Dear Country

Day 697, 03:48 Published in Australia Australia by Ollie Chase

Dear Country,

It's that time of year again, where all us wannabe Senators get out the presentations and start spreading them all over the place.

This time round nearly changed for me...
nearly.

See, I thought it was time that I got out there, joined the military and ranked up, maybe moved into another Country and got to feel my way around some of the other parts of the eWorld, but I decided not to.

Dear Country, Dear eAustralia, I will be running for Senate again, but at the same time I want to also split my work into adding interest into the country we love most.

Firstly, I'll get my presentation over and done with-

As a Senator, I wish to achieve one goal over all others;
Represent the best interests of all eAustralians.
When I say best interests, I don't mean what you all chant and say you want, I mean what will in reality be better for us. When people chanted for war with eIndonesia, I kept a level head and thought about it. In the words of Jaybay "Don't Be a Losser".
I thought long and hard when people started asking for War and my opinion came pretty damn close to that of BenP's. Basically, if we had of gone to war, we would have lost, Eden or no Eden. We would break a contract that we said we would respect, we would be crushed for it. It wasn't the way to go.
So, when the discussions came round I made it pretty clear after a while that I didn't see War as an option.

What do I plan to achieve this term? Well, I could say I want to write up a bill, but I said that the last 2 terms and I still haven't written one up. What can I say, it's difficult.
Instead, I wish to bring healthy debate into the Senate and contribute to discussion, vote in the voting hall and do what any Senator is not just expected to do, but required to do.
Also, being a Senator for the last 4 or 5 terms, I know how things work.

Now, on to what Else I wanted to say.

eAustralia, we live in a country cut off from war. We are protected by eIndonesia from the hell that stands outside our country. Some may call it oppressed, but that is one persons singular opinion.

It is quite obvious then, that we are going to be a little bored. Well, let's face it, we know that we are all getting "a little bored". Some of us have tried to bring a new spark into the country, Crowdedhouse's podcasts, Mark Sanchez's eMMa fights, CookieAU's poker game and others. I think it's about time I turned my head back into one of the things I joined this eWorld to do.

Create brilliant Media.

eAustralia is a country gifted with many talented at writing. We have very little spam in our Media, and when spam does appear we merely dismiss it. Of course, there are those times we all act like sheep and make spam the top of the news, but that's just how we are, we can't change that.

What is "Brilliant Media"?

It's media that's presented through clean and quality means, media that is presented in new ways in scales that haven't been done before, Media that is actually enjoyable to read and look at.
In the coming month, I intend to start writing about recent events more like I used to, experiment with new means to present the news, and bring that spark back into our country that inspires so many.

eAustralia, I'm going to make a change for the better.
