An Alarming New Era : My run for PP and other things

Day 720, 20:35 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by Badlands17

Hello again everyone!

I was originally planning to write this article later, but I think we need a little break from this talk about the eIndonesian invasion. Did the links make my point enough? 😃

Before I start, I would like to make a few confessions. I figure that as I spend more time in this wonder we call eRepublik, I gradually accumulate dirt in my name. I can brush it off and apologize, or pretend I never got dirty in the first place and just have other people notice, want to bow their heads in pity and stay away. I'm sorry I wasn't a more active president, that wasn't more proactive in making leadership decisions. I'm sorry I wasn't able to accomplish some of my second term promises. I'm sorry, especially to Vikta, for this article. Regardless of its merits, my evidence was something said in confidence and privacy, and I think that led to a lot of the distance and alienation from the Defense Dept. that ended in the Ryan Southcombe scandal. I'm by no means condemning my administration, which I think overall made a lot of progress, but it's easy to see where things could have been better, especially leading into and during my second term. I hope SetsunaX will top me. 🙂

With that behind us, I would like to officially announce my candidacy in the November party president elections for the DAP. The congress elections in particular are a somewhat magical time for me, maybe because everyone comes out of the woodwork to support eachother or make their plans. Congress as a body is by no means as influential as the president, but that's where you see talent begin to shine, and many ideas begin to form. As your party president, I will help the DAP perform their best, and not anyone else perform their worst. FUP, and yes (gasp) MWP generally have a fine upstanding leadership and if anything, an important secondary goal will be to help, or at least not stop, anyone who is active and has shown they have the chops to make it into our core body of decision makers. The DAP as a party is not in the president's chair for the first time since June, and will have to accustom, at least for a while, to a new role. I think the first step is expanding our base of members, many RL Malaysian, who show potential to lead our country into the alarming new era we live in. Again, if you don't have a place wherever you are, the DAP will gladly take you in under my leadership, just like they took me in all those elections ago. It doesn't matter who you are, activity and just plain sociability and putting yourself out there can get you ahead in this game in less time than you think. 😉

Please support me on November 15!
