Dear eJapan!
It's more than a month since I've started a new life here. During this time I talked with several people, including experienced players who I talked with about the country's relations, problems, and opportunities. It would be an exaggeration to say I've become an expert of eJapan in this short period of time and got insight into every process. I always read the press and I have some idea about how we could make land of Nippon stronger and minimize the internal conflicts. I want to share these personal thoughts with You and I hope we, the eJapanese people can create a stronger and more unified country.
I'm sure about that all of you know our current NAP, it's conditions and the reactions of the people. I don't want to analyze it in detail and the positive or negative side of it, rather than it's meaning. Actually this is where I want to start the explaining of my main message.
If we look at the reactions caused by the NAP, we can divide the people into two huge parts. The first part of them is satisfied with the minimal benefits of it (for example congress, and 1 region "independence"), and the others say "Quisling". It seems like the agreement made the politics wake up. The intelligent discussion will help us and it's natural part of eRepublik. eJapan has a small population and military, we can't let the people be divided and demoralize the
other players to stop the game.
In my opinion we should declare some principles for the benefit of our community.
First of all these are not about state administration (like taxes, using of CO, issuing money etc.) but principles about the working of the government and the politics. I want to give a starting point.
I have three main parts which I want to explain. So the three main pillar which should hold the balance, the peace, and the happines in this beautiful country:
1. Citizenship
2. Bushido
3. Emperor
Citizenship
Put away the RL conflicts. We know that the most of the eJapanese are Serbian and Hungarian but there are only a few RL Japanese. We have to respect each other because an important connect us: all of us are eJapanese citizen. This is the basis of our community and our cooperation. Our goals must be the same: Make Nippon strong, independent, and get our freedom. The RL Serbian and Hungarian players must respect the RL Japanese players' culture, mentality and customs. The immigrants must be welcomed friendly too, because they greatly help to the improving of the economic and military power. Of course it's not a problem if the Hungarians or the Serbians keep in touch with eHungary or eSerbia, it could be good for the country too. There is no place for PTO, that would cause chaos and hostility. We have to unite under the Sun's flag!
Bushido
The meaning of the word is "the way of the warrior". Of course it's a complex term, but we can use some parts of it in the game. At this way we could show our respect for the bygone times' samurais. This is one of the most important bases of the Japanese culture. The bushido's two leading ideal are the loyalty and sense of duty which can be followed on eRepubulik too. Serving the community and the sacrifices can describe the modern samurai. We have to prepare for hard fightings for Japan with the spirit of a warrior. The country doesn't have huge incomes so the private equity is more important now. Everyone has to do what is possible: Don't be selfish if you have to give money for the defense of the country, and it requires some sacrifices. Help our poorer compatriots with food or weapon giveaways, maybe do it systematically, or collect money for CO together. Be loyal to the current government and the ministers, because the
most of the people supported them. Fight for Japan with full power if we have to. We have to good patriots!
Emperor
I think we miss a charismatic and prestigious person to lead the country. It'd be a nice thing towards the Japanese culture if we could find this person to be our Emperor. This symbolic act could improve the gameplay. The Emperor's authority would be limited, so it won't be a dictatorship. Before major decision his opinion could be asked, and he could take part in negotiations with foreign
countries, and in the discussions of the government, or maybe get the captain post of a regiment in the strongest military unit. It would be possible for the Emperor to found his own "knighthood" not only with military but with social purposes too. The Emperor would be separated from the parties and he could direct the Congress sessions. He could represent the virtues of our country. We could elect him for a long term (half or one year). At the end of the period, succession would come. If the people are pleased with his work he will be elected again, if not,the Emperor would be able to suggest an other person, and we could decide it. I admit it that I don't know a person like this, but maybe You can say somebody.
To make a long story short: Our citizenship connect us, the bushido gives an example for our behavior, the Emperor will change the gameplay in a good way.
