BigAnt, Sirius and Woldy, an interview with FightAndProduce!

Day 2,424, 07:08 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by SirRoman
Today I present to you a interview I did, with none other than FightandProduce, one of the most famed eUKers around.

First off, thank you for joining my readers and myself!

No problem, pleasure to be here

So first off, would you care to tell us a bit about yourself and your Erepublik career.

I'm english, a self professed computer whiz kid and a committed eRepublik citizen, I started off in the eUK as a nothing. I was recruited by a guy named myheadstone (who has long since left eRep) to WRP, I remember making a statement about recruitment and I quite quickly got Spokesperson for the party, a title which I had for a long time afterwards. BigAnt was in power at the time and an election came up, but I was new and had completely missed the election date (stupid me!) and I couldn't really even get into cabinet as a deputy, so I contacted Sir Nick Griffin and blagged a spot as a ambassador to Indonesia, it was my first actual role in government and a very small one at that. I did one interview and added a bunch of people who I still haven't removed to this day. After 2 terms of that I did some NHS work, became PP for the first time and eventually got into home affairs as a deputy to the great Cygnus X1. I worked with him for almost 3 months, on my third month he had resigned. Ayame Crocodile (The CP at the time) gave me my first actual ministerial position as MoHA, I did okay and after that I continued to do MoHA work, either as a minister, a deputy or even just a guy in a mass message submitting one article to MoHA for that month. I was getting into cabinet almost every month and then I got vCP. I started then getting involved in foreign affairs and I remember upon applying to one cabinet I only wanted deputy, I was offered the full blown MoFA position and took it, allegedly I didn't do too bad of a job!

Great! So if I said you are one of the most experienced players we have here in the eUK, no one could disagree.
Let's talk about the current events in our country, what are your views on the last election?

So much to talk about with this election. Firstly, it was a close one, a lot of us campaigned hard and managed to bring in the votes. Moriarty is a great guy, and he was lucky to get the votes he did. Unfortunately due to other candidates votes were potentially lost for Moriarty. It's kind of sucky but that's just how it is with party ballots, if you give everyone democracy they're going to choose someone a bit stupid every so often. There was definitely a Serbian part to this election. BigAnt wouldn't have won without the people he let in, and it should show him that there is genuine opposition out there. I think some people did vote for him for his experience and his promises. Very few of which have come to
fruition, such as the 7th of July referendum and the MoHA republishing useful guides for new players.

Do you believe that these 12 deciding votes came from perhaps, unsavoury sources? As you say, Serbs?

Definitely, no doubt in my mind that they came from these places, are we supposed to assume that he let in Serbian players who voted UROSZero, Rodney, Vault Guy or Moriarty? Very very unlikely.

Do you think that Moriarty's loss is down to people like Jockson and Rodson splitting the vote even though they knew they had 0 chance of winning?

Split right down the middle.

I think the Jockson party candidate split the vote and Vault Guy split the vote, I actually think that Rodney's 'Vote Moriarty' avatar which appeared on the voting page was a nod to the 2 clickers and may have done more to help than to hinder. It may have definitely brought in a few 2 clickers who wouldn't have thought of voting Moriarty.

And do you think Jockson and Vault Guy coordinated with BA to make sure he will win the election by splitting it? BA did make deals with loads of people to secure him his CP seat.

Nope, I don't think so. Neither had anything to gain and I think BA was confident of victory without them having to run. BA did make deals with a lot of people (even me) to try and secure votes. He offered 3 people that I know of including myself positions in Team Rocket before it went down, I don't think that there is a co-incidence there.

Then why where they so dumb to run? They had zero chance of winning, we all know that. They lost the election for Prof, and in doing that gave us a month of BA.

I think UROSZero would've run with or without BA running. VG wanted to be the opposition and since he showed he wanted to he had to be put on WRP ballot. The members voted for him to have official support. Of course I voted for Moriarty in the ballot. It's unfortunate but democracy doesn't always go your way.

So, thoughts on BA's cabinet?

MoD is inexperienced, but I'm fine with them, they are actually doing a good job and they've got a great ex-MoD helping them out (Sambo911). MoFA is okay I suppose, NWG won't wreck the country and piss everyone off, which is a key part of the job. As far as vCP's go, I'm fine with AW. Very experienced and knows how to get things done. Dapper on the other hand is so inexperienced for such a role and will probably do nothing more than lick BigAnt's boots. All I've seen from him is a mass message where he doesn't change the name to the name of the person he's actually sending it to. If you can't message people and change the names. What can you do?
MoHA has been horrible, 5 days in. Not a single article, I'm sure people will say 'Quality over quantity' but at this rate, even if Sven releases an article today (which he probably won't) MoHA will have 6 articles this month.

