Like many before me, I started this newspaper just so I could get one more quest out of the way. But as someone who used to play this game waaaay back in the day, only to return to a game that has changed drastically over the course of my near decade of absence, I decided to use this as an opportunity to present some questions that may be pertinent to new or returning players based on my own experiences.
1. Are political parties really that significant?
Aside from deciding who's our president, and who has the final say in who we invade/declare war on, I don't really see how the politics of Erepublik really affect players on a day-to-day basis.
2. How do you start a profitable business?
In a naïve attempt to generate income, I moved to Frankfurt and tried to set up a raw weapon material company, only to realize that the cost of producing the weapon materials cost far more than one could possibly profit from selling them at current market prices. How do businesses like these remain profitable? Are they supposed to be profitable, or are they just meant to supply other factories in your business?
3. Is it possible to do well in this game without spending a bunch of money on gold?
This may seem like the most noobish question someone could ask, I know. But I'm genuinely curious if there are players out there that think it's worthwhile to try and play if you aren't going to pay a bunch of money out of pocket on gold, boosters, etc. Right now I just play this game on the side, but if I wanted to get more involved, am I just wasting my time if I don't plan on buying a bunch of Gold?
As the title implies, I welcome anyone and everyone to give an informed opinion, just keep things respectful.

1. Yes Parties are important, however on big things we tend to work together. And the CP works with congress on who to declare war on , but the CP really has the final say.
2. Either buy the tycoon pack so you don't have to hire anyone, or have Lots of raw material companies that you can work as manager. Make sure you are living in a region with max bonuses.
3. Yes. It just takes longer. I didn't spend a penny for a year, but as soon as I started buying a pack here or there my progress skyrocketed. You don't have to buy gold, you can farm plenty with the Maverick pack.
It all depends on how much time you want to invest in the game, regardless if you spend cash or not, especially after the fuel update.
It's also very important to stay informed, the community is pretty tight here and people are glad to help out new players so feel free to ask around whenever you have a question or need something. 🙂
But most of all, get into the chat, the best part of the game is there and there's a lot of fun to be had there as well. 😉
Good luck
For companies
1) wait for black Friday before buying anything.
2) for raw food & raw weapons usually the bigger factories are the most profitable - the tax for working as manager is the same for small factories as for big
3) Frankfort may not be the best place because of pollution & definitely worst place for residence (highest house activation tax and smallest house duration bonus)
For gold - I have a secret for you D1 Battle Hero medals can often be had with a single hit (sometimes no one on either side hits). And you can often get the BH on both sides (just make sure the right side is winning) and once you've used one fuel to fight on one side - it doesn't cost any fuel to fight on the other.
For Political parties - take your time and visit multiple parties - see what they have to offer - all (or almost all) of the Top 5 parties provide so benefit
good questions
gifts in the mail to you 😉
Thanks for the support!
Welcome in the cage.
Hai.
I've come back after severa years of this game, the game change like 80% from back then and with the economic part, still trying to figure that part out
If you are going to spend money, don't buy gold. Buy tokens and sell them for cash then buy 10 gold a day.
1. No
2. Time travel
3. No (unless you can time travel)
