A week after we elected Dishmcds as our new president, our e😜resident answers a few questions on his 3 terms, his life, and his future. A few of the questions I sent him recieved joke answers, so I had to catch up with him in the eUS chat to get them answered seriously.....but we can't blame Nave for wanting to be silly, he's obviously had a lot of pressure just taken off of him

It's June 2, your first day out of the presidental seat in three months. How does it feel? Liberating, or were you reluctant to give up the chair?
At this point, it's liberating. I needed a break from the responsibility that comes with being president. Now I am free to travel to other countries, express my own opinions, smoke eCrack, and be politically incorrect. It's lovely.

What do you think has been your greatest accomplishment as president?
Doubling the GDP, then rebuilding the US, finally signing some incredible MPPs.

Your greatest failure/disappointment?
The Canada-America War. In a way, this was not as costly as we all believe; it showed the tremendous fortitude of eAmericans. We miscalculated -- the admin's changes on wellness and the ridiculous defender's bonus threw us off. Also, Canada's willingness to fight back was unprecedented, something we have not seen on the same magnitude since. It didn't help that many people were biased against us because of real life affairs. Anyway, I took some extra measures to ensure that the war ended on good terms for us. The final peace proposal was a status quo ante bellum: same as before the war.

What promises or plans that you made as you were running for president originally or in your [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/press_release-8922.html] innaugrual address[/a] do you think you followed through the best?
We definitely established foreign relations. In the beginning of my term, the US had an isolationist policy that would have led to disaster given the upcoming changes in the game (mainly, war). Now our MPP list is more full than any other country's in the world.

Also, our the changes in our currency market were permanent and led to economic growth as I predicted. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts now that Dish is changing it a bit.

And what did you not accomplish?
Never invested in foreign nations as a country (I did personally, though). Also, the Federal Reserve never became a full-fledged bank.

Looking through your article list, there are a lot of programs that you've announced, but never got off the ground(CEP is an old one, and your most recent [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-244511.html]announcement of new government agencies[/a]). What do you contribute to this? What advice do you give to the new president regarding government jobs?
This might be a personal problem of mine. I know what needs to be done, how it needs to happen, and how long it would take. I don't have unlimited time, so I always feel like I should delegate responsiblities. However, logical or not, I don't trust people to complete tasks properly, so I never end up utilizing the programs I introduce. I think Dish will be able to do a better job, but who knows?

Although one of your programs was successful, and has since been taken over by President Dishmcds: [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-235082.html]Project Mayhem[/a], you dubbed it. What do you think set this apart from the others?
We all have to remember that this is a game. Yes, it is a bit more intellectual than Super Smash Brothers. No, the graphics are not as nice as GTAIV. But, still, this is a game, and the point is to have fun. Project Mayhem capitalized on this.*
That has nothing to do with my question, except for the words Project and Mayhem....project mayhem was the gifting operation............
oh i thought that was the fun operation. well, fuck that. too much work. i dont support the gifting operation. how much did i pay you, emerick how much did i spend on it?
You payed me 30G and spent probably....idk a few hundred?
probably

You declared war on Canada the first day that war was available. How long did you discuss this with your cabinate? What were the pros and cons that you discussed, and what led you to eventually decide to do it?
We did it for the lulz.
After pressing him further, I got these ansers:
1) Expand early -- we predicted that everyone would
create MPPs later and it would be impossible to actually attack
anywhere. Meanwhile, if we expanded, the growth we would receive in
the long run would be tremendous
2) For the lulz -- everyone started to get bored with the game and everyone was interested in the war module. The war might have hurt our economy, but at least it severely increased activity within our country.
3) Canada sucks - with the exception of Fonti, Aitken, Wilkmot, and a few others, most of the eCanadians suck.
4) Some of our allies wanted us to invade

Let's touch on your life before the presidency.
You've always been very successful with everything that you've done. You had great training companies, one in every industry at one point. Your newspaper was popular even before it became the voice of the president. And it's very well known how rich you are. Do you think that you came in to the right place at the right time, with just the right knowledge, attributing it all to luck; or would you say that you worked very hard to achieve all that you did, and that was the main factor?

