Evaluating Congress; Or Can I Get a 'Hell Yea' For The Following People?

Day 429, 12:10 Published in USA USA by ProggyPop

Over the past month I've had the pleasure of serving as the Chairman of Proper Protocol and Procedure (CP3). In that role, I've helped develop the Speaker of the House and pushed for a committee system. We're also looking at refining the procedures of Congress and improving our general efficiency. Even though I have strongly ideological viewpoints, I am a huge advocate for efficiency and order. I'd rather have an orderly, efficient, and productive Congress than a messy, disorganized chamber that happens to agree with my viewpoints.

I've been thinking about this past term and some of the work we've done in advance of these upcoming elections. In my opinion, this was the best term of Congress since the advent of V1. We created compromise litigation, fully vetted and debated proposals, and set the groundwork for future development. There are certain Congressional reps who have done more than others. I'm not going to call out the bad ones, but I'd like to recognize the best representatives out there. So, I've created the list of

The Five Most Effective Erepublik Congressional Representatives

#1) PrincessMedyPi (UCP-AK)

Not only is PrincessMedyPi the Vice President, but she's also a terrific Congresswoman from Alaska. PMP is at the center of every discussion. She's helped push forward the Speaker concept, Congressional committee's, and a variety of other discussions. The major benefit about PMP is that she's always pushing discussion forward. She doesn't act as a road-block but tries to find compromise, new ideas, or alternative ways to keep a discussion going to a conclusion. She is the textbook definition of an effective Congressional representative.

#2) Ananias (USWP-OR)

The Congressman from Oregon is one of the most effective coalition builders around. Ananias was instrumental in forging the CTPA, the recent comprise tax that set across the board tax levels in most industries. Ananias never puts ideology over pragmatism. He oftens works better with right-of-center Congressmen than people on the left. He is the consummate professional and always treats fellow Congressmen with respect.

#3) Jewitt (UCP-TN)

Jewitt is a big ideas type. He's an economic policy wonk and one of the strongest representatives on statistics. His economic knowledge was instrumental in the creation of the CTPA. Jewitt is a true wonk working to inform Congress, as he was tracking daily developments of the cost of goods in each industry for weeks after the start of the CTPA. If you want economic stats and information, you go to Jewitt.

#4) GoBucks (USWP-OH)

GoBucks is one of the best advocates for an open Congress. His claim to fame is the number-cruncher of Congressional activity. His article evaluated the activity of Congressmen and gave the people a great evaluation of their representative's work from an objective perspective. His proliferation of Congressional information is usually a top-rated piece and he's consistently relayed important information and stats to the public.

#5) Publius (Lib-SC)

Publius is another big statistics guy, but he finds a way to publish huge spreadsheets on a sweeping range of topics. He's been instrumental in evaluating on MPP foreign policy practice and he's also a well-versed economics master. Even though he is strongly rooted in the libertarian philosophy, he was worked across the aisle to develop and expand rational, common-sense proposals.
