Issue 136: Top 40 Most Influential eUKers - Part 2

Day 609, 03:27 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by malta_1990

As many eUKers are well aware, a few days ago, I launched the survey called "Top 40 Most Influential eUKers". After 45 surveys being taken by the awesome eUK public, new and old, rich and poor, across many parties, the results are in. 63 people in total were nominated, and yesterday, as a little taster, I published a list of the people who didn't make the Top 40 list, with the actual comments respondents submitted added in for some fun. This time, I am posting the second and final part of the Top 40. You will be shocked to see some new names who did make the list, amongst the more well know.

20. Roadrunnerspeed
"RRS made me, taught me the ropes, helped me start up my bank. Then he stole the Treasury, and gave most of it back, and I think we all agree in retrospect that it's a rather lulzy thing. I miss the guy."

"Helped me have fun!"

"Though he is now reviled by many, when I met RRS he was MoF, one of Britain's most wealthy and close friends with Squiddy. The three of us had a couple of joint ventures and he taught me a lot about the financial side of erep, from donating to money market trading."

19. Litro
"Hes just that good."

"He has always been nice to me."

"he commands my navy squadron and we are close friends"

"That guy is always trying to help. Always. And I love the Ministry of Truth papers, and his charity, and I hope to elope with him one day. xD"

18. AltmerVampire
"Alt has made erepublik way too fun. Helped me come out of my shell on the forums. We made some truly epic spam."

"AV helped me to achieve my status as a MP, and has continued to influence me throughout my tenure their. He has helped me see more of the political spectrum, though we do tend to agree more than not."

"He's always setting a good example by helping newbies, he's dived straight in with ministerial jobs and is just generally awesome. :3"

"Showed me how new players can work almost as hard as myself!"

17. Horice P Fossil
"he helped me abroad and is a great friend and advisor"

"He is the head of the Army, and is very helpful. The MoD may sort out the politics of war but this guy runs the show."

"CO of the Royal Guard for a while now and also a great help in the party for me two Has revamped and increased activity in the RG"

"back in the days of the South east, Horice was there, a great inspirational figure and helpful all round, he also took control as CO of the Royal Guards and helped me greatly when realising my potential to become a Sergeant in the RG."

16. John Forseti
"His avatar is of Captain Kirk!!"

"Fountain of Knowledge and advice, general agreeable chap"

"Shows how you can run a party to very good election success"

15. GladDOS

"A PEACE scumbag,somewhat underated"

Special poem to GladDOS will be printed alongside this article

14. Sara.Droz
"Sara first got me introduced to most major political figures when I join some 4 months ago. Without her taking me under her wing, I would not likly me anywhere, and might still be a noobish two clicker."

"Although most people wouldn't think it, Sara and I are close friends and talk even now. During the run up to her Presidential bid she and I conferred on dozens of policies. She helped me to make the global contact network I use today."

"Showed alot of faith in me and taught me the Foreign Affairs ropes."

"Teaching me how to not fail,by failing herself."

HAHAHA! She beat you GladDOS!

13. Kumnaa
"Too much to mention 😮"

"I have always seen Kumnaa as the ideal businessman. He has created a very successful business empire, and I he has been an inspiration for my business. I would not be the same citizen without him."

"Kumnaa is both a sensible person and a charismatic leader. He does not value ideals or lofty words, but focuses on practical and simple solutions to a country's problems. This spirit is inspiring. But more importantly, he has taught the eUK that fun is everything, and that we should not forget the ultimate goal of gaming in petty arguments."

"By showing that things can be done without shouting about it."

12. Squiddy
"Introduced me to the forums, also mentored me in running TUP's cake shop (TUP's buisness). always there when you have a question that needs to be answered, all round nice guy!"

"One of my best Erepublik friends. We worked together to rebuild TUP and together, we made many amendments in congress working together with other Congressmen."

"He was PP when I joined The Unity Party. We used to have long conversations where I'd explain parts of RL politics & economics and he'd explain to me how to play the game. Over our conversations we convinced each other- I joined TUP and he joined the Labour Party. Afterwards we had a long mutual support relationship in many aspects of the game. Although we don't talk as much any more, he is probably the biggest influence on me."

11. DaRuler
"He just permiates awesome"

"He sent me PMs and helped me into the 'New World'."

"He brought me onto the forums"

"Because he asked me to put him here :Couldnt think of a 5th, but i suppose he deserves it, for being there."

The Top 10 are coming up!

10. Glorious Failure
"Told me how to do whats best, not what the people THINK is best. Because im always right 😎"

"Glorious Failure, like Kumnaa, does not value words, but focuses on action. His arguments, once you remove the ad hominem parts, focus on the bare truth and nothing more."

"'cos you just can't ignore him"

"Having a sense of humour."

"My first true love."

"His humour and wit has brought me through bad times."

