We Lost Volga [President's Statement]

Today was a day of mixed feelings for us eNorwegians. After securing Urals Region, we lost Volga Region. Volga was the only region we had with HIGH Grain. Luckily, we secured Urals Region, a great region that has a great tactical placement.
I will not take all of the blame for loosing Volga. I will take some of it. I was foolish. I assumed that we already had it secured. This was based on intel saying that this was not a PEACE attack, but merely renegade Russians trying to free a region. Turns out this intel was false, and that we were left with one less region in eNorway.
A lot of you might be asking how in the world this could happen. We, such a strong country with such strong allies, how could we possibly loose it? The explanation is simple.
Even though we, meaning me, KristofferAG, President of eNorway, and bjelland, Minister of Defence of eNorway, did all we could, it was not enough. Real life issues pulled me away from eRepublik for almost two hours from 17:30 GMT +1. I lost the ending of the Volga war. This left bjelland alone, as our CiC, bohlamon, had to hand over the charge for personal reasons.
I admit. I screwed up. I should not take to easily on these things. I appologize if I let you down, and I will not let it happen again.

I use erepublik.no all the time. But as I said, I thought we were done witht he invasion, and was away when things escalated.
Sorry for losing Volga, but grain will be no problem for Norway. We will take care of it. Thank you Norway.

This was unfortunate, of course, but as long as we all can take it as a (n expensive) lesson and learn from it, we'll do better next time 🙂
Btw, this article is the proof of one thing I mentioned during your election campaign: You're not afraid to admit a mistake, and learn from it. It's a good quality for a leader I think.

I checked around 18.30 and the wall was still 20000 points strong.. I was also surprised and disappointed with the outcome.
It is impressive that PEACE used so much force on VOLGE.. and sustained it in URAL region just few hours before..

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. If I wasn't in congress I would have personally gone to help but I still have duties to my country I can't be neglecting. This is a great article and proves your wisdom and honor as a great president. Your people love and respect you and so do your allies. Good luck in the future and with getting yourselves a high grain region. Perhaps in the future a lone Spartan may wander up to aid you 😉
I only wish those of us from the ATLANTIS alliance could have done more in your defence of this region. After fighting for two days and seeing the wall size, I would not have expected the push that brought the wall down and took the region. We stand with you and we will all learn.

I appreciate that we have a president who admits his mistakes. I got just one question: Why do we now attack Romania when we hardly can defend our own territory and citizens? That fact that the Congress voted unamnious makes me suspicious; I want at least one anti-attack and low tax candidate from my district in the March elections!