These are my personal opinions and maybe they need some clarification. I want you to talk over over these thing at the comment section. I read your point of view gladly if it's constructive.
🙂

A busidó szó jelentése: 'a harcos útja'. Természetesen ez egy összetett és szerteágazó fogalom. Néhány elemét viszont beemelhetjük a játékba. Ezáltal is kifejezhetjük megbecsülésünket a régmúlt idők szamurájai előtt. A japán kultúra egyik legfontosabb építőköve ez, amit bizonyos mértékben követhetünk itt az erepen is. A busidó két vezéreszménye a hűség és kötelességtudat, és a belőlük eredeztethető hazafiság ma is a legfontosabb erények. A szolgálat, a közösségért való önfeláldozás a modern korok szamurájait is jellemzi.
Hatalma is inkább jelképes lenne. Fontos döntések meghozatala előtt kikérhetnénk a Császár véleményét, a külföldi hatalmakkal való tárgyalásokon és a kormány megbeszélésein mindig részt vehetne, illetve betölthetné mondjuk a legerősebb katonai alakulatunk egyik regimentjének kapitányi posztját is.
🙂

I nominate Fruitcommando for the Emperor position.
The English translation is very poor.
Yeah el commandante could be Emperor, Seem like a good icon of what this country is now.
Probably he has a good plan to release our beloved country from formosa's occupation

I don't think that the main difference between the two coalition is the NAP.
DNP-CtG-TLS coalition supports an "open" Japan where everybody have a possibility to get a cs who wants to live and fight here. We think our primary task is to increase our population and call here more strong fighters.
Many citizens from this this coaltition are from Hungary and from Serbia that is why we have good relation with these countries. This coalition supports the alliance with these countries. And we hope one day these countries will be allied with Japan.
The other "side" are also valuable part of this country, but unfortunately they think DNP-CtG-TLS coalition are PTO-ers. Until this won't change, I don't see the possibility for the stronger cooperation between the two sides 🙁 How can we work together with this part if they call us hostile?
It would be great to see here what the other side think about the difference between the two coalition.
JUSTICE FOR JAPAN!

Yes, the difference is deeper than the NAP. I just wanted a "starting point" to show that the two "coalition" aren't think the same in some questions. This why i wrote this short chapter: Citizenship. :
The opposition has persisted as we ptoer two years in Japan, we have through the strongest unit and we never were memorized to offend anyone
I wouldn't say that the CtG are a PTO. I do think that with rare exceptions, they have not attempted to have public debate with the English-speaking community and they have not participated in our culture. That makes it difficult to find common grounds with them.
I do think that it is possible to heal this schism, but it will take effort on both sides, and unfortunately neither side has appeared willing to make that effort.
To be sure, this article is one of those rare exceptions and a promising sign. ^.^
How cliché.
A very well-written proposal. I agree on the merits of an inclusive citizenship. Unfortunately there is a divide of trust that will be difficlut to bridge. Until that divide is bridged I do not think we will see the whole country accept an Emperor again, as it was in the old days. That was a smaller, less complicated community and so it was possible to come together around an Emperor. I do not know if it will be possible a second time.
God bless Koka, true Emperor of eJapan.
Who is Koka?
CTG has made a compromise to change the name of the unit that everyone from Japan can take the prize in the tournament, and how we are able we are here to help
The amount of damage a group produces in a battle does not prove they are ether a PTOer or not, one could say they are not because they fight for eJapan, another can say they only fight so they have regions to control when they finally do succeed in PTOing eJapan. Why do you fight for eJapan? To protect the community and culture that was established here 6 years ago, or to destroy it and replace it with your groups personal ideals?
To fight for eJapan, is to fight for its culture, traditions, and citizens. But when one side comes in, some through immoral ways of bribery and ignoring immigration laws, to begin forcing their ways and control onto an established community in dishonest ways is obviously a take over and the reason why one side has trouble gaining trust. eJapan has its ways of doing things, and breaking them is an attack on our community's structure.
