Well about this, both congressmen who left, left because of the admin tournament. They had to change cs to have the same than their MU. Although I agree that's not a good move, this is done just before the next congress election so it should not have heavy impact (there is one due to the NE vote, but ok).

But I agree that of having only a restricted amount of regions could be nice as we indeed have too much for the number of active citizens we have 😉.

Well, yeah, that's the problem, people having their "reasons" to leave. Being candidate to Congress is an engagement towards the population. You are well paid (5 gold) for 4 votes and 2 debates each month, so the minimum is to stay on board until your term end!

Well, most people see the congress as a free medal and nothing more. That's what happens when you don't have enough active scitizens, you have "free" seats that nobody wants to take and so random people fill them in.

Your congress is not reputed to be very active, making statements like this one is weakening your position as an interesting community to join for regular players. Try to stop chasing people out by jumping to conclusions and do something about making congress life more important. There is a valid reason for your CM moving over and if you would have at least taken the time to inquire about the reason for moving, this whole article wouldn't have been necessary.

There is no lulz in personal attacks, never was, never will be. You've lowered yourself to a personal attack on a member of my regiment to validate your point and I will not stand for that.

For the rest, not being able to change something yourself is a blatant lie. I've only been in congress 5 times but was still able to make a difference outside of the media for 18 months.

It is a personal attack to expose perfectly acceptable and honorable actions as if they were crimes against eBelgium. Playing other people out as dumb by pretending you aren't trying to score political points by discrediting others isn't going to work with me.

So according nationality to MU to be able to count towards a group effort of a group that's larger then eBelgium's active population is less important then doing nothing in congress.

And for your first paragraph : yes, I'm sorry, the "size of the group" does not matter for my choices and thoughts. According the fact he was a Congress Member, I think his move is not a good one, no matter your "size arguments". It's more a matter of principle, due it's supposed responsibilities.

If there were supposed responsibilities in the eBelgian congress I would agree with you. The fact however is that there are none due to the general lack of implication of eBelgians.

Your fantasy doesn't hold up as you don't vote for a candidate anymore either, you vote for parties that don't even propose a program. How do you expect individual candidates to be held accountable for a supposed responsibility if they're not expected to do anything at all by those who vote for them and those who put them on congress lists (party presidents).

A CM can't be held accountable by other CM or even citizens as they have absolutely no control over if someone gets elected or not. Unlike other behaviour sometimes deemed unethical, there has never been a law that makes it punishable to leave your position either. There is thus no need to send out a general warning about leaving congress, the only people who decide if the actions of congress members are "just" are any future party presidents as those are the people who will decide on future eligibility for congress.

So sure, it's not just an eBelgian problem; ePoliticians are mostly lazy and useless once in office. It's the imperfect system we have to live in.

well congressmen are working for the country, they have a medal, then i don't see why they need money to do that. In the past, those golds were good to make mpp's or other projects. With tournament little countries can have easier golds, but before it was hard.

well, i sort of understand their reasoning, but still... When you leave to another country, you leave your previous one behind and start anew. That is unless you're a toolbag or a PTOer. When you move, and a national tournament starts after that nation has already GIVEN you a congress seat, then ffs repay that nation and make an attempt to integrate yourself into their community, fight for their gain, or else why move in the first place?

So though it's tough for me to speak, cause at this point I don't see myself ever leaving my eNation, I still wouldn't let them back in the country if they applied.

If you want to contribute on the potential rewards your Military Unit members earn, your citizenship must match with the location of your Military Unit! For example, if you have a Swedish citizenship, but you’re in a German Military Unit, your effort won’t count. However you can still receive rewards won by the other members of your Military Unit.

If you wish to change your citizenship, you may do so until Day 2,344 23:55 eRepublik time. Changing the Military Unit after Day 2,341 8:00 eRepublik time ((=time of admin announcement)) won’t affect the Spring Hunt. If you weren’t a member of any Military Unit at that time, you will not be able to contribute to the Military Units part of the Spring Hunt. But worry not, there’s plenty to do for everyone!

In Portugal, leaving the congress without an explanation is reason to get into the Blacklist and lose access to the private congress forum.

People have to think 1st if they will have time to spend with congress instead of run just to win the medal...

I don´t know the reasons that made Critically and Ayleo leave their seat, but I hope they´re good.
