Bad Resistance Strategy in eAustralia
Marbus
Now that eChile has been decling due to fearce resistance from eArgentina, one would think the eAustralian government would take advantage of this situation and organise resistance in Victoria. But no, once against the people of eAustralia are force to fight eIndonesia in Western Australia, fighting in a battle, which in completely unwinable.
This form of straight up ignorance and incompetence by the eAustralian government, to direct the course of winable battles, has weakened not only eAustralia itself, but the fighting spirit of each and every eAustralian.
eAustralia must make resitance in a senable manner, which is winable and which will uplift the fighting spirit of each and every eAustralian. We must create battles that are winable, not which are completely hoplesly lost to the enemy.

The govt didn't organise the RW, Marbus. Anybody can and the group that chose to, chose to RW WA.. As long as you and 9 other friends have the money, you can start one yourself given it fits within game parameters.
By and large most eAustralian governments don't "organise" any sort of RWs unless it's part of an anti-wipe strategy, or the country is currently wiped. A majority of the time it's private citizens who do, which goes hand in hand with game mechanics that requires 10 individual citizens to support it with a 1,000 CC fee each. Governments can't do that unless it's an informal arrangement. There's no current mechanic in eRepublik for a government to go *BANG* and initiate an RW.
But again on your thing about Victoria, I don't understand why you're persisting on that front when I and others have explained to you how the game works. Countries are connected by border regions. Victoria is directly connected on the map to South Australia and Tasmania. At present, Tasmania is the only region we have and the only reason the government can continue to accrue revenue.
Take that out of the equation (and following recent Budget amendments that erased the wipe buffer we had) we'd be in trouble unless the government activated reserves. It hasn't so it's unlikely it will now for the remainder of the term. Doing these things late in the realisation of things leads to panic buying (money) which not being properly forward planned, has the tendency to be spent quicker on an urgent RW strategy at the last minute (e.g. imagine a QM obtaining and handing out guns in a panic Vs one who has time to check a clipboard - the same applies in any crisis).
But returning to your issue of having an RW, the sure bet if you want to have one is QLD. It's not connected to anything but Northern Territory, which is still held by the enemy but wouldn't change the fact that eIndonesia still needs to go due south via NT to connect to our last region, or initiate one via South Australia which they wouldn't do because it's a waste of money, as they already hold it.
So hopefully now you will see how Victoria is a deadly move, but it's always nice to see more article in the media offering different views.
Cheers!
Doesn't matter to an extent. Point is the struggle not the win.
Personally I think we need a few battles where people actually wake up and try.