9. Arthur Wellesley
"DD put me in contact with him. Helps out."

"Arthur has been my driving motivation for the past several months. He has taught me much of what I know about economics ingame, and has promoted me in the political arena. Without Arthur being the motivation behind me, I may be far less today."

"arthur wellesley is a pretty cool dude. eh plays trumpet, says jesus wasn't a socialist, and doesn't afraid of anything. we have conversations about frank ticheli and brian balmages and other composers and we make fun of each other for playing different instruments because we are band nerds. he is my favorite eUKer."

8. thehorseltd
"thehorseltd let me into the Navy which is basically me eLife. He let me REFORM!!!\0/ the Navy. Promoted me to Commodore and gave me lots of responsibilities"

"The first thing i did in eUK was join the Royal Navy, and for the past 7 months of my eLife Horse has helped me out alot, he was the best CO, Sgt, Col, ever."

"He got me interested in the Navy, and was a great leader who kept me interested. RN is the only thing I "do" in eRepublik and I love it. Horse has a lot to do with me choosing my military path and sticking with it. He also aspired me to become a leader in the Navy."

"Head of the Navy, showed me there was more fun to be had following a military career"

7. Stan Wephen
"The best PP this country has ever had he was wholly responsible for running my CP campaign which was a great success, losing by 5 votes considering I was inactive for the 5 days before was damn impressive. Great bloke and very humble."

"His helpful attitude towards new citizens and the fact that he helped me get going wellness wise and forum wise is what kept me in the game."

"He motivated me to get playing eRep again when v1 rolled around... motivated me to get involved on the forums in may 08 too, even if that failed."

6. Hassan Pesaran
"Down to earth smart guy, another fountain of knowledge"

"i generally like what he is doing for the UK presently"

"We worked together for a very long time, and we made a lot of impact on each other. Although I don't talk or see him as much as I did, I can't deny that his tenacity when it came to work, originality, and innovation has made me a very different person."

"Hassan has been in loads of Ministerial positions during my time in eRep. He has always done a good job and I think his term as President is currently going very well."

"I have always looked up to Hassan. Even though I was already six months old when he first started, and a well-known name on the forums, his newspaper attracted my attention. His articles were well-written, with very little bias to them and yet still very interesting reads. My admiration for him was aided by the fact that he quickly rose in the ranks, becoming party president of the Unity Party and a congressman. Hassan's impact in a multitude of positions has shown that he is not only intelligent, but also insightful, and for this I hold his opinion in the highest regard."

"He is the best PM evar"

The Top 5 are coming up!

5. Bob Boblo
"By the far the funniest bloke in this game he's taught me how to enjoy it more rather than treating it as a job and a chore. He's the life and spirit of this community for me."

"Made me laugh a lot 🙂 Hasnt been useful, but has been keeping me entertained since the start."

"Very funny, entertaining guy. The BBH has increased activity and made a society on the eUK forums. Lots of Banter"

"Has brought entertainment and fun to the forums with BBH. Which is a welcome break from the serious talk of party policy and war breaking out. After all this is a game we wouldn't play it if it wasn't fun and Bob opitimises that"

"he represents all the spammers who bring life to this otherwise boring place. Seriously!"

"By pointing out that money is next to worthless in this game."

"Leader of the fun timez! Makes the game worth playing"

"Inspiring generations of spammers, er, eUK culture!"

4. Mr Woldy
"Got active in everything you can and has helped me in erepublik"

"Great guy, made forums happier place. Famous, good leader and author. Highly reknowned and influential."

"He releases lots of good articles."

"He writes The People's Gazette - the best paper I've read out there (no offense malta, I haven't read yours yet)."

"His new player guides have been of immense help. Kept the East Midlands alive and has made the forums fun."

"New Player Guides and general helping when i first started. Informative articles. Friendly and funny especially on EM games in forum and on irc. Introduced me to peach milkshake. "

"His new citizen articles, especially his wellness articles are a great lesson to anyone who is new to the eWorld. They are the only ones I reference when explaining things to new people!"

3. Iain Keers
"He's a genius, always handy to have around and knows a lot about money and economics."

"when i was new he greeted me in Y&H and when i was abroad he gave me tips, helped me, and kept me informed with whats going on in the uk also he has been a brilliant representavie of Y&H"

"Very nice person. 🙂 Taught me a lot about Socialism and Planned Economies."

"Iain was extremely helpful to me when I was in the UK; when I was attacked on all sides during my presidency of BAP, Iain stood by me (along with Malta_1990) and defended me, and he was highly helpful during my time as party president and as a congressman. In addition to this, he had many good ideas as the PP of The Unity Party, including the creation of an international alliance of socialist, social democratic, and democratic socialist parties, an idea which I am still interested in."

"Iain has been there time and time and again, on the military level, the political level and the economic level. He lead TUP succesfully, and is now in the process of running the magnificant military organisation that is camelot. Legend. "

"His greatest success has definately been his newspaper and i enjoy reading it alot. He is also a good politician and a good current MoT. I trust that he can help the country even more in the future."

