Are You A FINO? Check Yourself
Kara Zor El
FINO's
These are people who came late to the party. They are Feds in name only. They wanted nothing to do with the Feds until they became a well respected top 5 party. They swoop in with their reputations and list of accomplishments to seize power and never give it up. They use the the buzz words that make them seem like Feds. You will see them using Fed4Lyfe or proud/horny. Of course they they are. They can just chalk up the Feds as another party they had no business influencing. They take positions in leadership just long enough to be considered a valuable member and then fade away to return to from time to time. All the while, their status as leaders of the party remains unchanged and are allowed to make decisions and criticisms they should not be allowed to. Make your own judgements on who these people are.
By now, you should be seeing that I have been a Fed a long time. I have held every position in leadership except PP. That does not mean I haven't done the PP's job. I have never had the time available to be a good, full time PP. Neither have many other PP's, but I actually care enough about the party to not run. I have always been well trusted and respected by the majority of the party. I have been nominated for PP countless times. The PP race has become nothing more than a popularity contest as of late. It's also more of a matter of who's turn is it next to be PP. Yes, they have a nomination process and any Fed is allowed to participate. The problem is that the elites pressure certain people not to run or when to run, as if they know what is best for the party. Ask JDR1986. Oh wait! He left for that very reason.
So once again I say, there has to be something terribly wrong to make me blow my top and leave the party. You only get a taste of just the past week. My frustration has been building for months.
Ask yourself. Why did Wingfield leave? He recruited me. He moved to South Africa for awhile and came back here to find the party distasteful. Why did Rise, one of our founders, come back and not feel at home here? If I didn't recently, bump the thread with the Federalist Creed, would anyone even be aware of it? It is shameful, that I had to dig our Creed and Platform out of archives and bump it. Even today, would your PD even know where to find it at a moments notice? It seems like someone in that position should be aware of such things. Why are new Feds not taught the Fed Platform and Creed? Ask any Fed at random what distinguishes them as a party. There will only be a few who can do so. I bet they are not found in Recruitment and Retention Department. Sorry, Talio, I don't mean you.
Thus ends my 5 part series on why I left the Feds. I am surprised there have been no tl:dr insults. Must be a good read.
Comments
tl;dr ;P
I asked for that.
Deleted my "Ta dah!" just now to say that you really need to read my comment in the previous article. Not that I am something special to pay attention to or that I am that particularly intelligent. I just said some stuff that needed saying.
Playing a federalist in eRepublik is easy, every thing is managed at a federal level. That's why your party has no identity. It's like saying we're the "Union of Carbon Based Lifeforms", big whoop.
voted, and enjoyed reading it all.
Beats the (zillionth episode of ) Pizza vs the Universe soap opera any day of the week!
Hmm its ok for kara to complain about elites but when pth does it...
I don't even know how to respond to this article and the presumption that you are all knowing enough to decide who is or is not a "real" Fed. I may be presuming things her, but since you said I would be addressed in the 5th part, I feel that it's safe to assume you think of me as one of these "fake" Feds. I did that once and was soundly put in my place, and even though I dislike who did it, he was right. I don't care how long you've been in the Feds, who are you to decide who is being true or not?
This is a game that we play on the internet, you lasting as long as you have is an exception, not the rule. People coming and going is to be expected, but that does not mean we should discount the things they have done while they are here.
This whole thing is stupid and has been blown wildly out of proportion. What is happening now has been brought on you by yourself by being totally unwilling to rationally discuss things with people. Whatever you may think so or not, there is something to be said when every single person around you (even those you consider friends) is telling you that they disagree with the way you handled something.
UNITE AGAINST THE ELITES!
Yes, Laxone, now you're getting it.
I get what you're saying. There was way too many people who were there when I came back a year after my PP term who were like "You're not a Fed", you left the country. Oh sorry, f you, I've been helping the party before you were eBorn.
The ones you named before this article (sans the first article, I don't know that person) are true Feds, but I know what you're talking about.
