Discord data package

In this random article, I will briefly explain what's inside of the Discord's data package.

To request your data from Discord, go to User Settings --> Privacy & Safety. Scroll all the way down to Request all of my Data and click on the button Request Data. You should be able to receive them within those 30 days. When your data package is ready for download, you will receive an e-mail. There's a timer of 30 days before requesting them again.

The ability of requesting your data has been added on May 24th, due to GDPR's appliance οn May 25th.

The following are personal notes after examining the data package I received almost 29 days after I requested them (it was the time this feature was introduced, thus the big delay (ya know, lotsa folks wanting to view their data))

Contains JSON, CSV and PNG files

PS: If the CSV file contains in the beginning the letters “ID”, Excel incorrectly assumes you are trying to open an SYLK file.

PNG files are the emoji images.
CSV files are for the messages.
JSON files are everything else.

Apparently, for the server I own, the emoji folder doesn't contain every emoji I uploaded. Like half of them only. 😒
So, from everything in the data package, the most info are contained in the account, analytics and messages folders.
For servers, it just contains the current list (id, name) and only for the servers you own it contains much more info.
There's also a programs folder, which it seems is about any Discord's program you are in, like HypeSquad, Nitro, Testers...

As it seemed, the package contained data till 1 day before I was able to download it and not till the day I requested it. Cuz that's when the zipped file is actually created, that is right before you are to download it.
