The Platform of Candidate Reiji Mitsurugi
Reiji Mitsurugi
As I am now a candidate for the Diet of Japan, it is my duty to detail my platform so as to inform the voter to make the best possible choice on election day. I will be running on the Korean peninsula, in the region of Gangwon-do. It is a terribly underpopulated region on the border of our Empire, but it will soon play host to a great political triumph. Without further delay, let me explain my major points in no particular order:
Strength of Military – As a member of the Imperial Sun Party (and well before I became affiliated with the organization), I am in support of a strong military. The Imperial Japanese Army that serves to defend the people of Japan must naturally also be funded by the people of Japan. I am in favor of significant increases in income tax on targeted industries to pay for a substantial military budget.
Anti-Imperialism – The purpose of a strong military is first and foremost for defense. Japan must not overextend herself, as we struggle to populate the territory we currently possess, it is ridiculous to think of further expansion. The army exists as a defense force, but as we find ourselves secured as much by strength of arms as by geography, thanks to General Ocean, our army can serve the purpose of fighting imperialism abroad and protecting our allies. As the world sees Japan as a righteous country and a force for good, we have even less to fear from it. The greatest army is the one you never have to use.
Promotion of Japanese Culture
Preservation of Korean Culture – While Korea is a protectorate of Japan, it is extremely important that she retain her Korean identity. As with Japanese culture, a major part of Korea is the Korean language. I will do everything in my power to promote the use of Korean language and cultural features, despite my being unfamiliar with the former. As a representative from a Korean region, I will make a special point of hearing and voicing the concerns of Koreans living in Japan.
Truth in the Electorate – Even before I first considered a run for congress, I was concerned with ensuring that only qualified candidates with Japan's interests at heart could make their way to the Diet. This will be a paramount goal for my work in congress, to see the formation of an Election Commission to guarantee the honesty of Japanese congressional candidates.
Cultivation of the "Righteous Nation" – As touched upon in my Anti-Imperialism section, the cornerstone of my foreign policy is the concept of the "Righteous Nation." Japan has already fought several battles against aggression and imperialism, and I believe this policy must continue. My work in foreign policy will pursue this goal, both in the military and the media, of spreading Japan's image as the Righteous Nation.
These six issues summarize the main points and goals of my candidacy. I will be running in the underpopulated province of Gangwon-do as a representative of the Korean people. If you would like to support the Mitsurugi Campaign, please let me know and the Mitsurugi Group, my family's holding company, will supply you with the necessary materials to cast your vote in Gangwon-do.
With the love of my country,
Reiji Mitsurugi

Great six point plan Mitsurugi-san!
Voted. However, I must take exception to your point on cultivating a "Righteous Nation". Righteous nations often become hated nations for all manner of reasons, whether whimsical or serious. When views clash and tensions escalate, zealous and fanatical righteousness may cause the lines between the right and the wrong to blur, unless this righteousness you speak of is merely a loose concept.
However, if it is a loose righteousness, it is not something that should be advertised so prominently, and it should never in any case be self-proclaimed. Even if the righteous nation you speak of is not possessing of an extremist ideology, it can be easily misunderstood as so from its very name. Hence, I agree with the current outlines of your goal of righteousness, but not its formal and elitist title of "Righteous Nation".
I do not believe that true righteousness is something that can be intentionally grown or cultivated. Instead, you either are or you are not, and whether you are perceived as so, is up to fate. An institutionalised righteousness seems to me, no more than legitimised bigotry.
I am commenting, claiming that Japan is torturing and abusing the South Korean provinces and people.
I understand your objection, but I think it stems from a presupposition that we as Japanese wrongfully claim righteousness. The image and concept I am proposing (I believe) already exists. I believe that Japan is truly a righteous nation at present. What I am looking to do is to ensure that that righteousness continues beyond, say, the Kokawayoshi administration. I want to take our righteous nation and institutionalize the concept as a capitalized Righteous Nation that will become part of our national culture.
Ultimately, the goal is to spawn a movement in philosophy, art, poetry, prose and politics surrounding the idea of the Righteous Nation.
But we have to start somewhere.
Reji: Oh. If you mean it as its own in game philosophy, and not its RL usage, I have no objections what so ever. In fact feel free to develop it further and wiki it. I'd be happy to offer you what help I can.
나는 일본이 한국의 지방과 사람들을 고문하고 악용 주장 코멘트입니다.
This is a prototype version of "I am commenting, claiming that Japan is torturing and abusing the South Korean provinces and people.", in Korean. Somebody fix the grammar if possible.
A well-stated platform. We need more of this in a congress that is sometimes too apathetic to vote on key issues!
I also support the concept of "Righteous Nation" as a cornerstone of government in Japan for future administrations as well. Definitely worth an eWiki entry.
You have my support, Reiji.
Great article Reiji and long live the ISP

A vote for Reiji Mitsurugi is a vote to prevent abuse and torture.
eJapan needs more journalists like Reiji.
A vote for Reiji Mitsurugi is a vote for the continued abuse and torture of all Koreans.
He is a traitor to progressive mankind.
a vote for kimmy just encourages him to continue doing what he does.
I need no votes to continue to expose this nation's twisted perversion.
no, that's not what i was talking about, you don't do that, but you do constantly make up stuff, and say how you hate everyone else.
These subversive elements, like Mr. Kim, can do nothing to harm the Righteous Nation. No matter the lies that he spreads, so long as we remain true to the principles of the Righteous Nation, there are no falsehoods that can divide us.
