Reminisce- Congress Presentation

Day 638, 08:56 Published in Australia Australia by Reminisce

Hello, fellow eAustralians.

I’m probably not one of the better-known eAussies, but I have been playing for a while.
During that time, I was with the Redbacks until they disbanded, I was lucky enough to help Cerri with her AusEaid work and see just how much work went into that organisation, and I’ve more recently been working on the new Boot Camp training program, aiming to get it running smoothly every few weeks.
I am an active player, and you can find me in the irc most nights.

My views on current issues:

WWIII:
There has been much discussion about eAustralia’s part (or lack thereof) in the current wars. As much as it would be nice for eAus to be a world player, I just don’t believe that we have the level of military required for that. On the other hand, if an individual wishes to move overseas to fight for one side or another, I believe that it is entirely their right and choice to do so. However, those in the military should still be present for whatever duties they are called to perform, and should not be wearing their uniform while fighting over there.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
Being Western Australian, I was very much looking forward to the return of this region. However, now is not the time for it’s return, as I do not think we have the economy or population to support such a move, and the international effects could bring about more harm than good.

SOL:
It’s about time eAustralia joined an alliance, I think. SOL allows eAus an path to a more international nation which can be more involved in world affairs. It allows us to be considered as a valuable member of an alliance, rather than merely a weak nation who has jumped on a bandwagon for protection.

WARGAMES:
This is closely related to the SOL issue in my eyes.
On the one hand, the wargames had a shaky start, but on the other, they will allow us to develop along with close nations. It seems to depend upon whether we WANT to help the nations near us, and be helped by them. I think the more recent wargames offer a better long-term benefit than the previous ones, so we should be patient with the mistakes made along the way.

Thanks for reading, and apologies for the length.
