Brenflakes for SA Senate

Day 700, 01:41 Published in Australia Australia by Brenflakes

Once again I will be running for the senate in south australia. After narrowly missing out on a seat in last months elections, i've spent the bulk of this month learning more about the senate, speaking to other senators, keeping in touch on the forums and newspapers, and i believe that i have what it takes to represent our great state.

Q5 Hospital
We have one in storage, and one half complete. I see no need to sell either of these after the tax increase. I believe one should be kept in reserve for emergency, so when the second hospital is completed, i'll be campaigning for it to be placed in SA. Some have argued that we dont have the population for it, but i believe that will change if we were to get a hospital. Many south aussies would come home to work and fight, and it would save all state citizens from having to continually buy moving tickets to participate in the war games.

Legislation
At the moment we have far too much of it. Its complicated, and the average citizen probably doesnt care about it. I'll be looking at areas we can improve some of the redtape, and still maintain checks and balances for government spending.

NBA Theft
With the recent announcement as to what actually happened, its become clear that not enough is being done to secure our country accounts, and as it stands, anybody can take whatever they want and get away scott free. This is completley unacceptable, and if elected i'll be working on a proposal to mandate that an in-game contract must be signed before being given access to any national accounts. Just because in the case of the NBA theft the admin wont return the gold due to rules being broken, doesnt mean that a contract wouldnt be enforceable. Contracts would ensure that if someone were to steal it, assets and funds could be recouperated from the offender regardless of if we gave them the password or not.

WA
I've been thinking about this one long and hard for several months, and there is no easy answer as to what we should do. If we attack to try and get it back, then we will probably lose the rest of the country again, and none of us want to see that happen. Sitting on our hands trying to regain the funds to buy back companies our economy cant support is not a viable option IMO. Either way, it doesnt look good. As it stands i think we should continue on our current course, saving our funds and continuing discussions with eIndonesia to get a suitable outcome for both countries.

Why vote for me?
Im an active member, usually on multiple times a day (computer addict lol). I have a good understanding of game mechanics, and the market, being a GM has given me a great insight into how the economy works. I'd really like the chance to represent every person in the game, regardless of political opinions. Im not going to be carrying on like a 7 year old on the forums like others sometimes do, i'll present my clear opinion, which will be objective and well thought out. The future of our country is at stake, and i would love to be a part of it.

I ask for your support this coming election, and i hope you will consider voting for me.
