The Rivalry is a Nail-biter

Day 2,717, 22:23 Published in Japan USA by Tokihanatsu Shibou

I have only begun to play eRepublik but during my short time here in Japan I have noticed a rivalry building. On one side is the Old Citizens of Japan and the other side are a Group of Players relatively new. When I first started I created a Military Unit pretty quickly and did my best to staff it. The next thing I knew I was forced to make a decision on one side to back Squibeel for Dictator or to play normal with the crew of New Immigrants. I chose to fight for the Dictatorship then and it ended in disaster. I merged my Military Unit with Shinsengumi and before you knew it the more powerful side installed their own Dictatorship. After the defeat Taxes were raised and the Economy took a punch in the nose.

Soon after that Tsunami was formed and as a Military Unit Commander I have been part of its discussion group. The two sides are now headed towards the Country President Elections and with more Immigrants coming in our side looks less and less likely to change anything through mere Politics. All of this has been kind of Confusing for me, we are a Country without true Unity. Our Country isn't necessarily in Danger at this time we have strong Allies and we are cooperating with our Neighbors demands. So maybe it is time for the two sides to work-it-out in some way, or has it gone beyond the precipices?

I hope the current Dictator resets the Taxes and restores the peoples Economy. One thing that could also get the ball rolling back to normalcy would be the use of more English by the whole of the Nation since it is the Primary Language of the Game. And if that is not possible maybe we could have translated articles for the Multi-lingual society we have currently.

Overall though my first few weeks have been boring medal hunting with a little hint of actual gamesmanship. It seems to me that the majority of Wars during this period of eRepublik are Training Wars. Japan requires more warfare to survive and a more open boarder policy to grow. I hope the two sides currently battling each-other come to terms that us little people don't really care and most of the rivalry predates us.
