On Statecraft and Leadership: the Case of eNL
Het Catshuis
Having less than two weeks left in my term, I thought it'd be nice to write an opinion article on the (geo)political situation of the eNetherlands. Since I'm in office I've learned a lot about our community and why our country works as it does. This has led to some conclusions, which will be explained later on. All views in this article are my own, and aren't necessarily related to that of other members within the government of the eNetherlands.
There are some citizens stating that the dictatorship is harmful and bad for our democracy. I say it's the most powerful defense weapon that we have, and here is why. At exactly any moment, ANY MOMENT, a foreign political party -or worse and more likely, a foreign Military Unit- could enter our peaceful country and seize it through congressional majority or through a coup d'état. In the last case, we'd be doomed as we don't have the manpower to resist a true dictator with a strong MU. Having a dictator, of our choice, in place at all times, removes the possibility of a foreign threat. Even if the event of a threat seems highly unlikely, I believe our nation must take this precaution at all times. Unwelcome influences are looming everywhere.
The issue of the dictatorship brings me directly to that of our Congress. Reaching quorum often seems a difficulty. Especially now that two of the five congressional parties, which contain the most CM's, have left Congress. Their absence are in my opinion not in the benefit of our nation. In fact, I call upon the presidents of Geuzenpartij Nederland and Revolution et Libertas to return to the forum at once and to stop putting your respective party's interests above our national interests. Managing the country is already hard as it is with our small community and you're not making it easier.
Lastly, and I feel like I'm repeating myself here, it is in our best interest to maintain strong ties with powerful nations. Having such nations as allies -or even better, friends- is our second-best defense weapon that we can have. Our community is small, just like our military. If we want to stay protected against foreign violence, we need to create, nurture and maintain strong bonds with foreign superpowers.

Not much add...
We don't have enough politicians to run our country using congress like a congress should run a country. For this reason dictatorship is a good defense.
Well a congress SHOULD run a country, that's what a democracy is about: everything must go through congress. Just right now, it's rather difficult due to not having enough active politicians
Agreed =3
Voted.
"Geuzenpartij Nederland and Revolution et Libertas to return to the forum at once and to stop putting your respective party's interests above our national interests."
if we are not using the forum, it is because that IS in our national interest. We dont care about party politics. ReL has stood for our country at all times. And we always will.
How are you helping the national political process by NOT showing up in congress?
ReL and GPN run from responsibility, they just want to be CM without doing anything.
The forum is taking it's final illegitimate breath. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Then how would you assemble congress Gen. DLR?!
Please Legendarish stay away of our political system
I'd say allies are defence #1 and dictator #2 nowadays due to the increased costst.
As for congress; We don't have enough players willing to be active in forumcongress. Therefore there is still only one potential solutioon, but afaik that was blocked; The PP representing all votes of all elected CM ingame that way representing the elected power of a party in concress...
No, it's anti democratic
Which part and why?
Everything, the way a single person can vote and decide for others
