Today, I am introducing the formation of an organization entitled Project Symbolism Singapura (PSS). This organization will mainly be a donation fund for the construction of a brand spankin' new Q5 Defense System here in Singapore City. It is my understanding that no government funds will be utilized to install such a wonderful thing in our land, so I've took it upon myself to undertake this project and raise the funds myself. If the government decides later to change their mind on this stance, then so be it but I'm not asking for nor am I requiring government assistance for this project. Taxpayer's money should be used for more pressing issues, but I've made a promise to people who sent me to Congress, in large numbers, that this issue will be a priority of mine. Installing a Q5 Defense System here in Singapore will not only increase morale amongst our citizens, but it will also be another talking point in the promotion of our beautiful island to potential new citizens...many of which take into account what a country has before making the decision to move there. Elizabeth Jones PAC, an organization from my eUS days that I transfered to Singapore will be kicking off this fundraising drive by donating 5 Gold.
The mandate the citizens sent through me to this administration and new congress is they want More for Singapore! It's not about what a Q5 DS is worth to our small nation, it's about having that very special badge of honor that more prosperous countries revel in. Why can't our beautiful land have that same feeling of a strong capable nation that can defend herself when needed? No more talk of what we can do for ourselves. Let's install a national symbol that can speak it for us. Once the funds have been raised for this special project, I do urge the wonderful Madame President Arbryn to act swiftly in the purchase of a new Q5 Defense System and the immediate approval from our Congress.
Now, I would like to take this time to address other non-important issues that have come up recently that seem to be of much conversation and consternation. The attack that has been leveled against me is purely a disgrace and shows exactly how low a person would go just to prove their baseless, invalid point. Instead of having a healthy debate on building the morale across our nation, this individual decided to make it personal with hatemongering ads and articles against ME. I am who I am. If I was to conform to what you want me to be, I wouldn't be me. See, this is where the failure comes into play. You can't make someone be what you want to be. My campaign tactics were exactly that, campaign tactics. If you didn't like it, well maybe you should have been running my campaign. But you weren't, I was. And in the end, by me throwing myself into MY campaign full throttle paid off. The voters connected with the message and I won the election coming in 4th place out of 10 open seats. A relative unknown like myself who campaigned in less than a day with a message that actually got through to voters is a feat I am proud of. If you don't like it, run a better campaign next time. Actually talk about something that the voters can have faith in. You can either love me or hate me. But one thing you will do is respect me. Thank you.

Note that the price was not the ONLY argument against a defense system. It was also diplomatic relations. Neither of our borders wish to attack us (and if Indo did, we're screwed no matter what, better to save those 350G for RWing).
So you are really trying to get Q5 DS to Singapore? Good luck. Only the president can buy DS so you have to climp higher on Sing`s hierarchy if you want DS to our country.

Elizabeth Jones mention that we have problems and diplomatic relations with our neighbours could you state who is on bad terms with us at the moment.
You Mention about the Q5 DS system not being in place, you mention the people spoke to you on that. Who are those people.
Basically Aliening yourself and purposing Ideas without talking to the other congress members is unrespectful.
You ought to be more active in the forums to show your valid reason and ideals for this Q5 DS system
Setting up a Trust fund is great for the Q5 DS, Not not let the people donate it to the Singapore City Bank instead.

Naming names is not something that advances a debate.
I am active in the forums just so happens no one is barely there. So I chose to take a different route by increasing activity through my articles.
I don't need to get approval on my own opinions that I voice in my newspaper.
The fund for the Q5 DS is for those who would like to see movement on this issue. If people are not donating to Singapore City Bank, then there is a disconnect with the communication from our government.
I know how sensitive some are when it comes to interpretation of other people's words. So let me state that this comment was not written in any harsh tone, just me simply responding to your comment.

Uh what makes you so sure? Perhaps you just got a bunch of two-clickers who voted for you because you spammed the advert system. While it may be effective, its hardly a mandate.
To be honest, Singapore has only one region so I don't see why there should be any real objections to getting a Q5 defense system. I'm not from Singapore, but it sounds like a good investment to make.
200 is quiet big sack of gold, are you really sure that it's wise to put that mutch gold for quiet useless ( speaking in game technical perspective ), and even if you think it as Symbol then still its quiet useless to put over 200 gold for a wall which brought couple new ppl in Singapore.
But if you are really going to get that kind of sack of gold from citizens and not from goverment do as you please and good luck 🙂
Yeah, I'm agreeing with Tuukka here. We've explained why a Q5 DS is not cost effective, and why it won't help diplomatic relations.
EJ realizes that she won't get government support, and so she decides to raise the money herself. I doubt she'd get enough money, but if she can, more power to her.
There's nothing really we can/should do in this situation. Just let Elizabeth do what she wants, since it really doesn't impact us.

