I\'ve vaguely known Roby for a while, and he is a good guy all-around, but I know damn well that he is not very active in the Media nor in the chat. I\'ve heard their forums aren\'t anything spectacular either. Yet somehow he\'s pulled huge support into the USWP.

Do they communicate through daily mass messaging? There\'s only a select group of them that actually comment on articles. I just don\'t understand it...

I think it\'s important to remember that, while any party can stand for any one thing, or a multitude of things, a change as drastic as the shift to V1 will have EVERYONE rethinking their play-style, and thus their political stance. Is it so hard to imagine that relatively smart people will greet change with decision-making that they believe is in the best interest of the people they serve? When V1 starts, everyone will have had the exact same experience with the system, and everyone will be rediscovering how to play the game. Give people some credit, give them your opinions, and then give them some time.

Actually our forums are very active. We\'ve had them (in their current form) for about 1 and a half months, and we have 4000 posts and 300 members. We also have an active irc channel. I\'d say we don\'t have a major problem organizing the base.

@Lukasz: I really have no issues with Roby personally, or his presidency, in terms of his platform, and I\'m sure that he\'ll really do a great job. My issue is with the USWP\'s somewhat dirty recruitment practices. I don\'t think that any party should recruit at all. You shouldn\'t try to convince some one to join your party other than showing how capable you are, and displaying an ideology that they agree with, especially if they\'re completely new to the game. They don\'t know anything about the game, and it\'s comparable to making a child make a legal decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives. I\'m really glad that Roby and your party makes a point to help out newcomers, but we have had an unemployment office doing that for months, and now a department of education. That\'s not a political party\'s job. What that does is buy you votes and supporters. It\'s dirty

@Emerick: I understand why someone would dislike the fact that we recruit, and the fact we publicly announce that we recruit. What I don\'t understand is why you think recruitment is dirty. In real life and in games there is always recruiting so why is it so wrong and \"dirty\" in Erepublik. If you don\'t believe there\'s recruiting in games go sign-up on NationStates and you\'ll see what I mean. Also its not like once you join a party you are bounded to that party for the rest of your eLife. Our recruiters aim, not only, at gaining citizens to our party, but at helping those new members for the first few days in the game, At any time if a new member is upset with the party all that they have to do is leave.

Yeah Bucks, I\'ve heard your argument over and over. I\'ve been talking about this for months. The reason it\'s dirty is that is that it\'s a form of bribery. I know my argument isn\'t rock solid, but hear me out. You offer the newbie the one thing that\'s most valuable to them when they first join: tips. First, we have a federal department(two, now) dedicated to that. If Roby really wanted to help people, he would\'ve worked for the UEO. It\'s partly my fauly, I was in charge of it at the time, and I could\'ve offered him a job, but I didn\'t.

So, the USWP offers people the most valuable thing they can give them, in spite of a federal program designed to do just that, and then sugest that they join their party. Gee, what do you think will happen. It\'s not rocket science, so why hasn\'t anyone else ever done it? Because it\'s dirty politics. Its a way to get yourself ahead.

Now, I\'m not sugesting that Roby is a terrible person. He seems pretty alright to me....and I\'m not sugesting that \'his\' platform was terrible. That was also really good, and offered things that the other candidates didn\'t even think of. The way that I see it, when I look at what he\'s done(took over a party, recruited, offered them help, created a community, ran for president), it all seems to have led up to this point.
