The Sunday Tabloid 8—Because No News is Good News!
JackTrout
Welcome to the eighth edition of the Sunday Tabloid! Enjoy!
No one is complaining about the Octopuns… So they’ll stay for now...
The first puzzle today is another Sudoku. It should be a little harder than last week’s. I am going to make them harder! Fill in the grid with the numbers 1 through 9 so that each number appears only once in each row, column and region (3 by 3 block).
Our second puzzle is another Bridges. Next week we’ll have a go at a bigger one! Instructions and a sample are here: http://i.imgur.com/tpJFCx0.png
Time for those…
Excellent, indeed...
One for the gents…
And one for the ladies…
And can’t forget one for the scientists…
The Goblin shark, worldwide at more than 100 m depth
Election jokes today…
"Daddy," a little girl asked her father, "do all fairy tales begin with 'Once upon a time'? "
"No, sweetheart," he answered. "Some begin with 'If I am elected.'"
The politician was sitting at his campaign headquarters when the phone rang.
He listened intently, and after a moment his face brightened. When he hung up, he immediately phoned his mother to tell her the good news.
"Mum," he shouted, "the results are in. I won the election!"
"Honestly?"
The politician's smiled faded. "Aw, heck, Mum, why bring that up at a time like this?"
Closing this week with a quote from Mark Twain:
“If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed." - Mark Twain
Not this one, Sam!
Hope you’ve enjoyed the eighth edition. Thanks for the graphics, Mero.
Cheers, have a great Sunday!—JT

In regards to the pics, one of the joys of my job is looking at the ROV footage of what lives deep down there. I remember one location, at a depth of 8500ft we saw a 16ft shark. That's roughly 2.5km under water WTF!
The physiological adaptations that allow deep underwater life are incredible. They are some of my favourite creatures!
Love the jokes.
Goblin Sharks are so cool, especially they way they can extend their jaws. I'm not as edumacated as some people with stuff like that but i like space 🙂
3m above and below my socks. That's the narrow band of the world I'm comfortable with.
