Just wanted to mention that I intend to run for CP in May. I would run under MDP but as yet we are waiting to hear from Rylde regarding his plans. If he chooses to run I will defer to him. Until that is settled please regard me as viable.

Short Story?

I've seen what Dennis is proposing and do not disagree with him in any major way. This may seem an odd position from the opposition I agree, but if he's right he's right. Then again, my position is not radically different from his, so it works both ways. I believe the focal point for this election is implementation, organization and simplification.

Implementation

While DMV wishes to go a bit overboard in scrounging funds I propose to continue much the same as now. Voluntary donations have been marvelous. For the record Dennis and I are both major contributors and actually have both given to the same cause without being asked. This is humorous as we seem to both be racing each other to pay some bill or to fund some project.

I do like the bond issue concept and would like to see that accomplished. However I don't want to start a major uproar with any legal beagles out there. This is not something we should be fighting over. I would recruit persons such as Mr. A to help forage in that field. He's one of those people who plow through page after page looking for a jot or tittle out of place. Been that way for years and likely never will change.

Organization

I believe in the best person for the job approach. For the most part I give people their head as regards their posting. Occasionally I see something that a person is better at and push them to achieve more. Also, less frequently, I simply need someone I trust doing a job, even if they are not fully qualified. Trust, responsibility and integrity are paramount qualities in those I work with.

With that I would step out on a limb and pre-release one of my cabinet postings. DMV3 will fill the post of MoD if I'm elected. I originally offered him MoFA as he's done a famous job for Rylde. After all MoD sort of does FA too, and if he feels strongly about our LETO alliance and the tedious task of updating battle orders (pun intended) then I say why not?

FWIW, here is the application form for any and all who would like to apply. None shall be turned away. The difference being is that internship is something earned in my opinion. No one will give you a hard time or ignore you but neither will you get a free ride. The 'work or starve' principal will be in effect. 'Nuff said.

Simplification

This is pretty much self explanatory. We're at war with the US (D'oh) and neither side is interested in negotiation. This is not to say that talks are out of the question, but to be frank I don't expect much. Also LETO/LMA are agreeable and have taken an interest in the Canadian situation. As one might imagine they have their plate full with many counties of the alliance squawking for much needed support.

I would say to you that we are not being ignored. I will gather some links to newspaper articles and possibly take a quote or two from those 'at the top' to help Canadian citizens better understand where we stand internationally. This is one aspect I believe has been overlooked previously. It is hard for you, the public, to gain an overall understanding without some information.

In any regard, my simple plan is to do no drastic change, but hold the line. We will defeat the US by simple determination. Wiping Canada is a drain on their resources. We prevent them from being effective members of Asteria and generally make them look bad. We will carry on.




Bottom Line

Yeah... We're America's hat alright.

War will continue, donations will be necessary, alliance friendships will be forged and your patience will be taxed. There is no point sugar coating things. If you expect me to wave a magic wand and make it all go away you're whipping the wrong mule. However, if you want someone to lead that is as stubborn as a mule, who plods along doing the drudgery of thankless work, then you've come to the right man.

If I'm elected I will do everything in my power to make life miserable for the US. I will fully support our allies and expect the same indulgence from them. Canada will not surrender or bow to pressure from foreign authority.
