Running For Congress

Day 516, 06:22 Published in Australia Australia by Jaz Razzle

As some of you may already know, I just arrived in Australia a few days ago I expected to wait around for a while and settle in a bit before running for congress next month. However, I have decided to fast track my plans and run for the April congress under the True Blue Party banner.

Here is a short summary of my policies.

About me
I have been a part of erepublik for over 6 months, however I have only been an Aussie citizen for a few days. In the past, I have been a Council member of the Conservative Party in the U.S, an Ambassador between the U.S and Austria, a 6 time company owner, and a Platoon Commander in the U.S army. Unfortunately I haven't formed any strong opinions on Australian affairs yet, as I am far more familiar with U.S erep politics, but that will change in due time.

Economic Policy
I am an advocate of the free market. The only exceptions to this are as follows:
The government has a responsibility to intervene and regulate the value of the dollar so as to ensure a stable economy.
The government has a duty to further ensure economic stability by encouraging domestic consumption and productivity and by discouraging foreign investment and consumption.

Hospitals/Defence
I always support the construction of higher Q hospitals and defense systems, especially in regions with high resources, populations and border regions.

Military Policy
I support war. This is not real-life. We are not killing anyone and the moral implications of going to war are minimal to non-existent. War gives all citizens something to do and creates a sense of patriotism and national pride. It unites citizens and gives a major boost to the economy. There is also a noticeable, substantial increase in the average health of a citizen during wartime, which is very good for companies and productivity. However, I am vaguely aware of Australia's military situation and its history and war does not seem feasible at the moment, so it is not one of my high priority policies.

As you may notice, these policies are not very specific to Australian affairs, and my platform is not very extensive but as previously mentioned I am still not fully acquainted with Australian affairs. I will adapt and introduce new policies as I become more familiar with the Australian political landscape.
