Some Thoughts on Becoming the eUSA Attorney General
Nutmegger
Quite unexpectedly yesterday I received news that the job of Attorney General was vacant. I have been plugging along as the Public Defender, most recently attempting to defend Ajay Bruno, who seems quite determined to torpedo his own prospects despite any efforts the Public Defender's office can make on his behalf. I entrust the defense to St Krems, who has my full confidence.
Still, it has recently been pointed out that the Attorney General's office is one in search of a mission. It will be my goal as Attorney General to instill a sense of mission into the office and its employees. The mission is quite simply this: the eUSA is a nation of laws, and all of its citizens stand to gain by living within the law. The law will be enforced in an evenhanded manner, and the office of Attorney General will not be a personal or political platform.
I state coming in that I have no quarrels with anyone, and look forward to working with the President and Congress. I will seek to enforce the laws of the eUSA, but will not seek to be an enforcer who delights in prosecuting all offenses, no matter how slight.
The Attorney General's office, like all offices, is enhanced through the careful and measured use of its power.
I look forward to serving as Attorney General for as long as those in power think I am performing a service. Thanks for the opportunity to serve.