No one wants their community to be attacked and destroyed, this separation won't end in till the attacking side actually tries to be apart of the community, at least create some sort of fusion between eJapan's established community with the new immigration coming to eJapan.
~My 2 cents, though I have been on break for a while, so please forgive me if I misunderstood something.
You have interesting questions. "To fight for eJapan, is to fight for its culture, traditions, and citizens."
What is eJapan culture? I cant see original japan articles (written by japan letters). Most of them are english. What i see as japan culture here: some names and pictures (manga, samurai, torii, imperial flag etc.) Everybody can use them, it doesn matter if he is immigrant or not
Traditions, citizens? How many people left who established this country? How much of these citizens are RL japanese? It seems that everybody use english (not japan language!) in communication. So we have more "new immigrants" than any other groups. If we want to fight citizens, we fight for them too, and mainly for immigrants. Because their population is the biggest in Japan.
That's i see after being here.
The community here is made up of people from all over the world coming to eJapan because they have a general curiosity and/or love for Japanese culture, anime, food, language, history, music, mythology. Mostly just simple discussions of our interests in IRC, forums, MoCH events. It has nothing to do with being RL Japanese, none what so ever, what matters is the persons love and/or curiosity of Japanese culture, wanting to learn about it, take part in it, and be apart of the community that enjoys Japanese culture. We are not experts on the culture but we love to learn more about it by taking part in the community and learning from one another.
The PTOers take no part in this community, attempt to force their ways on us, using desperate excuses like we are not RL Japanese, even though that has nothing to do with anything, PTOer or as eJapanese citizens. English is the 2nd most used language in RL Japan, its taught in their schools, and used all over city and company signs, using English in eJapan is not that weird, and most who can write in Japanese often include both an English and Japanese version in their articles, and used in the forums. The language barrier isn't our fault, but more of us know English than Japanese, so we chose Japan's 2nd most used language.
I guess you could say we like to RP being Japanese citizens if you want to put it roughly, but it has nothing to do with what RL country you come from, what does is if you want to take part in the community's curiosity and/or love for Japanese culture. Our community may be small, but that doesn't' give the right to a larger invading population to dictate what should and shouldn't happen in eJapan. We were here first, we have been here longer, and we would love to welcome more Japanese citizens, but not at the cost of our community. So I do not see how this separation will change in till the attacking side stops forcing their ways in dishonest corrupt ways and try to actually join the community.
Tryin to use RL nationality in eRep is as stupid as telling people they can only play Starcraft as Terrans because they aren't RL Protoss or Zerg. It has 0 bearing on a video game, no matter how great or lame. The issue was never about the serb's and their RL nationality. It was/is because they come to eJapan and continue to revel in their serb identity. Serb flags everywhere serb names, serb cultural references, and even serb language only articles.
One of the best things about eJapan was that it was a cosmopolitan community. For all the hate that was spent on Geezus, no one ever really called him a PTOer, he was called plenty of other insulting things, and many with good reason. But his Hungarian ass leads/led Nippon Power, Dai Nippon(and before that it had other japanese themed names) and he at least TRIES to make himself understood in English and he does interact with the community.
What did the serbs do on arrival? Attack a small but active RP based party, take it over and, eventually after much bitching by the rest of eJapan, they renamed it. Did they give it an appropriate name? No I am pretty sure Constantine the great is not a Japanese theme. Did they engage our community in IRC or forums? Nope. They responded time and again "We do lots of damage for eJapan that's enough for you to accept us." When we said, "No, it's not." They didn't care, and some didn't comprehend why. there were some that did get it, but they were the rare exception. The problem is, they wanted their own little eSerbia, and couldn't take control of the existing one in game. So they came here and ruined eJapan, so they could make it their own little eSerbia mk2 and have their own little country.
We used to have a constitution for the country that set out a lot of the things you are trying... guess who was in control of things when it got thrown out by congress.