One of my first actions when i was elected into congress.
I myself wanted to place one of the first proposal was to have a Q5 Defense system up and runnning. I spoken to the number of peers and people around me. Whom they had let me know why if a Q5 Defense System is not needed in this time.
Likewise, i have seen your Campaign Ads.
They mention.

Also, I would advise signing a contract before donating that states something along the lines of "If the necessary funds are not achieved and the project ends OR ___ time elapses, my money will be returned or else Elizabeth will be banned for ___ days."

We "Have to Respect" you? I think not. We the people do not have to do anything for you. The fact you got elected shows that you can spam the Citizens Ad's enough to get voters. How many of those new citizens who voted for you do you think will be back next month when you fail to follow through on your promise of a Q5 DS?
There have been many healthy debates about the Defense System. Did you even read them? You claim that you are active on the forums. To the best of my remembering, I've only seen you post there 1 or 2 times (I cant get an exact count, the forums are down as of writing this). You are not "active" on the forums, You havent taken any part in the debates over any funding at all. You posted a few times then disappeared.
I think the kicker in all of this is that you now have an org. You are actively soliciting money but you dont have a contract to protect the org and the money you are trying to take off the newer players who voted for you. You are doing so with out government sanction and with out even any real support.
Get a contract on that org that ensures you use the funds for what they are intended or that they are returned to the donors. One that ensures that you are infact going to use it for a Q5 DS for eSingapore, Singapore City Region. Make sure it also includes a clause that if you are caught doing anything other than collecting for a DS that you get a hefty ban.
Its time to put up or shut up Elizabeth Jones.

The only money that's in that organization is money I donated, a donation from Flaco and some change from some guy in South Africa, not to mention the money I used out of my own pocket to create this wonderful organization...especially since the gov wants nothing to do with this project.

Okay, the term is "Alienating". Okay, now that minor mistake is fixed. It seems your point didn't get through though, because she still didn't get it. You tried to get a Q5 DS installed and you failed, and were informed why it is not plausible. But she ignores that. And waddya know? Here we go all over again.

I'm sorry you don't seem to grasp this concept. When you take donations and state its for something like a countries DS, you need to contract that org on the games OFFICIAL forums with a contract that makes it clear that the money will ONLY be used to purchase the product you have committed to (In this case, a Q5 Defense System).
If you should choose not to contract your Org, I would suspect you are not going to get very many donations from anyone other than your friends, as people in this country are loathe to hand money over to a stranger making wild promises but who is not willing to contract that money to ensure its only used for its intended purpose.
As Head of the Military, I do a rather good job. I would advise that you spend less time attacking everyone in the government who does not agree with your wild plans for a useless DS and get down to work being a 1 term wonder of a congresswoman (As your promise of a Q5 Defense System will fall way short).

Sorry to inform you EJ but as head of Military Relorian's main job is National Defense. Such defense does not only come in the form of guns. Him being suspicious of private groups requesting funds from our citizens IS him doing his job.

New to the game--can someone brief me on what external threats are faced by singapore in game? and judging by the price of gold in SGD, i can tell that is a lot of money. Instead we can sign treaties with big countries to help us when we need--and maybe forge trade partnerships with them in return, so maintaining a relationship with is is profitable for them. Once this happens, we will have a big ally on our side and this immediately deters anyone who wants to attack us. This solution is a lot more economically feasible--once we have new trade partnerships, we can channel more money into developing our economy by encouraging new startups to contribute to output. Once we gain wealth by a lot, we can slowly become more and more independant.
But then again it is not the governement's treasury cash but ppl's donations, so it will be only by ppl who want it. So if there are sufficient ppl, I guess it kind of bypasses the need to vote for a defence system, so please proceed. But at the same time please please please do not spend taxpayer dollars on this now--we srsly need to up the economy by a lot. Then we can set a target--once the treasury reaches say 1000 gold we can start to use gov budget to improve other aspects of the nation.
While you are doing this initiative, please look into helping new company startups to boost the economy--i trust there is international trade, so more startups with assisted growth can greatly improve our situation. In fact, I would appreciate it if such matters can filter down to those who are too inexperienced to startup companies, like me--free guidance forums or things like that will show a community spirit that will encourage people to go to the economic career path before anything else.

I srsly think that Ms EJ should concentrate more time on dealing with issues other than Q5 DS!!!! IS THAT REALLY WHAT WE NEED?
Oh and PLS SPEND TIME ON ATTRACTING CITIZENS TO MOVE HERE. Our population is like what, 400+? If we want to have a stronger economic force, we need more ppl--in the event of an attack, even with whatever DS, more ppl in the Army is still better.
Again, I am no expert, but please take into consideration what I am saying--even if you are not spending GOV money, can we have this as really really secondary? Spend more time on things that affect PPL DIRECTLY, so that they are more content--let the defence minister do his work--if he surveys the situation, and does not find a need for it, why do it? I trust Relorian is doing his due diligence--if there is a need for such a system, be it for immediate purposes or future defence purposes let him do the work, and you can concentrate on more meaningful things🙂
