Presidential Announcement
BuzzyTheCat
Good day Israel,
This is my first public address as the official president of Israel. Since Sadeh stepped down and appointed me acting president there has been some friction going around. Not so much between Gzen and I, but mainly caused by people outside the government throwing shots for the sake of throwing shots. Well that has all ended now. Gzen and I have come to an agreement on the presidential situation. I am the official president of Israel now and Gzen is my Vice President. On July 2nd I will run in the election with Gzen as my VP again, and the same with the August 2nd elections. At that time, so long as Israel isn’t in any type of major trouble or danger, I will not seek a third election. This is when I will hand down the presidency to Gzen.
To accomplish this goal I now call on all of congress to vote yes on the impeachment of Sadeh. I assure you that this is an official impeachment, that CJ and I are both fully on board with the plan, and that Gzen and I are working together and we are on the same page. Please vote yes so that we can now move on and end all the needless bickering in the media.
I also would like to add that the two “no” votes, whoever you were, were very flattering but they were unnecessary. I planned to get everything organized and settled before another impeachment so that congress could show unity… the vote just came sooner than I expected it to. I hold no ill will for those 2 congressmen who voted no. You did what you felt was right for the country. That is all that a president, or anyone, can ever ask of you.
I will be releasing an article soon on the importance of personal responsibility and congress elections with the same feeling of doing what YOU feel is right…not your party, not your friend, not the people in the media… you should do what YOU feel is right. That is a life lesson, not only in the game, but in real life as well.
Thank you,
Your president,
BuzzyTheCat

What a load. Its hard to make a presidential announcment when your not president. You say you and Gzen came to an agreement, but if we take off the BS lining and look at the facts, what choice did Gzen have? you have the keys that Sadeh gave you. Gzen has expressed great frustration to me personally in the past days due to this, He had no choice but to go along with whatever you wanted to do Buzzy because of what was planned out in advance. POwer Hungry IWP leaders. Your day will come... Shame Shame Shame
Cue epic debate over presidency.
Thats Right, Debate, this isnt settled and wont be until the next Election, I have no doubt that Buzzy will be elected in the next election, but it will be a truthfull democratic election, not a monarchy heir to the throne type system.
While I am sure everyone involved will not completely satisfied, I am glad what I suggested was adopted and a Government of National Unity has been formed. What we need right now is eIsraeli unity and what we need in the future is a more robust democracy and a more robust economy.
Do not lay a damn thing at my doorstep Justin. I was given the keys by Sadeh and told "keep Israel safe" I have done exactly that. I wake up this morning and I see an impeachment vote... which is very close to failing yet again. Truth is, if I didnt throw my weight behind it, the impeachment would have failed yet again, and it still might.
But honestly, I kind of feel like the speech from A Few Good Men, so instead of defending myself for the 80th time, I will leave it at this...
" I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for “Democracy”, and you curse the “president”. You have that luxury… I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way."
Justin this has been talked about a great deal. If you'll remember it was I an IWP party member that brought the need for impeachment to the top of our media.
Guess what I've been in contact with Buzzy and Gzen. I worked late into the night last night PMing both, because they both want to work hard and both want Israel to thrive. Not meaning to insult Gzen, but I honestly believe he is too new to effectively run this country. I also think that he is a good guy and that by working with Buzzy he will eventually be ready to lead this country and I think he's a great guy that will work well with Buzzy.
I was getting ready to write an article about this myself, but I don't think that it needs a whole new article. I would hope that all other IWP congressmen along with others will vote yes on this impeachment.
@buzzy. COOL A Few Good Men quote, I love that movie.
I digress for now until we see how this plays out, I have said what I have to say, and I stand firm in it, no one can move me from those statements.
Buzzy, you have my support for sure.
Can we stop all this fighting please?
Buzzy, CJ and I have given this all grave discussion and have come to the conclusions that he has posted above in this article.
This is not about my own pride or about who is better this is about Israel.
Our mother land needs leaders who are experienced and Buzzy is better with government at the moment.
By working with him I can gain all the experience I need and by impeaching Sadeh we can work better to get proposals and other strategies out into Congress.
Vote YES to the impeachment.
Ignore comments that are unnecessary and make the right decision Congressmen.

I have no problem except that I am totally against just handing down the presidency like a crown. We have elections every month where the citizens of eIsrael, not the elite and most powerful choose who will lead them to a brighter future. I support both my good friend Gzen and Buzzy, but with all do respect you do not dictate the future of eIsrael's leadership. The people of eIsrael possess the ultimate weapon in a Democracy and that is the power of the vote.
Without the freedom of choice Democracy is dead.
I think this plan is all assuming he is elected.
Jamarcus... if this was real life, the presidency would have gone to the Vice President... not the person who ran against him in the election. IE if Obama steps down, Joe Biden becomes president, not John McCain.
In Erepublik though we have a messed up system of government where someone with a single vote can become president by an act of congress. That has nothing to do with democracy, that is just plain dumb
True, it is a bad system, but then again this isn't real life. And I'm not talking about you taking over for Sadeh. I'm fine with that, but it seems to me the next three or four months are already planned out without any elections even taking place yet. That's my concern.
Like I said I think the plan is assuming he gets elected. Kind of how a presidential hopeful outlines goals before running.
I just needed some clarification. The world will be very different a month from now.
I'm just glad we could get something hammered out. I had wide eyed visions of this being a cooperative congress and it was anything but.
I hope this move and some others I have seen speaks of a two way street in congress and people open to more talking about working on problems and less arguing.
Jamarcus, I dont have any plans to become the dictator of Israel, but like any good leader, or president, I plan for the future. Of course there will always be elections... if I am reelected, obviously, I would continue on with my long term plans. However at any time voters do not feel like I am doing my job, they can vote me out every election. The same goes for when I step down. I would of course endorse my sucessor... if the voters dont like that person, it is their right to not vote for them.
Even if I wanted to I couldn't make Israel into a monarchy/dictatorship... my best laid plans could be spoiled every 30 days.
Thank goodness we got this sorted out. Buzzy, I believe you'll make a great president for the remainder of the month and into next month.
Jeff is right, arguing got us no where during this. It was less bickering and more action that got us to this position, and I"m( and many others) are quite glad it's been worked out.
Buzzy and CJ, sorry if I made it kinda rushy but like JMatH said, more action instead of bickering is better. fellows, there is plenty of work to do for everyone and we still need more people for the job. Let demagogues continue with useless blah-blah business while others will get things moving in right direction.
So wait a minute. You've got the next 3+ months planned out like its already pre-ordained. This is the problem I have had with the current administration, you just assume that you're going to get your way, and that goes against every democratic ideal that there is. Don't assume that you're going to win on July 2nd or in august, and don't just say you're going to hand the presidency to Gzen in September. Many things can change in the next 3 months.
woohoo first few days of playing here and such a turmoil. Presidental resignation, resistance wars. Sure picked the right country for a start for life in erepublic 😃
Katarina-I joined long time ago but just started again. I agree its a good time to join. I hope to run for congress some dayy.
Scoots did you not read?

That you did Katarina. (didn't notice your post before, because I hadn't clicked view all). Exciting times. I know this game can be difficult so if you have any questions shoot me a PM. You too pili rona.
I thought elections were on the 5th?
CJ Will: Buzzy can mouth the platitudes all he wants after someone calls him out on it, its the inherent attitude expressed that has me uneasy. For someone who hasn't one a single election yet, the idea that he assumes the next 3 months are going to follow his outlined path is not a good one at all.
