Good Morning Dear Citizens of Russia,
My name is Smirnoff. By writing this article, I am announcing my candidacy for Congress.
Currently, I am a president and founding father of the Free Russia Party (Партия Свободная Россия). I am also one of the proud founders of еРеспублика.ру (www.eRespublika.ru/forum), a discussion area for Russian citizens, companies, political parties, and foreign embassies.
First of all, I would like to share my views about current situation in Russia. Russia just got its independence and depends on strong and clever decisions. I fought for Russia in resistance war and I will continue improving Russia until I feel that Mother Russia is on the right track. We, Russians have to build everything from the beginning. There are almost no parties, businesses, and people. Thus, I will concentrate my platform on these issues. Below I will discuss my position regarding Russian society, politics, and economy.
The number of Russian citizens is very low. I will do my best to attract people to Russia from foreign eRepublik nations and other gaming /social websites with Russian user base. If elected, I will propose a fair citizen fee. Russian citizens will not struggle to find their food and shelter. I will make sure we have a great welcoming message, and detailed outline for new members of our community. For example, the letter will include major parties to join, companies to work in, newspapers to read, and more fun activities to do. This is a great way to escape from the “two-click” experience.
Russia needs as many parties as possible. Everyone has a right of representation: libertarians, democrats, socialists, and greens. Some people want low taxes, some people want high taxes. In reality, there is no fixed rate for taxes. The tax rate will depend on economic situation that Russia is in. However, if Russia has only one party, then the tax rate will represent only those people, who founded and sponsored the party. Parties are necessary for Russian society growth because the presidential and congress races will increase our knowledge about different views and ideas. We will have more leadership opportunities in case we have many parties. For instance, there are only two parties in Russia: Free Russia Party and Communist Party - Soviet Union. If we increase number of parties, we will also increase number of congressmen representing different views. I will cooperate with other parties to reach our common goals. Collectively, we will make better decisions.
In order to prosper, both economically and mentally, Russia needs many businesses in different sectors. Russia will prosper economically because more companies will bring competition, which will drive the prices down and make goods affordable to our citizens. The government must not control everything. The government intervention is only needed when free market fails. We also need many companies for mental reasons. eRepublik is a game, and it is not fun if you cannot run your own company. Most of us do not have a chance to run a business in real life. Let’s not take away this opportunity here. As far as considering internal policy, I will propose an average-low tax and a fair minimum wage. Specifically, I will propose an average tax in the beginning because we will have many foreign investors, who have the money to run their companies. However, we need to decrease the taxes with the time because we need to support our businesses. I will strongly promote exports. Our first region, Volga-Vyatka is rich with grain. Thus, grain and food industry will prosper. When we free our second region, I will work on getting export licenses for our domestic business owners.
Indeed, these three issues are the most important for me and Russia. If elected as congressman, I will use my power to increase our society, promote different political views, and give business opportunities to people.

I'm a socialist in real life too, but I'm quite sure that planned economy is ineffective in eRepublik (especially in V1). Perhaps I'll even write an article about it.

The Revolutionary proletariat of Russia, which has endured the hardships and slavery of capitalism before the invasion, and who have patiently waited for 5 long months under the shackles of Norwegian Imperialism for freedom will not allow our country to be sold once more to the exploiters, slavers, and profiteers of the capitalist imperialist machine.
The workers will prevail tomorrow.

We had a quite effective system put in place in May before the invasion, democratically run by the workers. We have proved it can work.

Labor unions is a good idea, (though, according to eRepublik Wiki, the system never worked as mentioned) but it will never replace the multi-party system.

What do you mean by 'economic planning process'? 'Work' and 'Train' buttons?

Do you believe in what you are saying? The planned economy is a coercive monopoly, and monopolies will 'always' lead to high prices, it's a universal law.
I believe that state economy itself can be effective. But the system that you suggest is not even a state controlled economy. It's a monopoly of several CPSU members, who claim themselves as representives of the whole country. The eRepublik's engine doesn't even allows to implement such system.
Let my give an example.
Today CPSU is the biggest party in eRussia. But what if one day another party will win the elections? Will you share the control of all "state" companies, like Q1Commune, Q2Commune, etc.? The answer is no.
It will need a long answer to respond to the poor nonsenses i read from Hatebot and Manifesto. I had those discussions several time and i know your points. I won't last my time answering as some devoted their life to explain the principles of socialism and communism : just read Friedrich Hayek (the road of serfdom), Hayek against Lange on planification, Von Mises (Human Action) and for those who really wonder what it means to life in the Soviet Union, read We the living, by Ayn Rand.
The points the commies make are so ancient, Marx is dead and socialism has been experienced, we know how it ended. It's in the story dustbins. No socialist experience could succeed because it cannot replace the self-regulation of a market which results from billion interactions.

I already mentioned that I'm socialist in real life. I'm not the best economist in the world and I can't predict the future. I think, capitalism is far more effective economilally, but not morally.
But now we're not talking about RL.
We are trying to save eRussia from the future catastrophe, that will happeen sooner or later because of the eRepublik economical system and its game engine.
I have not yet mentioned all my arguments, but I promise to do it my article, so everyone - communists, socialists and capitalists - people of all ideologies could sit down and decide how to avoid the crisis.

A partnership of who exactly? Right, the rich and elite. The USSR is not going to be a post-colonial base for your corporation. Russians will own, control, and manage the economy themselves... true cooperation for the common man and a means to stamp out those who wish to exploit us.

Not in eRepublik. Grev Per wrote a great article on the circumstances of war. It basically comes down to a massive population and systems of support and supplies for your soldiers (the latter being less important, as we had that before the invasion but we lacked the population to fight the 10 to 1 odds).

CPSU will try to improve the economy. If it can't expand Russia's borders or improve the economy in 2 months then you can complain and vote for the other half. Give Russia a start and see where it heads towards.

first off to make this country socialist youll need a crapload of resources and second severly underprised goods... sure all will be fine and dandy at first but over time it will crumble... we will have poor quality goods, we dont have the population for this to work and we have like screw all resources.... i say capatalism is the awnser for now and if any other parties disagree they can fight later... but ya we seriously need to avoid electing a complete fool as a president

I think effective communism is possible in the real world, though, as Niko said, no one ever achieved it.
But unfortunately (or maybe luckily) eRepublik is not RL, there are artificial restrictions that make state planning devastating for a growing economy.
