Congress Campaign: Part Two

Day 428, 19:16 Published in USA USA by Kyle321n

Hello citizens of Indiana!

Well it's almost the 25th and you know what that means! (New citizens might not so I'll explain!) Indiana Congressional Elections!

State eHistory
Our wonderful state has never had 2 citizens officially run in the 2 months that regional elections have been around. In November I ran unopposed and won with a solid 13 votes! It was exciting to watch... (not) Then in December I was going to run as a Nationalist, but the top 5 rule did not allow me to run from my party. I campaigned and had people asking me all day that they couldn't see me on the ballot. Well I didn't show up do to the ridiculous top 5 rule. But that's in the past. This month I have an opponents from the CvP, Kuhnini, and the USWP, amin es (an Iranian). As soon as I post this I will offer to Kuhnini and amin es to hold a debate between the 3 of us with unbiased moderators.

Today I come to you as a member of the Nationalist Party (Join the fastest growing party in the world today!), who was granted access to run as a member of the UCP. I would like to thank Angrr, the party president of the UCP and my friends at the UCP for allowing me to run in their great party. Once the elections are over I will be moving back to the Nationalist Party, and if I win I will be representing the NP in congress. I want to let you know this so when you see me run as a UCP member you won't be confused. All Nationalists who are running in another party are instructed to do this, and as a founding member I should follow my own rule!

---My goals---
Well as I've stated in the congressional forum (http://erepublikusa.com/forums/index.php?board=8.0 Join the eUS forums and become an active part of your country!) I don't think the congress is going to be extremely active this term. While I think there may be some gungho people going into congress to try to fix prices or build hospitals and Defense Systems (DS) in their state, this just isn't going to happen because they say so. Hospitals and DS's have already been planned out, and there's nothing that's going to change that plan (unless there's a crazy world war the takes away states from the US). As for taxes, recently the Comprehensive Tax Policy Act (CPTA) has been finished and congress needs to see how prices react in wartime and peace periods. I am all for this policy and supported it when there was discussions of whether or not we should have a a Comprehensive Tax Plan. We should give it a chance by not changing any taxes until we see what happens. I believe a month of no taxes changes would be ideal and then we can start looking at what the prices have done.

---My Platforms---

War
I'm pro war, but I'm not pro expansionism. I believe a war here or there is good for the economy, morale, and wellness of the citizens. I don't believe we should hold regions that do not belong to us.

I also believe that we should send the Marines and High strength Army members to help in any and all Atlantis Operations. While this isn't a Congressional matter, I thought I'd bring it up. We need to get our guys stronger, and by starting a battle or 2 every now and then will only help us.

Economy
I believe that every market should be a free market and under the rules of capitalism. There is no reason why every company can survive in the markets, and if they can't then they are not properly run.

Hospitals and DS's are by the nature of the game socialized, so they are an exception to the rule. I believe that if a respectable business owner wants to start up one of these companies the government should help him a little. We currently have a system set up where only Q4's and 5's will be bought. Right now there's only 2 US run hospital companies that can sell here (which I don't mind since I am one), but I believe we should be able to purchase these a little faster.

Alliances and MPPs
I hate discussing the Alliance, since I feel it's horribly managed (not by the US but by the heads of Atlantis), but it's an issue that needs to be brought up. I think the US should stay in Atlantis for it offers us quite a bit of protection, but I believe we should reform it some. I am not in any sort of discussions with Atlantis heads, but it seems that we do not have an open policy with granting membership into the alliance. I feel this is bad since we need to get newer, smaller members to help "prop up" these countries. If we let PEACE get all of the developing countries, soon they will be an unstoppable force.

As for MPPs: I believe the US should maintain it's current MPPs and then expand it to 1 developing country. Every "strong" Atlantis country (UK, Romania, Sweden, US, Spain) should pick a developing country and support them through an MPP for several months. We should also allow those 4 or 5 countries membership into Atlantis. Once they are developed countries like Canada, Finland, and the rest of Atlantis, then we don't need to maintain MPPs with them, but if they are strategically located I believe it'd be best to keep them up.

Well that's about all I've got. So I'll leave you with some parting words:

I may not be the best congressman in the country but I will try my best, keeping you up to date on votes that happen and discussions from congress, and always responding to your PMs and questions. And as Radiohead has sai😛 "If you try the best you can, the best you can is good enough".

And finally another Radiohead quote: "Bring down the government, they don't, they don't speak for us", but I promise I will do my best to speak for you, and I will offer "no alarms and no surprises"

So vote this article up and on January 25th, "Vote Sexy, Vote Kyle".

PS: if you notice this was Part Two, aka: "The Congressional Campaign". Part One: I am your hero is the previous article.
