captain Petrov was a not so easy case.

He came to me in a coma like state. I soon found out that it was a side effect of the type-2 chip in his head. With the use of my nanobots I removed it and replaced it with the type-3, but the damage was so severe it took longer than the ones I did before.

I kept him in a coma while I attended to the rest of his injuries. The wounds and scars were easy fixes the nanobots did that in a few hours.

The leg stump I had to shorten further as gangerene was setting in due to the poor condition of it. Who worked on it did a really poor job. Just cauterised and left it to heal by itself. The nanobots fortunately managed to repair the nerve damage and I could attach one of my prototype bionic legs to it. Seems to be working fine, but he will need to come back to get an upgrade at a later date.

The eye was a problem. Looked like someone had been trying to stir its contents and had damaged the optic nerve. Hard as I tried the best I could do was insert some bionics. But the optic nerve damage was too much and there was only 10% vision in it. Basically only dark shadows could be seen out of it. Fortunately the optic nerve in the socket of the other eye was almost whole and with my nanobots I could repair the damage. One of my prototype bionic eyes fused with it no problem and probably gives better sight than the original. Did attempt to match his natural eye coloring on it. Unfortunately he will have to wear an eye patch as the damaged eye puts him off balance if left uncovered.

Once done I woke him up completely and a shiver ran down my spine as I saw devils eyes looking back at me. Before I realised it was the light shining on the bionic components.

After a few hours steadying him on his feet and showing him how to use his new leg, I escorted him to his office. He gave me a tight nod of thanks before walking over to his desk and phoning a Dr Macallistair to come to his office for a coffee and chat.

A few hours later Dr Macallistair was brought down to the lab in a terrible mess, looked like someone had taken a meat cleaver to him, fortunately he had lost consciousness . Petrov was following not far behind. “Get him fixed up, I’ll be waiting outside!” he barked.

I stared after him in shock. One of my lab assistants turned to me and said “You better do what he says unless you want the same treatment. He expects to be obeyed without question!”

I worked to repair the damage as slow as I dared while keeping Macallistair sedated. I could hear Petrov stomping up and down impatiently outside. The scared pleading look Macallistair gave me when I was done made me feel sick. But I had no choice but to give him over to Petrov the monster! The bliksem will be back with him sometime expecting me to do the same again and I don’t know what I will do as this is too much for me to handle.
