Declaration of Grievance Against Sweden by Germany
Bundesministerium des Inneren
Recently, Germany noticed a new donation proposal in the Swedish congress:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/Sweden/law/1139
According to messages posted on the Swedish national forum, this DEM is to be used to fund the Q5 defense industry in Germany.
This contradicts previous arrangements and intentions made with Germany, both to donate the DEM to the national org "Bundesbank" and to arrange for the German acquisition of said defense company located on German soil in Bavaria.
Germany asks that Sweden notify us when they are to abruptly change policy in such ways as this in order to promote unity between our two great nations. It pains us when such a great friend and ally hides information from Germany especially pertaining to large sums of German money.
So, Germany formally warns Sweden that it will declare an EMBARGO against Sweden upon election of either DKN or Justin Tyme if Sweden does not renegotiate some terms with Germany. Both Candidates agree on the Embargo Act, although it pains them to do so. We want nothing but peace and companionship between our two great nations; and believe us when we say we are truly sorry it has come to this. This is by no means a declaration of hostility; it it simply a sign to show that Sweden cannot betray agreements among friendly nations. If Sweden does open diplomatic ties and renegotiate with Germany, the embargo will be fully dropped.
Again, Germany apologizes to Sweden for this, but if Sweden wants to deny economic information with Germany, then Sweden cannot cooperate with Germany in trade.

I am sorry about what happened and hope we can solve problems soon. Definitely agree to that text!

I also endorse this proposal. I truly hope the Swedish government will be more open to Germany and come back to the negotiation tables!
I do so hope this can be resolved without an Embargo against Sweden. I want to see relations with Sweden progress, not stall.
voted, Sweden cannot do anything what they want
I have brought this to the attention of Kongress.

viel glueck!
The following statement is my own, personal opinion, and not anything but my own.
It is not Sweden's intention to ruin Germany's economy by running companies there and braking any promises, so rest assured. However, at least I am interested in the defence system that were under construction, and thus I support completing that one, and sending it to a Swedish account. As far as I know we only said that we (might) sell you the company (although there still seems to be some conflict on for which prize), but never agreed on anything regarding the system under construction. Thus we are not doing anything wrong.
As for the money, it is necessarily, since you have a minimum-wage. How to solve this haven't been discussed as far as I know (but since I have no access to "Regeringen" (nor have asked for it) it could have been behind the scenes), but I would suggest that you allow us to send workers down to fix this. If we were allowed to do this then the money will stay within the Swedish system, and then when the workers can donate the DEM to the Swedish state (with a compensation in SEK) then the state easy can send Germany the DEM. Solving the situation this way we are not braking the other promise either, and are not risking damaging the German economy. I wouldn't support something with too great risks.
From my point of view we are not braking the promises, we are just delaying them a month. However, since this haven't been decided yet, and we are just discussing this matter now, and because of that we haven't informed Germany yet. I cannot answer why we were so hasty with the transfer of the DEM; that I do not know. Thus I have yet to vote, but I do believe it is for the sake of preparation.
I hope this cleared out some matters. And as I said above - this is my personal opinion, and nothing else.
Jac Vobar, congressman, Sweden.
From the germans it sounds like Sweden is breaking a contract, how come?
We have never promised you a Q4 hospital nor a Defense Systems Factory. I have argued that you should be given the Q4 Hospital and asked you to discuss the matter with President Danny, I have never promised cause I can't do that. I'm neither the President nor the congress.
This reaction from the germans surprices me like a lightning bolt from a clear sky. I though we could discuss things and not immeadeately jump the gun and threat with an embargo.
If the communications regarding the Q4 hospital have been poor I think its sad.
DKN didn't you talk to Danny about it? I told you to do so for a long time ago.
-= "PM from Misho to DKN sent 2008-11-26 05:12:23
Talk to Danny about this, I'm not sure but Sweden might have a Q4 Hospital to you free of charge." =-
What happened?
Best regards

Well, the thing that jumped was the proposal to donate 32k DEM right after we have published our monetary market strategy.
I talked with Danny about it and I tried to reach him yesterday but then thing screwed up. I asked several times in our Embassy to inform us about a final decision what Sweden will do with the weapon system and our DEM. Nothing happened for days and then we were faced with such a law proposal. We have problems with our currency and we have not enough wood...even not enough worker and we just see Sweden donating 32k DEM to a company located in eGermany. And although there were several questions from me - typically no information reached us. So what would you feel?
Last thing I heard from Danny was that we are not the only one interested in a q4 hospital and the Congress will decide.
That's why I demanded yesterday one Swede that is empowered by the Congress to deal with us - but instead we just got that proposal. What we see here in all that proposals and reactions is just because of a lack of information - a lack of communication.
Let's take this as chance to upset something (ambassador or what ever you want) that helps us to speak to each other before proposing laws to each other that could hurt or influence the affairs of another nation.
BTW: We haven't propose anything yet - but see the DEM in Germany!
Apparently we had 2 hopitals and there where 3 newly restored neighbours, in order Poland, Finland and Germany if I'm correct.
Sweden have discussed to give Germany a Hospital as a show of good will to a newly resisted neighbour. Sweden gave Poland one, they where so to speak firts in the que.
If I understood correctly there has also been problem with a bug when 'donating/selling' one of the hospitals.
Now it seems like the second of the two hospitals has been promised to Finland - I say seems cause I do not know - which would leave the swedish stock of Q4 hospitals on Zero.
Of course we would like to help all three neighbours, but we can't do magic.
If there has been a lack of communications I feel that is sad, but I don't like to play a blame game. Sweden can fail in communication and so can Germany
http://www.erepublik.com/en/a[..]108/1
But honestly, Sweden might fail to give Germany a hospital for free and the german reaction is a threat of trade embargo? I fail to see the propornationality and the wize diplomacy in this.
I realize now that Germany has problems with DEM in it's economy, I know real life economics but not eRep economics so I'm perhaps not the right person to comment on that. But if Sweden transfer 36000 DEM to a company in Germany to be used to pay high salaries to german workers these DEM will be a great injection in the German economy.
From taxes they later will end up - or pass through - the German state coffins.
Isn't that a good thing?
Sincerely
Misho

