New Entity Laws

Dear citizens,

Starting tomorrow, day 454 of the New World, a new set of entity laws will be implemented in eRepublik. As we have previously announced, the community officers have created specific laws for organizations, companies, and parties.

Organizations can be a helpful tool for citizens, but their managers and creators should be aware that, according to the new laws, they are responsible for the actions of such entities. However, the forfeit points system will only apply to eRepublik citizens. The new laws also state that company owners and party presidents can be penalized if they select an inappropriate name or avatar for companies or parties.

The full text of the entity laws is available in the Forum and in the eRepublik Wiki. We hope that this new set of laws will help the community manage the New World more easily.

A new country joins eRepublik

The New World has greatly expanded this month as Serbia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore joined eRepublik. Next month, eRepublik will continue expanding, as Bosnia and Herzegovina will be added. This country is an important piece of the puzzle in the Balkans and it will fill the gap between the newly added Serbia and the already well established Croatia.

A contest, held in the forum, invited citizens to guess the next country to be added in eRepublik. The winners of this contest are The_Fico, ImHoTeP1907, carlosdn and Paradiziac. They will be awarded 10 Gold for their correct prediction.

Heh, the entities seem pretty well-defined. But seriously, do we need any more new countries? The new ones are very low in population and are susceptible to imperialism by countries like America, Romania, and Indonesia, who can move and take over a country politically. Shouldn't we be focusing on a way of implementing citizenship first, THEN bringing in new countries?

@zocky: Serbia and Croatia are considered to be huge break-points so far in terms of new countries added and your job (along with your fellow Croatians) influenced our decision on which country to join eRepublik next.

Hm, I have actually a question or something like that.
If I understand Law nr.6, Paragraph 1 in the Citizens laws it could be forbidden to vote in one nation, and later move to one other nation to vote there as this gives an "undeserved advantage against other players "?

Or even something as simple to move to a nation to vote, and then move back... (in case of a partyelection)
We have just had that problem with the parties in Malaysia as people have moved to the nation, voted and moved back.
Am I right or wrong?

@Benn and Daniel: We are aware of the problems a new country might face, but this year we need to keep our promise and bring more countries than we did in Beta. Not saying citizenship is not important (if you ask me is in the top 3 modules that needs to be implemented) but this module is not an easy task to do. It takes time to create a well organized system where citizenship is implemented, but the best thing is that it is on our radar.

"4. Properties obtained by a citizen through an illegal or unjust method will be impounded. Such types of actions may result in a permanent ban. Additionally, if these properties are sold or transferred before being impounded, entities involved in these transactions can receive a permanent ban."

All these situations where an organized group takes over a country politically just for the purpose to transfer the Gold and the Currency in the state account to some Or account the group controls.

Is this rule applicable to penalize such actions or are those actions still legal 'features' of eRepublik?
