Running For Congress: Not a beauty pageant candidate
King James88
Why am I running for congress yet again? Well let me think in beauty pageant terms. I could say oh I want world peace and fight world hunger. That is not a winning strategy or will it ever be. Nor am I that beautiful. Quite frankly I am ugly. It pales in comparison to Shrek that is an ogre. Yes I am quite ugly!
However I really must get serious.
I am running because I believe we should continue the progress we making to make sure we keep with the success. First of all I am definitely for NAPs with our enemies. If they come to us for help which I doubt they would we should consider that option to help screw over another. Just my opinion.
Secondly I believe our taxes should be readjusted are too low. Yes I believe taxes be raised. Putting a tax on trade I am very much much opposed unless we continue to remain under occupation I would be open to support a tax as there wouldn't be much other to get revenue other than through jobs or donation. I know what you are thinking. Nor am I a genious but I have tapped into force to consult my inner Jedi. The Force has called me many times, perhaps even a thousand. Perhaps a pain in my brain but not even Advil, Tylenol or Excedrin will take care of.
No none of us like high taxes. From an honest citizen if we are going to be better competitors, a better nation, and a nation to fight among the elite nations we have to get more revenue. Staying at 1% straight across the board is not going to get us anymore. I have a plan to start off and make adjustments accordingly. Under my plan it will put more raw materials on the market to spur growth of food, weapon and aircraft weapon production. More eUSA products will be put on the market for the eAmerican consumer.
My Official Tax Plan
Foo
😛4% Work Tax , 6% Import Tax, VAT 6%
Weapons: 4% Work Tax, 6% Import Tax, VAT 6%
Aircraft weapons: 2% Work Tax, 4% Import Tax , VAT 3%
Moving Tickets: 2% Work tax, 4% Import Tax, VAT 2%
House: 4% work tax, 4% Import Tax, VAT 3%
Food Raw Materials: 2% Work Tax, Import Tax 4%
Aircraft Raw Materials: 2% Work Tax, Import Tax 4%
House Raw Materials: 2% Work Tax, Import Tax 4%
I live by the philosophy of buy low and sell high. In order to make a tax plan to work it needs balance. This flat tax approach doesn't work. We need to be open in mixing in here and there to create the right balance. When it finds the engines of a good good economy it will beat stronger than ever.
We America your choice, your vote. See you on election day and vote for the WTP to send me for congress! Let's get moving again America!

How exactly INCREASING taxes gets more product to the market?
My idea is get it through import trade while keeping work taxes low. My thought is we keep raw taxes low then people would be able to produce it in their factories. The 6 percent import tax both in food and weapons could be reduced to 4%.
So you rather make regular player pay more for required supplies while increasing profit margins of few big company owners who can sell to American market without the import tax?
Yeah.. nothing could go wrong.
Minimal taxes are best way to go with current state of the game and no amount of increase to our daily tax collection can get us free from this permanent occupation any faster.
@zRTx
A higher import tax is pretty useful, especially if we end up without territories again. In this case, only eAmericans have access to the products in the eAmerican market, so it's fair if only eAmericans can sell there.
In other times, the markets are globalized, meaning that in order to sell enough stuff, you have to adjust your prices to the cheapest in the world, In this case it doesn't matter how high the import tax is.
Of course, if eAmericans can't at least produce the eAmerican demand, the prices go up slightly, until people are using tickets to buy from the global market instead.
However *cough* as long as you got me, you won't need to worry about stagnant production.

That's the question we have never properly figured out even before the economy changes. Who is more important? American consumer or American producer.
Because what ever option is chosen there is always somebody bitching, if not for anything else then at least about bringing back the glorious days of MAX TAXES.
MAX TAXES?

I don't get it

Not a perfect plan. Hope to perfect it. Just looking on some input. I have concern in areas of VAT at 6% though which may need to be cut down some.
Increasing Taxes isn't the right way right now since up to 80% of this money would go to our enemies who are occupying our regions.
We have 51 Reegions, so for each region at hostile occupation, about 1.5686% of our tax income is lost to enemies.
The goal we have right now is keeping our tax income as low as possible to not benefit our enemies. Import taxes high enough so no one would import could decrease our tax income...
Bingo on the import taxes point. That is what may aim is to go for my plan.

We're in a no-win situation right now for our economy. Too many citizens still cannot domestically produce without moving industries which is prohibitively expensive. Reduced domestic self-supply means that we're buying off the global market. I haven't run the numbers, but strongly suspect that raising taxes won't bring about much additional revenue.
I salute you for bringing this valuable discussion to the media, however. It's been ages since we've seen legit economic analysis in the press. Years ago I used to run weekly commodities reports, complete with historical trends. The API made that easy to collect on a regular basis. Not sure how I'd do it now.

Good luck!
First off, @ Marcel, your eRepTools is and always is never up to date enough to serve as anything but very brief and rounded view of markets from earlier in the day. Actually checking with the market places at regular intervals[constantly refreshing] can't be improved upon. i doubt even you would need it much for mostly domestic use.
Regarding domestic taxes... Aside from possible VATs from 1 to 2[less noticeable to the public], there is only the question of would hate ANY increased work tax the most: the workers or the producers.[Can you say hated, hated HATED?
Sure the import taxes are an easy target... until you view the history small and medium countries whose very high import taxes force experienced players to take trips abroad for decent prices. New players, being low on cash and/or storage space... just giving up the game.
I support 2 or 3% import... 2% across the board, subject to popular debate. Period.
...But, then I, far more than most desire low prices to support our fighters of all strengths.
[asap... and especially after getting back several more regions.]
I can support this if this makes sense to everyone else. say 3% import and 2% everywhere else. So the VAT be like 1-3% everywhere too I guess.
VAT should go no higher than 2... unless supported by our largest businesses. They're the ones impacted most... and our largest domestic manufactures practically set a global 'peg'. [although you see SOME foreign sellers it's only due to their lame economies, or flat lack of people.

that is a bad idea
investments would run from usa
more import taxes is good
but the others should stay low
Yes, but our leading economists would argue that import taxes, generally, have very low yields. Above 4, many exporters WILL drop out.