Sven doing what he does best.
An absolute disgrace, he's neglecting a key part of BA's domestics which is to re publish guides (Probably one of the most simple things a MoHA could do) he offered me dMoHA but as far as I see it I'd be doing most of the actual work there. Organising a cricket game with the Indian MoE isn't an excuse to not publish a guide. I was really hoping they'd prove me wrong, but so far that hasn't been the case. It's really unfortunate.
MoF is Huey George, top guy. I really couldn't care about the whole drama with the treasury. He's very good and probably one of the kindest eRepublik players, at least in the eUK but I think I could go as far to say the eWorld. I think he's a legendary guy and is one of the only people who could've got out of such a bad situation

AW did sell her deal to Moriarty for the vCP position, is that the kind of person one wants in power?

I have it on very good grounds that AW did not accept vCP to screw over Moriarty, I believe AW accepted it for the same reason I did. It's better to be on the inside than to be on the outside and having little to no information on what's going on.

Well I was there when she signed the deal with the Spamicans, so I do believe your good grounds aren't all that great.

Whether or not AW accepted vCP for BA, it would've still gone to a ballot
In AW accepting vCP for BA I didn't see any betrayal of Moriarty. However I wasn't there for the deal with Spamicans. Although I was aware we were probably going to be running him

We are now some days in to the reign of BA. The world hasn't gone under, but not much has happened, do you think the opposition in which BA thrived doesn't translate to leadership?

I think that BA and V have lost the protection they had as the opposition, that they could just criticize and criticize but not actually try and solve any problems. Now they're the leadership and they're the ones who are receiving the criticism. They're being watched by a lot of people who want to see them trip up and it's going to be much harder for them. They have a much smaller pool of talented people and politicians.

And who are these blessed few talented people?

I'll have to get back to you on that one, but I'm sure they're in there! I believe they have some talent. But I couldn't name them off the top of my head.
Well I'm trying to be fair to them and assume they have some. The only one which comes to mind at the moment is Sir Robert V, he has potential.

Let's talk a bit about TUP, do you believe they have a future in the eUK? I mean the real TUP, not the Vendetta TUP

They will have a future, but in a much smaller way than they have.
I don't think they'll be able to ever recover, like how UKPP will never get to 250 members, due to the game dying and the citizens just not being there.

What are your views on the monarchy

I love the monarchy, I think it should just be there. I think it's a bit of fun and it keeps spirits up. It's like eRepublik religions, they're there if you want to immerse yourself more into the game. Hail Woldy!

I totally agree, Woldy was here when I first played, and he's still around today, he is a national treasure and trying to take his crown away is like shooting David Beckham.

I like how Becks is going for the Woldy look nowadays.

Now the eUK, alliance wise, what's our future?

Well if the referendum ever arrives I think we'll see changes. Even if we stay in Sirius I don't think our allies will look at us in the same way as they did before. If we leave Sirius then I really think that our old allies are just going to take our regions. I don't think Asteria will accept us and we'll either have no alliance or we'll find someone else.
Maybe LETO? But still it's an unlikely scenario

Did you read that article that was published in the UK, saying that our best route was neutrality ?

I skimmed it and read a few comments, I think the idea that 'if we aren't in an alliance they don't have a reason to wipe us' is ludicrous. They have tons of reasons too! Regions, tax money and borders to other countries they can attack. The Serbian who wrote it open admits their 'mission' to 'open up discussion' to membership with Sirius. But I see it as nothing more than them forcing their way into our politics and trying to influence what goes on.

Neutrality is not an option in a game which is mostly about war!

I think Keers has one good point, amongst many bad ones, that the eUK only got it's position in the alliance world because of players who where well connected, Malta,Keers, Kara etc.

And that our new generation will never be able to replicate that, thus leading to our gradual downfall.

I agree, in the end we're not a particularly high ranked country, we're incredibly average. We're not a world superpower who can take on any country and win. It's all well and good to have patriotism but we have to look at the facts. We've lost a lot of experience, the pool of people to become ministers and deputies has dropped off massively.
The next generation of citizens simply haven't arrived

And what are your personal plans for the future?

I plan to make my entrance into MoD and MoF. I don't want to be offered the same positions every month that I've held for months already. I want to go into something new, MoD and MoF are very important ministries and if I can do a good job there. Who knows, maybe I'll run for CP in a few years.

FightandProduce in his more hip, black days.

Well, I wish you the best in all your future endeavours! Thank you for talking to me!

Thank you very much, it's been great talking to you. Best of luck to ya .
