A fond farewell to the awesome erep community

Day 2,631, 20:37 Published in USA USA by Malarkey83

This message has been one that I've contemplated how to write for quite some time. While understanding that this is a game, you also understand you've invested a lot of time and energy playing it. You meet people who you actually wouldn't mind calling a friend. And it can be a little tough to finally hang it up and knowing it's time to call it quits.

I started out like most, as a wide-eyed and eager to learn noob. I joined the Federalist Party because they weren't the top party. I found a fun atmosphere where I was able to learn from some truly awesome people like Molly Emma, Gnilraps, fluffydoorman, etc. Even though I was young, they took the time to be human to a new player. I cannot thank them enough for that! I grew as a player eventually (somehow) getting elected Fed PP and spent a lot of time in the party. I later moved on to the AMP where I befriended guys like John Killah, Evry, emdoublegee, Napalm Norm and countless others...

There are tons of people I would call friends over my time in erep. They're all great people in my opinion. Off the top of my head...

Paul Proteus
Fingerguns
dmjohnston
trekker tlumac
Dr Luis
Jude connors
Deepchill
stewy
Batoa
WildOwl
TellUrGrlThx

The list could go on and on and on but anyone I neglected to mention I'm sorry!

Most importantly, I'd like to thank Aramec/Athanaric for his time/friendship. When I was a young noob, Athanaric took me under his wing, granted me an interview to help me understand WTH Dioism was and (for god knows what reason) saw something in me and asked me to join his eNews Alliance.

Athanaric taught me the value of having someone mentoring you to understand the world of erep. I never got to thank him before he quit. As I grew up in erep and started to join the ranks of "oldfag" I decided to impart my knowledge on new players. One of them was "Aramec" who actually was my good friend and mentor Athanaric. He allowed me the opportunity to return the favor and eventually thank him for all he had done for me. I thank you friend!

Anyway, it's been a fun ride but my time of service in this game is done. I've held more positions than I can frankly remember. Many of them were thankless but needed to be done. I didn't do them for recognition or popularity...it was just an important function of game role playing and needed someone to manage it. I'll still hop on now and then to bs and catch up with friends...maybe do some 2-clicking.

Edit: It occurs to me that I didn't mention why I'm leaving. As with most players who leave it comes to one of two reasons; the mounting frustration of playing a game where the admins don't care to address the concerns you raise as to making the game better...or they have RL things going on. I'm in the latter category (although the admins don't exactly aid themselves) with RL things. I've been busy working on my RL between work/school and I'll be getting married in a few months. My fiancee also plays the game but has effectively been a 2-clicker most of her time here. I'll be joining her in that regards and occasionally popping up on IRC/forums to chat and catch up with you all.
