Kiemar: President of the People
Kasius
For far too long, the world has looked at economic strength as a measurement of how well businesses are doing. How much money are businesses making? How many businesses does that guy own? How many business owners are in that nation's Congress?
Today, The Grail is going to push for something new: a break from the world's mold, and a step into an Ireland that sets an example for the world. Ireland has already made a lot of strong steps for economic change: change away from business-oriented economics and in to worker-oriented economics. State-run companies have been made to allow new workers a chance to learn the ropes and earn strong starting wages. Those companies have placed cheaper products onto the market to make things easier in the lives of those same new workers. The ultimate goal of government should always be to increase the welfare of its citizens. Benefiting businesses is not always, nor is it even usually, the best way to achieve this. The newest changes in government-based economics have been completely oriented on worker benefit, and for that, Ireland should be proud.
So let's not stop there. Why break from a working system? Why even slow down a working system? Let's expand this bad boy. Let's get it rolling on even stronger than it's been going.
The Grail is issuing its official presidential endorsement for the Irish elections. It is my belief that there is no better candidate for the Irish presidency than Kiemar. In the time I have come to know him, I have learned that he is a candidate for, above all else, workers. He does not run a business, and that is one reason he should take the presidency. Business leaders are not definitively corrupt, but workers cannot be surprised when business leaders make moves that benefit businesses instead of them.
Kiemar supports the expansion of our current state-run business setup. Nationalized businesses will allow the continuation of the high wages and low prices that have already begun to benefit new workers as well as train workers and control the prices of raw materials to create a more stable market.
Kiemar supports using gold for the funding of our government ministries so that we can increase the value of our currency not just by taking it off the market but by placing more gold into circulation. Strong actions like this will ensure that our currency deflates the way it needs to.
Kiemar supports increasing the size of our labor force by helping new citizens learn the ropes and stay interested, both through the use of state jobs, as already explained, and through the use of quick, simple guides that step workers through the mechanics of eRepublik.
There is no question that Kiemar supports workers, and in my mind, there is no question that he is the best choice for President.
Good luck to all of you, and happy voting, Ireland!

Excellent article! I don't know how someone could read Kiemar's proposals and not vote for him. Kiemar is a man with one hell of a head on his shoulders.
Hmm, I'd then have no problem leaving Ireland.
Wait, so you're saying Obama is one to do all these things? 😉
Pavonis, that comment is ridiculous. Do you have the least bit of loyalty and pride towards your country? To say that you would leave Ireland just because someone else wins an election, is pathetic. I could justify it if Kiemar moved to Ireland yesterday, but he didn't. He's been in Ireland for months.
Oh, so you deleted your comment eh? I am loyal to one thing only. And that is my beliefs. I believe in the Free Market, with only minimal State interference. If that cannot be found here, I'll be found elsewhere.
Instead of posting, we do have an IRC. I haven't seen you there.
Wouldn't someone of different beliefs gaining power in your current country encourage you to stay and fight for what you believe in, rather than running away?
I believe in doing everything that you can to support workers. The government acting to create businesses that work toward benefiting workers as much as possible would never drive me away from a country. I feel like your dogmatic approach is a little over-the-edge.
Can't business men provide the jobs, decent wages, and fair prices?
Wages will never be as high, and prices will never be as low, because the general idea is to make as much of a profit as possible. When profit is no longer attempted and instead spread out between lower prices and higher wages, workers get all of the benefit.
If businessmen can provide all of these things better, then they will have no problem competing with the government-run businesses.
Um, Question. Why didn't Kiemar write this article?
This is an endorsement.
"The Grail is issuing its official presidential endorsement for the Irish elections."
That is why.
Ah yes, thats right.
But I haven't seen any of you come to the IRC.
How does irc relate to anything that's been said in this article or conversation?
Also, I've been in #e-ireland numerous times and have had multiple long talks with Theus there.
Good Job, I love the article.
I endorse you.
If some one ran with a platform like this in the U.S., he would be called a socialist, a traitor, and an enemy to business. There's a left-majority, but it always seems so conservative.
Anyway, good luck Kiemar, you'll do a good job.
AP-Its hard for some people to get on IRC. Everytime I try to go on it my computer freezes up.
This presidential election is a shambles, 3 days until elections and no public announcement of running... but Kiemar is a good politician and if the candidates remain unchanged he will certainly have my vote.
Hey Thaddeus, that comment you made, up in the verrrry top, was that stab at me? 😉 "I could justify it if Kiemar moved to Ireland yesterday, but he didn't." 😛 Otherwise this guy seems pretty legit, I like the idea of nationalizing businesses and keeping high wages where they are at. 🙂 Good article. Voted.
It's a stab a political takeover. I assume you're not part of one.
Well I was just notified Theus left Ireland yesterday, so it took me a little while to get a manifesto together. It's now up in the media for all to see. Thank you all for your support.
