Why would I want to be landlocked?

Why would I want to be landlocked?

After serving in cabinet for months, and enjoying the freedom of being able to move where I please, I have decided to run for Senate.

Why would I do this?
Why would I say goodbye to my fellow Dropbears?
Why would I swap the first term I have had away from Cabinet for a place in the Senate?

What on earth is so important?

simple. YOU ARE

I have dedicated a significant part of my life in erepublik to making Australia a better place to be. I established our first charity, served in the military, worked in almost every Ministry of our Government, proposed Acts, and most recently been Inspector General. Now I am asking you for the privilege of voting on your behalf.

but really...this isn't only about me, this is about what Australia needs. We elect 40 Senators every month, yet less than half of them are active. I am offering my time and dedication to you, as a candidate in South Australia. I have proven my commitment to this game and country, I have always listened to and discussed ideas and acted in the best interests of our Nation. I have put forward others ideas and fought for what I believe in.

I believe in continuing to support our military,
I believe in fair taxes -like it of not, the recent rise was necessary
I believe the government has a justifiable need to own and manage companies but this should not be to the detriment of our industry

I have followed the ongoing discussion about whether or not we need a hospital in South Australia...to be honest, I see this as a non issue. A hospital in each region stops the current and mostly permanent migration away at level 5. You want population growth in an area, you need a hospital.
From a military POV, it costs an attacking country more gold the higher the regions population, and the starting value of the defensive wall is higher.
From a political POV, it improves the accountability of our elected representatives, we currently have regions where senators are elected simply because they nominate
From a Industry POV, it promotes higher wellness and productivity, and makes working in higher quality companies a more appealing option

We NEED an active senate,

make your vote MEAN something more than 1 experience point.
