Wow! Congratulations on reaching level 6!

I assume you have your 5 GOLD now.

Tough economic times are upon us in the Philippines.

You might be starving because of the skyrocketing price of Food. This is the Secta del Guru Varnish's fault. They are maliciously raising taxes on the Food industry to starve the Filipino people.


MONETARY MARKETS

If you are short on PHP, you can 1) exchange some of your GOLD for cold cash on the Monetary Market. Click Market > Monetary Market. So that you can at least have some money to spare for Food.


START YOUR OWN METROPOLITAN DAILY

Or, you can use 2 GOLD of your money to 2) put up a Newspaper if you're the journalistic/writer type so that you can express your views more freely and conveniently in eRepublik. Click My Places > Newspaper.


DR. GREGORY HOUSE

Or, you can 3) buy a House. Houses will give you an additional Wellness boost on top of that which you receive from consuming Food. The amount of Wellness boost depends on the quality of the House. 1-star (Q1) Houses give the least amount of Wellness while 5-star (Q5) Houses give the highest amount of Wellness. Having high Wellness gives you high Productivity, meaning you manufacture more products in the company you work for. If you have high Productivity, you can ask for a higher-than-usual salary from your employers. With 3.5 to 4.2 GOLD you can buy your first Q1 House directly from the black market (direct trade between players/organizations). Or, if you can find a bargain in the Marketplace, you can convert your GOLD into cash and buy that one instead.


FOUND YOUR OWN COMPANY

Or, you could 4) put up a cooperative/cooperation wherein several players with limited cash can pool their resources to buy an Organization with which to found their own Company (which is what I did with my first 5 GOLD, by the way). Of course, if you choose this route you should try to do some research first about putting up and maintaining companies. Make sure that you know what you are getting into and make sure that your business partners can be trusted.

Well, that's pretty much it. I'm sure there are other ways to spend your 5 GOLD both prudently and imprudently. Other players are welcome to comment below on how one can spend his first 5 GOLD.