No apologies required KB. For any Fedz reading this article...here is where you can find the party platform --> http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Federalist_Party_Platform
Another example of the elitist atmosphere in our country.
Revolution is inevitable.
the only Revolution around here is my theme.
@Pizza, go away, no one likes you.
I support you doing whatever you think is necessary. I have respect for you that wasn not lost in the series of articles slamming my party.
I have one question though: Am I a "fake" federalist? Sure I've only been around for just over two months, but I carry with me the same traits as a true federalist. Integrity, that's our main principle. I feel like it wasn't made clear who is or isn't a true fed. I think I deserve the title of a fed, considering I take part in the party, and contribute my share.
Sure there are plenty of people who have jumped on the fed4lyfe bandwagon, some may even say that I did, but I don't consider myself a FINO. The overwhelming majority of feds are people who are brought together to have fun and to succeed in this game, not to get in fights regarding silly things. For instance, I don't think gnilraps meant to erase you from the history of the party, he merely misinterpreted what you had said on IRC. The internet can be a tricky thing sometimes.
I'm not asking you to forgive us all, and reconcile with gnilraps, I do ask that you respectfully end your connection with the party here, and that the people in the party don't blow this out of proportion and attack you for childish reasons.
excellent series from beginning to end. this is the kind of thing that erep newspapers were made for. i know i can't deliver this kind of writing consistently so i never even started one.
i think i speak for many others when i say that i'd love to read anything you write about all the crap that's been building while you were with your previous party. it may even be cathartic for you.
also, i think i speak for many others when i say i'd love to read some articles from other members of your previous party in response instead of snippets in the comments section. the insight would be much appreciated.
tl;dr x2
Voted.
@Ghost Killah, no one even knows who you are!
none of you exist. no one cares who any of you are. and nothing of even remotely consequential will ever happen here. You are far better off painting yourself red and dancing around a telephone pole.
@kooguy
I do not consider you a FINO. An example would be Angelini. Before her time in the Feds, she made her reputation elsewhere. She did not rise through the ranks. PLEASE ANGELINI, TELL ME THAT'S NOT TRUE. The same is true of Cromstar. He came into the party and immediately became the PD when I stepped down.
Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I was unsure of the actual definition.
This is true, I made a reputation as a military person who was a member of the CvP/DemReps before I came to the Feds. And when I joined, because of my field of experience, I was asked by Fingerguns to head the FBI. I can't help that she did that, she was a friend of mine and knew I could handle a job that no one else wanted. In the 18 months since I have joined, I have worked in many offices (recruitment, media, political, party president), and except for a 2ish month break at the beginning of this year to get away and recharge my batteries, I have worked tirelessly for this party. And I would like to note that even when I left the country I was doing work for the Feds.
So according to you, the fact that I had an eLife before joining the Feds is grounds for totally disregarding the almost 2 years of work I have given? Only people who start in the Feds are allowed to claim the fact that they are a "true" Fed and not just someone pretending to be one?
Your logic totally astounds me.
I'll include a segment on this in my following article. I appreciate everything you've done Kara.
I stand by Kara Beth!
As she said, when I came back from eSouth Africa, the party was not what it had been when I left. Even so, the decision to leave and move to the USWP was one of the hardest I ever had to make in the game.
The Federalists rose to prominence through unity, talent and refusing to follow the orders of other parties and those who are often called the elites. Once they "joined" the establishment, the soul of the party withered away.
The party I moved to has had its problems this year but there is still room there for experienced players who do not fit the "norm". That is why I have stayed there. This is my preference, I do not urge other people to follow me without question on this.
Keep it up, KB. You know you have always had my friendship and support. Looking forward to more from you!
@Pizza, thats funny, I am in the NSC, Fed Comms Director, and I am in the SF. People apparently know who I am and know I work hard. I am also well liked by the past 2 Presidents and their cabinets. So GTFO Pizza.

Thanks Paul Broteus!
What about what Gnilraps did to me? I jioned, actively recruited for the Feds and am ashamed to have done it. Glad you have seen the elitist light for what it is.
