HazzN For CP Pt1: Education Education... Erm Entertainment

You're a new player, just signed up to eRepublik, chose the Philippines, because it is the BEST country out there, given yourself a funky name, uploaded a witty albeit slightly rude avatar that you found on Google and made you lol, and you're ready to go. All excited, you get yourself a job, work, buy some food with the 5 PHP that seems to be in your account and start looking around for something else to do. Anything else. What else is there to do? Seemingly nothing, and so you log out and go and play World of Warcraft, or some other such MMO and forget all about the eNation you left behind. This is the path of so many new players. This is the reason why our population is low. Not because we don't recruit, but because new players get bored and move on, 4 days later they die.

This is the key to a population boom. Not getting more people in (though that helps) but keeping the ones we have. Making the experience fun and interesting for them, will lead them to tell their friends about it, get more involved themselves, and run for Congress. For me I think, education is the key.

Imagine this:

You're a new player and you've just signed up to eRepublik, you've worked, you've eaten and then, you see an article: ENROLL IN THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES. So you take a look, put your name in a googleform, and within minutes you have your first personal message: "Hello from the University Faculty!" You then start receiving messages, guides on how to maintain wellness, how to join the military, you get introduced to the forum, you get introduced to the IRC, you're given a study buddy, you do quizzes, maybe sit exams, maybe even get a qualification at the end.

My Reasoning:
It acts as a hook. It gives a new citizen a reason to log in tomorrow. It also helps citizen improve, which in turns improves our country. This is what we are looking for in a population boom. Not just more numbers, but more good active citizens who will one day run for congress, maybe even run for President. This is what this project is about. We don't need more two clickers, we need more active citizens. A community is made up of people who communicate with each other. We need to get these new people involved.

But who wants to play a game so they can go to school? Entertainment is the next thing on my agenda. In the UK, "finding the fun" was a personal motto of mine. I co-founded a new party with this as it's slogan. This is why I will be looking to put together a Entertainments Team. They will be responsible for running games, quizzes on the IRC (you can get quizbots), treasure trails and other such fun things. We want people to log in and find they have something to do.

More importantly, they will be involved in organising charity fund raisers. Something that was brought up in Congress not so long ago, was the PhiliHealth scheme. This is a project that asks citizens to donate money to an org, so we can purchase a Q5 hospital. Q5s cost about 300Gold, which makes this a serious mountain to climb. What I propose, is we run a series of fund raising events, games and other such fun things, where all the proceeds go toward this scheme. Regular updates will be made to tell the public just how close to our Q5 hospital we are. Before you know it, we will have 4 shiny new hospital, and be just about ready to take on the world.
