[Nyx] Juicio político era injusto - Unfair impeachment
Nyx Lynx

There has been high drama about an unfair impeachment of the democratically elected president of Argentina.
In the beginning, I thought I wouldn’t interfere since I was new, but as a citizen and an individual, I have to express my opinion based on what I have understood from the media.
I concur with people who have stated that this incident was an abuse of power.
Ironically, impeachment is a strong punishment given to people who have misused power when they were CP. This might be for serious reasons like stealing treasury or treason.
I don’t think the CP even had a chance to commit these crimes before they snatched it away from him.
I wish there was an impeach button for Congress. They could use a dose of their own medicine.
Winning an election through these means is somewhat distasteful. In democracy, you have to work hard to gather people and win votes. In dictatorship, you have to work hard by gathering people and show military efficiency.
In both cases, you give your opponent a chance.
Corrupting 26 people into defying the above two ways and achieving the seat of Presidency is something sensible people wouldn’t recommend.
People will lose trust in their own power and it is also abrasive. It might also spread the culture of engaging in sneaky politics which can be bad for both sides. It might also instigate an uprising which could have a devastating effect on the country as a unit.
You don’t have to look too far to learn about the disadvantages of division. Greece, our ally, would have been a lot stronger if they were united.
Reasons like “we did it for the lulz” is not even a proper reason to be used as a rebuttal.
Thanks for reading. Have fun everyone.

Congress has all of the power, if they wish to use it to seat a new President because they are more in line with their policies and politics...that is their right. They are elected, they owe no obligation to the sitting President.
What would you do if the Congress was unjust and opposed the will of the people?
They represent the will of the people just as much as the President does. That's the nature of having distinct branches of government elected independently of each other.
Indeed, they have an obligation to uphold the constitution, protect the law of the land and listen to its people. A blatant oligarchy can be overthrown easily by the general public in case they misuse power.
Yes it can, on the 25th.

Ok, it's becoming freaking hillarious how you fkn try to make look this not just equal to a dictatorship, but even worse. In democracy, you need to gather influence in the congress too or you might be fukd as well -RL examples: Dilma in Brazil, Lugo in Paraguay, ¿maybe Obama and the hard times passing some laws as health care?-
"YOU GIVE YOUR OPPONENT A CHANCE"
It's not as if PAI and their minions weren't allowed to participate in congress elections. Not to mention that they weren't forced to put a congressman and then run him for CP knowing they'd loose that seat (I really really wanna hope they knew this).
In RL, Congress represents the people of their district. They are held accountable for their actions.
On erep, A person applies and the party president chooses the order. It is not the same as RL. This move of impeaching a person for no serious crimes was sneaky. If SOF had any flaws, the other candidate could have used it as a talking point in his campaign for votes. Instead, what we have here is a bureaucratic coup.
People are disenfranchised as the result was different from what they chose.
Im not at all acquainted with congress elections in the US... but I hardly doubt a Democrat would vote for a Republican guy in his district- or viceversa- and in the nationals go the other way (again, I might be wrong, never been there in election time).
By the way, you are implying that CP elections are completely honest and transparent and congress elections are not... I'd like to see the difference there. Furthermore, you haven't proposed an opinion regarding congress elections are an option while military coup is -according to your viewpoint-
*congress elections do not give an option and militar coup does
I haven't categorically stated that every method on erepublik is fair. It is not. Both democracy and dictatorship requires considerable effort, the first one you win by appealing to the public and the second one on the battle field.
Wooing 26 Congressmen is a new way of winning and I've expressed how I feel about this method. What is hilarious is you trying to make it look like this impeachment was fair and not sneaky. Have all the 26 Congressmen come forward and given their reasons on why they took this decision or are they too important to descend down from their ivory tower?
I ain't judging if it's fair or not. In my own personal opinion:
Winning general elections > being appointed by congress > dictatorship
These guys supported a dictatorship against an elected CP so I have no empathy with them.
P.S: Karma's a b*tch https://www.erepublik.com/es/main/law/Argentina/178491
😃
I definitely do not think being appointed by Congress in this fashion is better at all. You spoke about a Democrat not voting for a Republican guy. I've never seen a Democrat or Republican president being impeached by the Congress after he won just for being from a different party.
About dictatorship, I was vehemently opposed to it when it was introduced. But it was Plato's who introduced it. We might not like it but the entire erepublik has accepted it and we should too unless we are ready to do something drastic about it to eliminate the whole thing.
This impeachment was sneaky, perhaps it was this mentality of revenge, whatever it is, but it opened a can of wiggly worms for the country. Congress behaved appallingly by putting itself before people.
Pasó a paso se viene el fujimorazo(?
fujimorazo?
Fujimori former CP from Perú...heade an auto coup and disolve congress in early '90
lol I get it now
A ver si me acuerdo de algo de inglés:
Impolite people do it unfair acts.
Yes they do 🙂