Part of it was luck. I came onto the political scene at the opportune time -- as the economy was collapsing, as the president was deciding not to run again, when there was an influx of new, idealistic players. I worked extremely hard, though, to make it all happen.

What do you think was the single most important thing you did before running for president, even party president of the (then)Libertarians?(the catalyst, if I may)
Figure out how to make money. There are a bunch of ways. It helped me understand the economy as a whole and helped fund all my programs. I would divulge all my methods, but if other people start doing it, I have no competitive advantage. Maybe I'll share if I quit the game ... 😉

Back to the present....
There's been a pretty big surge recently from gfaqs. About 40 RIers have moved to Baton Rouge and most have joined the GFAQS party. There presence has pushed GFAQS into the #1 party spot. How much effect do you think this will have on the future poitics in the US?

These groups are good for America in a way because they increase participation, production, population, and competition. However, banding together simply because they were recruited from the same place can cause problems. Also, in 95% of all cases, people who have played for less than a month do not understand all the nuances of the game, and therefore are not fit to lead. Dish, for example, has been playing for a loooong time and has been in a leadership position for months, putting him in a perfect position to capably lead the country.

You said [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-166621.html]on March 31[/a] that you'd increased the national treasury to 1600 gold in less one month. How much have you increased it since then, and how did you do it?
If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
Again, I pressed him for an actual answer:
At the time, I was using my own
personal funds as the treasury. It was my own gold that paid for the
war. I increased it to 1800 and left some for Dish
If you were using your own funds, why didn't you mention that in your article?
i might not have explicitly said that but it was common knowledge
I don't think you ever said that in an article
i said it during the last election. i made it clear from day one. i was increasing the treasury. because my money was the treasury
I don't think you ever said that in an article
i think i did
You might've told Dish that, but I had no idea until I got to know you
this is why i would prefer if you didnt include that questions. it's not exactly a pressing issue. i told everyone that
It's not in an article, so not everyone was told
im sorry you missed the memo
Besides, we don't have anything else going on....k I got it

Your diplomacy is also top-notch.
You've also gotten the US MPP's with [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/country-24-military.html]15 countries[/a], the most powerful ones most recently(May 31). How did you arrange to ally us with all of the most powerful countries in the world without causing controversy?

Basically, we owe Pakistan a great deal. They helped us in our time of need, and for that, we should never betray them. Indonesia is Pakistan's ally, so by association, we are allies. Meanwhile, we are the most culturally similar to the UK. Also, I have had good relations with Forconin and ZiggyZag (Norway's president and Sweden's president). The other ones just came from one-on-one negotiations.

In another act of brilliant diplomacy, you convinced the Canadians to offer peace with no conditions, dispite the fact that they were winning all of the battles. What would you contibute that to?
At the end, I sent some Americans to buy all the food in the Canadian markets. Also, I destroyed their army by purchasing a bunch of wellness packs and going to town. They went from outnumbering and outproducing us to being on the verge of an economic/military collapse. I negotiated with their president, warned him of what I was going to do, then followed through. He started off completely uninterested in peace, then ended up asking me to restart the talks. The plan worked perfectly.

You've recently resigned from the Liberty Party. Why resign from a party?
I just did that so I could travel around. I didn't want to become a congressman.

Wrapping up your presidency, [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-134642.html]I asked you[/a](shameless self-promotion lol) almost 3 months ago if you compare yourself to Barack Obama. What IRL president would you compare yourself to at the end of your term?
Stalin.
lul

Finally, what advice do you want to give to Dishmcds, as new president?
Don't let the responsibilities overwhelm you. Seriously, during the war, I would start to sweat while playing. I have never been more stressed out in my life. I am positive that no one was personally affected half as much as I was during that ordeal; Dish will probably have a "war" of his own (something that causes grief). Try to keep things in perspective.
