That is taken from your Party Page, Congressional Candidates. It seems we don't have enough regions to run everyone. I spoke with Trekker, PP of the 506 party. He reassured me that we will have a Congress. It is an option, in the event of a wipe, to have META* Congress.

A Story

I was recently ask about some of my history. Since I wrote all this for a PM, and the person seemed to enjoy the tale, I thought I'd share it with you.


A Swiss Pickle

I was Ambassador to Switzerland for the US. When I left my MU was tired of the crap so they followed me. Of course we set up a MU there. It was not long before we got into politics. When we arrived it increased active players by about a third. I did several jobs and half of Congress were Pickles. Most were happy when I became CP. An old friend, Ice Killah, happened to be CP of Slovenia at the same time. I knew him from back when I was still in the US. Slovenia and Switzerland were bitter enemies. Slovenia kept them wiped. Swiss would pay them to have a region for Congress.


I contacted Ice and we worked out a NAP. He managed to get his Congress to approve. Switzerland went nuts. All the young players accused Pickles Patriots of being a PTO, which in a sense we were. As a sign of good faith Slovenia removed themselves from Switzerland. For the first time in many years Switzerland had all her regions and was about to have a full Congress. Pickles won almost half the seats, however we weren't happy with the way we were treated. Some literally hated us because of what we had done. "Switzerland for the Swiss!" was posted everytime we made a comment. So we left.

About a week before the election I was talking to Smoke and Klop from Canada. They agreed that Pickles were getting screwed. The Swiss didn't deserve us. Half joking I asked if Canada wanted to be PTOed. The answer was a resounding "Hell yes!". They managed to talk the top 5 parties of Canada into moving almost all of my MU at one time. That would take just over half of their Approvals.

As a "farewell gift" to Switzerland we all ran for Congress and most won. The day after the election we all applied for citizenship in Canada. Two members decided to return to the US. It took two days to move everyone. The Swiss had a tradition of donating the Congress gold to the government, we kept it. I told them it was payment for our work. Also we took over a third of Congress so they never did have a full Congress.

I PMed Ice and explained what happened. Slovenia immediately broke the NAP using the excuse that Switzerland never voted on it. They had them wiped in a few days.

FWIW Canada loved us. They accepted us as their own. When I was CP I made a couple mistakes. One time I sneezed while looking at Declare War. 😆 Yep, I clicked the mouse. Congress immediately voted it down and I apologized to whatever country that was. But there was the matter of 400+ gold. A few bitched but not many, and they weren't hollering "Impeach!". I promised to replace the gold and immediately deposited about 100g. Some people told me to forget it. What really surprised me was when people started donating their own gold to help me. It's one thing to send a friend some food or a few weapons to help out but there were donations up to 50g!

And that's the story of how a pickle PTOed Switzerland and won the hearts of Canada.
