Prez Debate: Shail.back vs Dragons007

Hello citizens of eIndia, dear friends & readers of eIndia & The World (eI&TW)!!! As we approach the big day of our Presidential Elections, we try to bring to you our respected Candidates, current President Shail.back and Presidential hopeful, Dragons007, as you've never seen before. I have tried to focus more on their personality, their commitment to India, and their ability to inspire us. I hope I could formulate the kind of questions that all citizens of eIndia can relate with and would ask their President, if they had such an opportunity. Enjoy!


eI&TW: Please introduce yourself, who you are, your experience in eRepublik and Governance?

Dragons007: Who am I? I am your friendly neighborhood Dragon. Just kidding! I am a relatively young citizen, just about 142 days old. But, I have reached level 19 [within this time,] which itself will tell you how dedicated I am in eRepublik. Unlike in the real world, I very rarely miss the day’s work and training.

In eRepublik, I started out to be a businessman. Basically, I love business and finance. When I joined eRepublik, I was stranded in Indonesia annexed Tamil Nadu. Initially, I started my weapon company in Indonesia with my first earnings. Now, I own a Q5 weapons in Indonesia.

I moved to India soon after the freedom struggle with Indonesia. To be honest, I did not contribute to the freedom struggle when India faced annihilation under Indonesian threats. I felt real bad about that. But, I was very young and naive at that time, & I didn’t know what was happening around. My perspective on eIndia changed completely after meeting [ex-President] David [Forde]. From then on, I have been actively contributing to the eIndian community.

Shail.back: I’m Shail.back, the Commander in Chief of eIndia & son of a beautiful mother who the world knows as India.

I have been here for just about 150 days & have held a few official Govt. posts in this time. I was first elected as Education Minister of India after we got back Orissa. I was appointed as Minister of Defense by Anjan Sarkar & served as Minister of Finance under David Forde. I have also been Founder & Commander-in-Chief of Azad Hind Fauj, a group of dedicated people, working for eIndia’s development and prosperity, under a pact on anonymity.


eI&TW: Any aspect of RL (real life) that you would like to touch upon.

Dragons007: I am originally from Chennai, India, settled in Singapore since last 5 yrs. I just finished my PhD and currently work as a junior scientist working on some geeky stuff.

Shail.back: I am a real-life Indian, and currently serve eIndia in the gorgeous city of Indore, MP. I am a MBA (Finances) & a CFA. Playing with numbers as well as analyzing companies & projects has been my passion. Also I am kind of a workaholic.


eI&TW: How would you describe yourself, as a leader and as a politician?

Dragons007: I am a strategist with some leadership qualities. My skills as a politician are yet to be explored.

Shail.back: A leader is The Man, one who is not afraid to do what needs to be done; The Man who’s mind is educated and experienced to guide a people, a society, a country in the right direction; The Man who doesn’t regret his actions or his decisions; The Man whose loyalty is only the country and the people he is serving.

I, myself try to be that one Man every day.


eI&TW: How have/are you contributing to India's growth now?

Dragons007: I am a very active member of Chamber of Commerce. Previously, I was the aid to Jack, ex-CEO of CoC. Currently, I am designated as the CEO of CoC. I have proposed numerous financial and economical plans for reviving eIndian economy during my term in CoC.

I have known to be government critic and been a pain the ass many times for Shail. (Sorry buddy just doing my job).

Frankly, Shail’s contributions are no par with mine. I openly acknowledge that Shail has done wonderful work for the progress of eIndia. He is the true follower of David’s legacy. But folks, all I ask is for a chance to show such a dedication and give such contributions. I feel that it is not fair to compare the contributions of the current president with the presidential nominee.

Shail.back: Well this is a question you should be asking the people and find out if Shail.back has indeed contributed to eIndia. I can say I have tried my best by holding multiple offices at different points and bringing a lot of people together.

I started my career with Azad Hind Fauj. I founded this great organization and recruited kansarasumit and we together recruited a lot of eIndians and played a key role in building eIndian population in the State of Orissa.

I also feel proud to have played a part, along with the team, Brood, David, Anjan, Arjaa, Srachit, planning about, & fighting alongside them to liberate Orissa. I am honored to have been a part of the group that envisioned a New & Free India & makes me feel most proud that I had contributed in bringing eIndia back on Map

Once eIndia had Orissa, I was elected into congress for the first time & my political career began.
In my term as Minister of Education, we moved back about 200 peoples to eIndia, & made us that much stronger & stable.

As Minister of Defense, we had our first huge scale mission abroad with army campaigning in Indonesia. At that point, we trained our troops, set up few companies, but with war games staring, we moved them back again.

Working as Minister of Finance was my toughest assignment, as I had to build up our economy from scratch. We were able to take up INR value from 110 INR per gold to 37 INR per gold. So we have definitely succeeded in strengthening our position economically, whose long term impacts are visible now.

eI&TW: Given the current scenario of world politics, what is your Foreign Policy?

Dragons007: With respect to foreign policies, I like the stance of the current government. With the current military structure, India has to be cautious with foreign relations.

We need to build strong alliances not only [based] on words but on friendship. Strong and loyal friendships win [out in the end].