"Showed me how to organise a military/party and how to be always nice/polite."

"by being a massive cock."

"Iain taught me what *not* to do as a Minister of Finance. I'd say this is pretty influential."

"While a bit of a politician (self-advancement ahoy!), on matters economic his word is to be listened to."

2. Malta_1990
"Handy fellow to have around, great for finding links and helping find out how a few things work"

"He inspired me to join the TUP"

"was a brill president and is a exellent guy"

"he was president for a while when i was alot younger and I think he did a good job."

"Also has helped a lot, being a font of useful information. Not making fun of you when you ask those nooby questions; sometimes. 😛"

"I first became active during Malta's presidency. He was helpful and a great leader, and remains in tune and active."

"Learnt allot from reading forum posts from malta. "

"Malta struck me as very calm and professional during his term, not ever insulting or rude at all, and quite intelligent."

"President, Party President and general nice guy, he has helped me in my politcal career greatly, without him and Iain I wouldn't be here today, thanks!"

"active"

"My first PM and TUP brother"

"Malta came back from a period of relative inactivity to stand as TUP candidate for President. It taught me more about eCampaigning and he gave me my first government post. The appointment as Minister of Finance changed the way I played erep and gave me a reputation for financial knowledge that is one of my best assets today."

And with 31 more points than second place........its the most inflential eUKer

1. Dishmcds
"well experienced person, knows a lot and says a lot."

"Well you don't know how much this hurts to write this but meh: This guy is incredibly motivated, determined and I would say ruthless, he has no hesitation in upsetting people, upsetting countries or setting up a secret fraternity of spies to meet his ends. I don't really like him if I'm being honest but he's always drive me to try and improve myself and we all need someone like that."

"I took a position as apprentice in the MoT, when he was the uMoT. The work we did together helped introduce me to the government/administrative segment of the game and give me a better understanding of how the eEconomy operates."

"This guy was my worst enemy, arch-nemesis, and represented pretty much everything I believed against. At the same time, he's made such massive contributions to the eUK and has, in many ways, set the rules of today. Without him, not only would the UKRP not be where it is today, neither would the eUK, the PCP or indeed, me."

"Dishmcds impressed upon me an image of an obnoxious, single-minded, aggressive moron. He mocked me and criticized me on many occasions, and did not at all behave in a manner becoming of a lord, or anyone. The only good impression he has made upon me is his drive, and the fact that that he partially stood up for me during the time when I was attacked based on the wording of an article I made, but partially mind you."

"Well its just dish. Hes shown me that there are people who take no crap in this game, he will stand for what he believe in and not give up He was also a great PM and the PM I joined under"

"Made me strive to be better in eRep"

"an absolute all round genius, he gets shit done no matter what and I love his anti-american sentiment, taught me so much without even meaning to thanks Dish 😃"

"He was President when I started, so I always looked up to him. I also enjoy reading his newspaper and agree alot with his views. In my time, he has also done alot of work for the eUK and I admire it.!"

"He had Jessica Alba as his avatar. I'd tap that."

"With begrudging honesty the man appears to me to have his head screwed on the most. He's eloquent but specific, poised with his opinions and his reasoning appears impregnable. I don't the specifics of his CV but I do know but I know a good guy when I see one. Dish has my ear very often."

"By showing that it is game that is to be played for fun."

"I've never spoken/interacted with him personally, but I love his style (!). He says what he thinks and doesn't back down from what he believes in. I always enjoy reading what he has to say, and can say that he influences my thinking when there are controversial things happening in the eUK. I always find myself agreeing with him because the things he says just make sense."

"Dish has continued some of my economic teachings, and his harsh ways have influenced me to cut through some bullshit."

"He tells it how it is and doesn't bother about the repercussions. As much as I regret to say this, I like it."

"Although Dish hasn't influenced my personal views much (which is the only reason he's 5th) he is a constant opponent in everything I do. As such he is the wall I rail against. His experience and powerful contacts make him one of the most powerful and influential men in the world. His standing in the UK notwithstanding. Personally the targets of beating his newspaper, beating his party, presenting an alternative to his libertarian capitalism- all of these things have driven me on through eRepublik. Although we often meet across the metaphorical battlefield, he is a true opponent, and has influenced my actions a lot, although probably not how he'd want 🙂"

"Dish has always been an eloquent and vocal person in the eUK. While on many accounts I have strongly disagreed with him, he often manages to change me opinions in one way or another. Whether it's on the forums, in a newspaper article or speaking idly on MSN, I often find myself agreeing with Dish when I started out with the opposite point of view, and it's because of this that I consider him to be the most influential eUKer."

"I think it would be difficult to get involved in eRepublik without Dish making a big impact on you. He just... helps."

"His gargantuan epeen isn't for nothing - he's always active. He gave me my first ministerial role, too."
