【PM】 Bumper update: rewards/strikes, jockson and NPF
10 Downing Street
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
A bit of a bumper update today, as a couple of things I've been working on have come to a head, so today's update is a bit of a bumper one. Before I go into all of that, I want to draw everyone's attention to the National Feed. There's regular updates about epic battles, potential medals and other stuff there most of the time: so I'd highly recommend you get in the habit of viewing it whenever you're around, not just once every now and then.
If you're worried about accidentally starting to like me, don't worry, it'll be our little secret. For those who are petrified of such a situation, then for epic battle notifications, you can Keep up to date with Epic battles here. Fighting in epic battles is hugely useful, because it offers you double Prestige points, and means that you'll gain the benefits from the weekly challenge pretty quick. There are regular epic battles in divisions 1 through 3 (we host some epic rounds with Croatia too) all over the world, but Serbia have been hosting some division 4 ones recently too.
To test the waters on people's interest in group hits and coordination last month, one of my various mass messages revolved around asking people for their daily login times, so I could split the UK into groups. I've finally got around to sorting this out, and we now have four group messages for people to take part in these strikes:
Morning (00:00-01:30 erep time) Lunch (05:00-06:00 erep time)
Evening (09:30-11:00 erep time) Last login (15:00-16:30 erep time)
We're going to be testing these over the next couple of days to see if this is something that is a better method instead of Discord, with strikes there fading off recently. I still maintain Discord is a much easier way for us to organize things, but I will be the first to test out alternative methods if they're going to result in things going better: thus, we'll try this out and see how it goes.
In line with this change, it made sense to look again at the Rewards that I originally announced during my previous term, and whilst I maintain that air damage and damage growth are things we should continue to prioritise and reward, ultimately, the strike attendance simply wasn't working. Thus, over the coming days we'll be trialling two other methods of incentivizing coordination.
First, I'll be offering a Q1 house per day, awarded to one member of each group message based on a lottery system.
Second, in place of the 'Strike attendance' reward offered to MUs, I'll be offering a weekly reward to the MU with the highest damage output in each division. To reflect our relative strengths and weaknesses across each division, I have set this reward to reflect the areas we need to grow:
- Division 4: Reward 10,000 GBP
- Division 3: Rewar
😛5,000 GBP
- Division 2: Reward 7,500 GBP
- Division 1: Reward 7,500 GBP
Outside of the military world, I'm happy to announce that I have successfully convinced Jack Jockson, the cereal monster himself, to return to the UK and take up position as Minister of Education. He'll be advising Woldy and myself on policies relating to new players, and will be inversely helping us to avoid cotdeaths that were commonplace in the past.
To celebrate this, this Friday (March 16th) will be our first New Player Friday, where I'll be rewarding new players who engage with the community. Concrete details of this will be announced on the day, but I encourage all new players to take part, earn yourself some useful currency, and use the opportunity to embed yourself in our community.
Finally, I'd like to once again ask for volunteers to help out in Government - the more people we have, the more we can do. The more we can do, the more will be done. The more will be done, the more you'll love me. The more you love me, the more everyone wins. So it is quite simple. Get involved.
Until next time,
~jamesw
PS: help new and returning players to complete the 100 friends mission: add them as a friend!

As i've said in many messages already, if you have ideas about how I can make things better - I'm all ears.
I have, and you didnt wont to know.
you never actually said anything other than it's not fair you don't get paid for hitting a lot of damage
🙂

" and will be inversely helping us to avoid cotdeaths that were commonplace in the past."
He's going to do the opposite of what you do?
we'll be doing the opposite of what's proposed

James - your efforts and energy are to be commended!
However, I do struggle with this ‘timed strike’ concept a bit - as to be successful on the battlefield it is necessary to be able to react/win battles continuously over a long period - not just in short sprint sessions. Whilst timed strike sessions *do* help bring teams together and foster cooperative spirit, they are pretty useless at winning wars...
Also - there is little doubt that offering rewards to those who do attend strikes and do manage *is* an effective way of motivating players - although I am not sure that handing over large sums to the commanders of selected MUs is the optimal strategy for fairly distributing the goodies. Possibly a fairer (and easier to administer) method to distributing state aid is simply to set COs (set for eUK citizens only) at times when extra effort/damage is required. These rewards do not have to be large, better to have small bounties spread over longer periods - and therefore are accessible by a wider cross section of the eUK population than large chunks of reward offered to a small component of the population. Also - as COs can be configured to be conditional (e.g. set to only be active when battle balance is running the wrong way), fighters are encouraged to inflict damage AT THE RIGHT TIME, rather than blindly running up a massive (wasteful) advantage in one battle, only to lose the next three!
This is great i could log in Lunch, Evening and Last log in i can't in morning is that ok?