Shail.back: I will explain it in 3 simple points.
#1: eIndia’s Security: We have to ensure nobody is looking towards eIndia with intentions to attack. We have to make sure we give foreign nations no reason to have any aggression towards India. This can be achieved by extending friendship, maintaining close relations with them, and top class diplomacy.
#2: Regaining of eIndia’s natural States: As we all know, many of eIndia’s natural states are occupied by our neighbors’ eIndonesia and eIran. I will be working very closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek diplomatic solutions to regain our states.
#3: Establishing Trade Relations: eIndia produces some of the cheapest products in the world market. We are establishing trade channels across the world to fuel economic prosperity of eIndian Companies and eIndian Economy.

eI&TW: What is the best and most exciting part of eRep for you?

Dragons007: eRepublik is a simple game. It just has three parts, economics, politics and military. In real life, finance and business is my game. But in eRepublik, unlike in the real world, there is not much dynamics in eRepublik. Economical and financial strategies don’t work in Erepublik.

Hence my favorite would be military. Currently, I have a craze for military ranks.

Shail.back: My favorite aspect of the game would be the community. Interacting with fellow citizens, meeting up with my ‘Govt team’ on MSN chat to plan India’s growth, managing the Monetary market to ensure India’s prosperity, etc are my most key attractions! Also getting to meet & make friends with a great bunch of people!

eI&TW: I assume that the post of Prez is quite time-consuming as one has to deal with many matters. How often can you be online, and how much time can you devote to eRepublik?

Dragons007: I agree that being a president will consume a lot of time. And I honestly accept that it will be quite demanding.

To counter this, I wish to appoint a Vice President in my term. We will be sharing the responsibilities. Further, unlike the current Govt, I will be delegating responsibilities to my cabinet. I will be bestowing powers to cabinet members. As the possibility of PTO is thwarted with the citizenship module, we can flex our security measures a bit and start to trust more.

With respect to online availability, I am online whenever I am awake. My system is 24/7 online. I will do my best to address the responsibilities of being a President.

Shail.back: I am generally online no less than 12-14 hours a day, and always ready to work for eIndia throughout that time. I am sure many citizens can vouch for the fact that I am always responding to their requests, & queries. No doubt the job of President is quite demanding, as one has to interact with players from all over the world, as well as take care of our own citizens. I always try to strike a balance, and hope I can continue that.

The team that I have in place, in the form of the Ministries, also takes a load off me, and I am thankful for that.

eI&TW: If you are to assume/continue as Prez, do you have a cabinet team ready?

Dragons007: I have some names in mind. I will be assigning two citizens to every ministerial position- One senior citizen for advice and planning and one young citizen for implementing the plans.

Shail.back: Yes most of the departments are working great, so would like to keep them intact, but as always, I would like to involve more and more people in Govt so I have a few new Departments and Ministries planned.

eI&TW: Where do you see India, under your leadership, in the next 30 Days?

Dragons007: Economically, with what we got, we are doing great. I like to proceed in the current direction.

I feel strongly that India’s major drawback is its low population. My priority goal in my term will be the Expansion of eIndia. Appoint a real world ambassador for India. Advertise ERepublik in our local communities. Give government incentives to referrals (besides the system’s gold).

Shail.back: Economic - I see our economy flourishing with a new Q5 hospital Company being set up. I believe we would be having an inflow of about 400+ gold every month, which shows how fast we are developing.

Expansion - with Ministry of Expansion I am trying to set up a vision, a VISION 1000 which will look to develop eIndia every passing day, build a stronger bond among the people, make the game more interesting & make us work as a team.

Foreign Affairs- Kansarasumit is doing a great job, we have never been so rich in Foreign Relations. We have been able to get a great place in world politics now as a Neutral country & I would love to keep that stance & develop on foreign relations

Army – Under the leadership of Minister of Defense and ex President David Forde, who has taken up the responsibility of developing eIndian Armed forces to new heights, the IAF will be investing heavily in developing the soldiers. The Government is paying 77 INR each week for every soldier in the Indian Navy and Air Force. I would like to continue this program. The results have been outstanding so far, eIndia can strike a damage of 100000 easily – a 12.5% rise in just 6 days. In coming 6-7 weeks, we’ll develop our military to strike a damage of at least 1.6 million with 4-5 Field Marshal and about 25-35 Generals. While of course, newer generations of soldiers will keep developing themselves of the time and ranking up.

eI&TW: What do you wish to say to your opponent for the Presidential elections and beyond?

Dragons007: After answering the above questions, I seriously wish Shail to win. Good luck.

eI&TW: Any other aspect of the President-ship, your own determination/personality that you would like to touch upon.

Dragons007: I binge drink and club on Friday nights, does that count as Presidential qualities? Lol!

Shail.back: As I have mentioned in my manifesto, I only seek your approval to serve another term in the office to accomplish the goals set forth and ensure eIndia stays on track of Prosperity, Peace and Progress. I have served this nation with all my heart and now I need your confidence in seeing these plans till the end. I know there is no limit for how far we can reach, but by the end of my second term I want to ensure eIndia’s prosperity is high enough to employ every citizen, provide best of financial resources to eIndian companies and keep the wealth of eIndia growing. I want to ensure that eIndia remains a peaceful nation with good relations with every other nation, and at the same time regains its natural territories from its neighbors in the most formal and respectful manner. I also want to ensure India keeps progressing in every front. Our population will multiply; we will have a sound and an educated population joining hands to make our beloved eIndia a Prosperous, Peaceful and a Progressive nation.