I'm amazed how you people try to demand things that the Swedish government never promised to you.
Threatening with an embargo against another country is very hostile, especially if the embargo is built around rumors/your believes...
I hope everyone in the Swedish congress vote correctly, this shouldn't be taken easy.
The FBS government has a record of being reluctant to help leftist governments. They wanted to stop socialism in Russia and sent the army there for instance. And now they don't want to help Germany any more.
I would say that they are very disappointed with the current German leadership and government. They had likely hoped for a german puppet-state. Now the president & co changed their mind on German independence. They are going to halt the release of German territories.
We just want you to speak with us...not just a few pm's a real dialogue. Of course there will be no embargo - damn it, are we the only new country that has no Swedish ambassador in Germany?
Sweden don't you see how much we need you? We can go on not speaking and pushing a spiral into things we both don't want or just set all things back before the proposal of 32k DEM and speak about it on a round table.
Keep in mind the entire reason Germany was ceding Saarland as a strategic Swedish base was because Sweden was going to give Germany a Q4 hospital in Thuringia. If Sweden does not carry through with its side of the agreement, Germany will be unwilling to let the Swedes keep Saarland.
We promised Saarland to Sweden in exchange for a Q4 hospital, and Germany intends to keep that promise if Sweden will carry through.
We have made no agreements with you, whatsoever. Discussions are not the same as deals.
On a side note, Sweden does not care if you are unwilling to let us keep Saarland or not. I'm not saying that we will just take it, but fact is, Sweden is the one in a position of making terms. Not you. We have been very generous on you, cause you're no threat to us.
I'm not anti-Germany. I'd love to see the previous congress decision to go through, but I will not have my country be insulted without repurcussions.
hahahaha😃 quite funny situation🙂
just embargo them! F*CK sweden
One sentence is common known in Polan😛 "If you give him only a finger and he will want a whole hand".
A trade embargo sounds like an overreaction and a threat to my country. I want Sweden to be allied with Germany and that the cooperation goes on. Personally, I don't feel like helping Germany if there is political media bias and mud-throwing against my nation going on and no Germans react against it. Do all Germans agree about the embargo or is this just radical propaganda?
I would go for an embargo because the FBSers (members of the corporate elite), wouldn't be able to flood your market with their own products causing an impossible situation for German industry.
You should also buy a lot of guns, because Atlantis and Sweden have agreed to stop the liberation of Germany now.
This should have been called "Declaration of Getting Owned by Sweden, written by Germany".
This is all incredibly blown out of proportion by both sides.
as i see it, this is an "official" announcment, am i corecct?? if that is the case, how come germany's president says it wont be an embargo, and please germans, stop the bullsh*t, and listen to Danny, you are in absolutly NO position to make threat's , and think about this, the more you thjreaten us, the less we wanna help you, do you seriously think we even wanna donate a q1 hospital if you just complain about it's quality? IF we give you somthing, why complain? if WE want to help you get some regions back, why the hell complain over a hospital and defence system????
Heh I make a career of insulting Sweden and I get my nation back beginning today,
You make 1 article and you lose the rest of yours.
I know you tried to be diplomatic in your threat, but obviously it was a bad strategy. :/
Neo please realise that isn't the German people complaining, it's just a few in power requesting that they be informed of changes made on what they thought the plans were. I've heard of promises made in PMs that were not kept which is what has brought this on, though I agree it's foolish of us to threaten an embargo on the nation that so gratiously granted us our freedom. I hope that this can simmer a bit and you realise not all Germany is a bunch of crybabies, we all need Sweden to be willing to help us and I feel it would be unfair to punish the entire nation on the actions of the few that currently have the most influence. In my opinion both sides are over-reacting to the situation, we need to all take a breather and talk about what's going on without the threat of embargo or the threat of no longer supporting liberation. For the good of us all.
I think Germany and Sweden should push for better talks. I will try to recommend to the President to push forward peace and also have a neutral party to negotiate. It is time we do not stall. It is time we move on to an era of change and peace. By showing peace and friendship between Sweden and German, we can push for global peace. That is my agenda as congressman. It is time we push forward the peace agenda and put away childish politics of embargos and back lashing.
