Il Manifesto: A Fourth Term

Day 517, 20:36 Published in Australia Australia by Mouj

That's right, the horrible yet enticing Mouj is running for Senate for his fourth term (not in a row) in Victoria.

I've come a long way. I, as a noob, ran for Senate in the first elections of free eAustralia, and I won with a mere three votes. Again, I got elected a second time with a mere three votes. I joined the ACP and got elected with 10 votes. And now I'm back in the ADSP, running again. And hopefully I'll be more successful than in past years.

I've taken most of the following Manifesto from my (unsuccessful) run for Party President that was never made public, except for the experience part. So here it is:

Experience
- 3-term Senator of Victoria - During these terms I was quite active and proposed a few things. Two were for the ADSP and one was for the ACP
- One and a half term Minister of Culture - Under Derek's reign, I was Minister for Heritage & the Arts for half a term, in which I started the eMentor project, and I'm current Minister of Culture under patti11.
- Director of Education for a few days - Before eMentor went under the Minister of Culture, I was the Director of Education who was in charge of running eMentor.
- ADSP Party President Candidate - Of course, I was up against Br0ad and I never stood a chance, but I campaigned my ass off, and got 2 votes out of nine.
- Founding member of the ACP - I was one of the six or so people who helped create the ACP from the very beginning. I joined the forum on about the second day.

And now for my policies...

Military

1. I support a better-funded and trained military:
1.1 Dropbears should be sent to Indonesia to be trained (if they're not already there) and supplied with Q4-5 weapons. We have a good lot of money lying around, and we could definitely afford it.
1.2 ADF and Commandoes should also have non-compulsory training programs, since they are actually quite badly trained. In fact, some of them have never fought in their life. They should also be supplied with Q1-3 weapons.

2. I support a better organised and active military:
2.1 New positions and divisions should be made within the ADF, which will encourage ADF soldiers to be more active to be promoted to higher positions. Here's a basic run-down of ranks (full system will not be used until there are more soldiers):

Field Marshal in charge of the Army if a war is active - 2-3 Divisions per Army
General - in charge of a Division (possibly one for now) - 2-3 Brigades per Division
Colonel - in charge of a Brigade - 2-3 Regiments/Battalions per Brigade
Major - in charge of a Regiment/Battalion - 2-3 Companies per Regiment/Battalion
Captain - in charge of a Company - 2-3 Platoons per Company
Lieutenant - in charge of a Platoon - 3-4 Squads per Platoon
Sergeant - in charge of a Squad - 2 Corporals and 8-18 Privates per Squad
Corporal - in charge of a Squad if their Sergeant is MIA
Private - member of a Squad

2.2 Orders would be passed down through the ranks and altered according to what the superior thinks the others are good at. During a battle, some positions may have to make decisions without consent of the General or Field Marshal since there is not enough time.
2.3 Not all ranks would be used, at the moment we might have enough for one regiment.
2.4 The DropBears and Commandoes could also have their own platoon within the ADF.

Economy

1. I support a government that is watchful of the economy:
1.1 I believe that we do need to bring the boycotts into effect, not just because of companies undercutting, but also because of foreign companies, particularly Portuguese companies, will try to crash our economy.
1.1.1 We need a strict bill that strictly outlines the guidelines that will exempt you from a boycott.
1.1.2 We need two lists: a list of recommended companies that follow all the guidelines, and a list of
boycotted companies that follow less than 50% of the rules. All others follow more than 50% of the rules, but not all
of them.
1.2 We need to keep the monetary market under control by posting offers for gold and AUD.
1.3 We need to inform the public of how much we are spending and where.

2. I support more government-owned companies:
2.1 We need a food and a grain company that could work alongside the Medicare program as a kind of soup kitchen (I proposed this along time ago) that people can apply for if they have no food. Or we could just sell the food at non-competitive prices so that when the lower priced food runs out citizens have another medium-priced, Q1 choice.
2.2 The Medicare Diamond and Gift companies should stop being training companies, that is a good idea. We need as many gifts as we can get, as we are sometimes short of gifts and have to buy them. We should start hiring higher-skilled people.

Foreign Affairs

1. I support a more direct approach to freedom for Australia:
1.1 We need to be more direct towards Indonesia, we need to get right at them, breath down their necks and tell them what we think.
1.2 More meetings with Indonesia should be scheduled so we can have more in depth discussions, not just about freedom, but about our safety and re-writing the Agreement for Australia, as well as talking about a Pacific alliance or an alliance between just us two.

2. I support a regional alliance:
2.1 All the ideas about the Pacific Rim alliance are good and feasible. China is growing in power and Romania might be able to break through the Chinese part of Iran to get to our region, so we need to ally with Indonesia and others to stay safe. (Note: These are all speculations)

3. I support the ANZAC formation between future NZ and Australia:
3.1 New Zealand will have only two regions and they will border with Chile, a PEACE country that hasn't really had any wars yet. This will not be safe for them and if we merge, Chile won't attack us because we are allies with Indonesia.
3.2 We did almost become one country in real life, so why not in Erepublik?
3.3 If they do not agree with us, we should at least make and MPP with them and encourage for them to make on with Indonesia.

Social Services

1. I support reformed and well-funded health programs:
1.1 Medicare should include a food program, possibly funded by a new government-owned company/training company. (See Economy, 2.1)
1.2 Br0adside, even though he's my oppenent, brought up a good point that I agree with: a Salvation Arm system where people donate any old food they have and the government distributes it to people in need. I propose that we have an application system as well as finding people who are low on wellness, and also collect weapons, which can be used for the army, and gifts, that can be used for Medicare.

2. I support the public getting involved in helping their fellow Australians:
2.1 Ordinary citizens should be encouraged to set up gifting systems with friends or just give a hand to a mate in need.
2.2 All the current public services that have good prices for complex gifting systems are really good for the Australia public.

Culture

1. I support more citizens getting active with the eMentor Program:
1.1 Anyone who wants to help with the eMentor Program should send an article/idea to one of the Ministers of Culture.
1.2 People should be encouraged to help with other projects outside eMentor, but with similar ideas, except focusing on certain points of the game.

2. I support any citizen who wants to get active in the media and their right to free speech:
2.1 Even though I agree with our government that being aggressive towards Indonesia isn't good, people must not be oppressed within the press, as the rules indicate. If they want to support Romania and aggression towards Indonesia, they should be allowed to. But, I don't think constant spam articles are good, if people want to voice their opinion continuously they should present different, justified ideas.
2.2 Anybody who wants to start their own newspaper, even if it just shows people other articles and voices their opinion on the other person's point, can, no matter how similar their paper is to anybody else's.

3. I support using military and war to gain activity:
3.1 The Australian Defence Force, Commandoes and the DropBears should institute the military form in Military 2.1. This will encourage activity within the ADF.
3.2 Sending the ADF and DropBears overseas will also encourage activity (Military 1.1, 1.2) and gain experience for them, so they can do more things within the game.

Conclusion
I support a free, active eAustralia with a strong, organised and controlled economy. I believe in good services for all eAustralians and a strong and active military. I also support a very strong and active ADSP and all the policies Br0adside has been instigating.

Thanks to all those who have read my Manifesto and all those who support it, and vote Mouj on 25th of April!
