Other stuff:
- Today local elections take place for the 6th time in Erepublik. Good luck to all competitors.
- This is how the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-277532.html]Erepublik map[/a] looks like after 180 days in the New World. Thanks to [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/profile-189742.html]the_mihai[/a] for it.
- Our latest insider article about “ [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-275442.html]a clean Erepublik forum[/a] created a bit of a debate. Our objective with this is not to limit free speech or fun or become “big brother” (1984 is a great book by the way, so is Animal Farm by the same author), it is simply to state some simple civilized rules that allow all of us to have a good time. The philosophy we are following there is a simple one, along the lines of the US constitution’s first [a url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution]amendment[/a] so we won’t be judging what is moral or immoral (bad choice of words there)
You don’t see a lot of newspapers in real life filled with insults, that doesn’t mean they can’t have constructive or playful criticism. The same applies for Erepublik. As for pornography, several citizens are less than 18 years old and there are obvious legal reasons why we can’t allow it. The same applies to racism and xenophobia we are European based and these are considered illegal in Europe.
- [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/profile-5100.html]Dishmcds[/a] wrote an interesting article about [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-281562.html]Business Ethics Contracts[/a] - All Citizens that had no invitations left will receive 3 more
Best regards,
The Erepublik Team

Civilised? War game?
But seriously. We are here to have fun, some will simply click the buttons a day and if that suits them its ok. However there is also a matters of those who get involved in all the politics happening in the New World. This is whether they like it or not roleplaying grounds. We are not soldiers, managers, presidents, diplomats We play those roles in this game. While I agree stuff like pr0n etc is out of line, however if I for example start a campaign against British then I ask: where is the border between allowed roleplay and bannable xenophobia? This is one of the reasons I personally believe the use of RL political map does cripple the game. However am I to be punished for roleplaying? Then again maybe someone using same tone will in fact have a purpose of spreading such propaganda? After all not all of us are adult, sane, cultural people with same views. Some may have hidden agenda and I do not negate that. However for the sake of the rest of us who just want to have fun and play a game of politics, diplomacy etc it may be needed to resort to words that are not always \"politically correct\". Also different nationalities have different standards regarding what is acceptable and what is not. Terms like \"Arabian Gulf\" or \"British Isles\" are bound to cause an uproar amongst members of some nationalities. Yet should we ban them? What I am aiming at is that there are no universal standards when we are in a multicultural community. And enforcing some things requires admins to be just and therefore implement such standards. While in some parts of this site I agree it is needed I would like admins not to damage the game itself by clipping the wings of e-politicians. This is not a perfect world. And I do mean the New World. If it was it would be a really boring place.
Mhm that sounds better tho
>it is simply to state some simple civilized rules that allow all of us to have a good time.
what are these rules EXACTLY.
Are the users honestly telling their true age? 😛
You enter your DOB when you register as a new citizen.
well you have to keep in mind that every person who jokenly puts down their age as something like 89 years old throws off the system tremendously.
But it still sounds rather accurate
In Spain the average age is more on 19-20... and even less. I feel like a father...
>legal issues
toldja.
>The same applies to racism and xenophobia we are European based and these are considered illegal in Europe.
I will always find it funny that Europeans always call Americans prudish and puritanical, when they\'re the ones who actually have laws to prevent people from feeling bad.
These age based shenanigans won\'t draw attention away from your censorship.
I agree with the mods.
Ban those who do not agree with you.
Seems like a great and fair way to run this game.
What\'s the rationale for giving people who are out of invites even more? That just encourages exploiting for gold.
>The philosophy we are following there is a simple one, along the lines of the US constitution’s first amendment so we won’t be judging what is moral or immoral (bad choice of words there)
I\'m glad to hear that, it certainly sounded a bit strange. 🙂
Interesting informations! 🙂
>What\'s the rationale for giving people who are out of invites even more? That just encourages exploiting for gold.
Because you don\'t need new invites if you already have some...
Joe I think he means the other way around, if people obtain more invites, they will have the tendency to utilize them. However, Archibald, I think that if those who invite often should receive their invites justly. Those who invite unjustly, or mutli-account, should be caught rather than stopped with pessimistic methods such as the limitation of invitations.
I guess Yaotzin brings up the age in Pakistan quite a notch.
I\'m older then most the friends I have made here so far... and I\'m not that old, really( hope not to be anyway ¬¬ ) But I don\'t think age influenced in anything so far, strategically speaking...
some people typed false info as they do not wish to disclose their personal data. It has become a common practice around the internet.
Damn, bloody oldies playing Erep. I\'m only 19
Interesting Thanks...!
I think that the age average is correct, the mayory of us have twenty-anything, although maybe in the last month the average down.
NaCl u2
So we only recieved 3 more invites if we had no more invites left before this was made?
Becuase I had given my last one out on the 20th of may, just a little later than this article.
Damn, so im a minority?
@Skull monkey,
your older than i am. by three years, figure it out.
Brazil the youngest country in eRepublik
@Lint Dude, you are father!!!! xDDD
i\'m 16.... you people are ollllllldddddddddddd!
Hehehe I\'m 16 too😃
Well Emerick, maybe your string of profanities had something to do with it?
Well it looks like I\'m at the low end of the age scale >_>
oh btw - I\'m pretty sure this \'average age\' is the mean not the median average...
WE\'RE MORE MATURE THAN SWEDEN HEEHN HEEHN HEEHN
we are here to be fun
I still haven\'t received ANY invites, and you Admins haven\'t answered my PM yet.
I agree with Kaleb. I don\'t see how it is \"fun\" to abuse people or nations even when done (particularly when done?) under the cover of role play.
It is \"fun\" because it adds an entire new layer to the game.
Which would be better: People pushing buttons to fight a war, one side wins, a couple \"GG\"s.
Or, a nation invades another nation at the crack of dawn. Controversy is created, and large flame wars break out. People from all around the world support either of the nations. etc etc
Plus, this game claims to be a SIMULATOR (see front page when logged off). In real life, people swear, insult, etc. The world is NOT constantly monitored by God to see whether someone swore, and then to strike them down with lightning.
(PS: You cannot say this is the admin\'s game at this point. It technically is, but they lost complete power over everything the moment they implemented gold for real gold.)
If you want the game to continue running smoothly, hire IG moderators for both forums, games and newspapers, at least one in each country ASAP.
I\'m tired of the xenophobia and real life insults, whilst I don\'t care about IG insults.
eRepublik imposes censorship on 25 year olds.. hah!
I like to screw around in my down time. It\'s called fun.
Also, I don\'t want to be restricted in my speech. I normally don\'t use that many cuss words, but I\'d like to if the situation calls for it, like if Will Pilgram posts....
Bit late, but the problems on the bans werent that people were getting banned for swearing, racism, etc, it was that they were banned for the most ridiculous and farfetched reasons that didn\'t seem to apply to the rules AT ALL.
Great example is Altnable getting banned for telling people that his display image is a tardigrade.
Remember that when you create an eRepublik account you have to choose your age, When the window pops up there is 1973 already. So many are to lazy to change the year
Emerick, any civilised country has laws against profanity. Don\'t give me this modern pop-psychology garble about everyone having the right to do anything. Honestly, you Americans truly messed up (
Not all civilised countries have actual laws against profanity. The laws or acts mostly refer to the intent of whats being said, and whether your words are deemed to have encroached on another persons body or mental integrity.
So it depends on your surroundings on how your words are interpreted on whether you are deemed in the wrong. Legal grey area.
25 here.
Hello, 49 here.
