Waking up after 13 years in Cryochamber!

Winter was slowly ending, spring just around the corner and March 15 was the day I experienced very rare occasion in my relatively short life. The Feeling that I sometimes pondered, reflected, after seeing it in movies, how it could be to wake up after many years of sleep in coma - deep sleep and world around is somewhere else, just lightyears away from your last thought. You barely remember who you are, closed ones moved away, or simply vanished. News in TV and Papers are just..absolutely new and feelings to be alive but so lonely are present in every breath. Is it scary?..or is it interesting?
So this happened to me in eLife and for me, it was, magical moment. Luckily for me, happened only in eLife. Thanks to Plato, who made very interesting decision that we can live forever and kept my account braindead, but alive in cryochamber for 13 years 😃

But first, lets travel to the year 2009. The real world struggling in aftermath of financial markets crisis that brought the economy realy down, people unable to find jobs, frustration on every corner and university students thinking, well, we are gonna be the lost generation. I was at Uni, but not feeling lost, finishing my degree and diving into many things, one of which was at that time, as you all know, eRepublik, the famed world where everything is possible 🙂

In RL I was born in Slovakia, but lived at that time in Prague, my choice in eLife was eSlovakia. Small nation that was just born, first governments were forming and fighting for life against bigger fish that wanted to rule the region, Hungary. Most of the things were different at that time, Creators of this world were experimenting with species, oxygen, landmass..simply everything. But it was young Creation, so we forgave many missteps. And built community. Used IRCs, forums, many ancient tools, but it was a blast. We were having wonderful time. Fighting against PTOs from Hungary, many, many died by noble death called Permaban… which was just the freedom fighting battle against the multis that were everywhere…everywhere. And then, Big brother from North, country called Poland, or nowadays known as Farmland, because of beautiful meadows and shiny flowers, came to help and truly, gave the ability to live free Life. They were amazing fighters, heros. Be forever grateful to this nation. But even they, could not save us from rising Empire and our community got hammered, frustrated to the point of dying by Permaban or Cryochamber. I was the latter. And few remained alive to this day. Praise and honour to them.

And on March 15, 2023, as the spring was knocking on the doors, they unplugged my chamber and emergency automode made hell of a move, just defrosted me and woke me up.
Firstly, I could not believe that this is not a dream and I was actually alive. Nathan5 was ALIVE. My companies were there, golden burial platters as well. Just my muscles got atrophy and I was so weak, really really weak. But, lets see the world, few small steps out of the chamber and I saw, Slovakia is still nation. I remember the names, the president, military unit …whaaaat? That cant be real..just cant be...it was..13… f***ng… years! But all other things new. They invented airplanes, wow, amazing. Lets try that small glider. And I fell in love with flying and the rest is history as you can see 🙂 So I started to look up, what was going on TV and Papers. In Slovakia, not much. So I read further and discovered, that something called Asteria and CODE were fighting against each other. Almost whole World was involved. Well, if they like it, let them play  And I was told, that Slovakia is neutral. Interesting. But then, I could not read much in slovak newspaper because I did not know the language. That was new. And weird. And very soon I realized..omg…we lost..we lost that big battle. They have won. The last thought before my cryosleep was, lets wake up in the better world where democracy and freedom of nation would find its place… The earth for me stood still for a while. Literally. WE JUST LOST IT. PERIOD. But then, my good slovak mates that survived those huge battles, told me, that we live in different world now and Hungary is not our enemy, but friend. They fight for CODE and protect us. Sometimes. Hmm. Hmm.

But soon, I discovered that our community is real, Hungary is really good friend and people around care about you. That was wonderful. So thank you all guys in Slovakia for warm welcoming and Hungary as well. I started to build where I ended in 2010, new resources, companies, understanding the mechanics. Mostly new, more complex, but fine. One thing, that never changed, was discussion about bots, or multis, in language of our generation  Who has them, who have more..so in the end, that was exactly this discussion that showed me, that I can live in this world as I could at that of mine first generation 😃

And, after mixture of feelings, I was happy that I found way back, because it brought many memories not only of eRepublik world, but also reflection on how my real world moved, luckily, in the direction which I wanted at that time at Uni 🙂

And how I met new people and friends, discovered new communities, achievements and fight big battles for the Battle of the World, will be next.
