[Presidents Office] Congress Analysis Report

Day 2,198, 23:20 Published in Norway Denmark by Joshua Morriseau

Hey everyone! So when I was the MoP it was my job to do this but seems that we don't have one anymore I still thought it would be good to do this still to give everybody a little more insight into our elections. The last time we had Congress elections was in September when we went to the polls to elect just 10 Congress Members. This time around we managed to double that and elect 20 members altogether. Overall we seen a slight decrease in voter turnout from 70 total votes casted in the September elections to 67 this time around. Lets look at the comparisons from September to November first.

September 2013

#1 Teknockatene 23votes or 32.86%

#2 Bondepartiet 15votes or 21.43%

#3 TP 13votes or 18.57%

#4 NCL 11votes or 15.71%

#5 Free Liberty 8votes or 11.43%

November 2013

#1 Teknockatene 19votes or 28.36%

#2 Free Liberty 13votes or 19.40%

#3 TP The Party 12votes or 17.91%

#4 Norwegian Communist League 12votes or 17.91%

#5 Bondepartiet 11votes or 16.42%

So as you can see there was some big changes in these elections as well as a couple surprises. Now lets analyze each individual party and look into some of the factors as to perhaps why their vote percentage has changed from the September elections to the November elections.

Teknockatene
Overall: -4votes or -4.5%

They had a slight drop in these elections which may seem like nothing but if you also add the previous elections which we had before that they also decreased -3.85% which means in the past two elections we have held they have seen their percentage drop by 8.35% or 10 votes which is a significant number. They have however managed to remain as the number 1 party still and send 6 people to Congress this term most of which are well known faces. Their drop in votes could be attributed by the increase in activity in other parties. Could their number keep shrinking for their party which could ultimately see them in another spot than #1 soon?

Free Liberty
Overall: +5votes or + 4.99%

Free Liberty saw the greatest increase since the last elections. They went from #5 in the past elections to #2 this time swapping positions with Bondepartiet. The last time we went into election they had many more members than they do now (25 in September) and have managed to finally transfer their party numbers into votes. Part of the reason could be because Free Liberty has elected 2 Country Presidents in the past two months and has seen many of the new citizens of Norway join their party. But the real question here is if Free Liberty has any staying power and can do this again next election, or if this was a one time thing, time will tell.

Elected Members

Jasper Zuidema
FA LO

TP The Party
Overall: -1vote or -0.66%

The Party has managed to stay in their #3 spot without much effect. One vote is hardly a considerable drop in votes for their party. Despite going into these elections with a considerable drop in party membership (-5) they have still come through like always. The Party has solidified itself as a major party in Norway with many experienced and trusted citizens which have attributed to their Congress performance.

Elected Members
West Bergen
Delirium90
taulen
Chepe Nolon

Norwegian Communist League
Overall: +1vote or +2.2%

Not a major difference here either, the Norwegian Communist League has managed to keep its #4 spot. The NCL has seen some recent changes in leadership lately which one could of thought may of had a positive or negative impact on the party's performance however we can see that it hasn't had that much of an impact on their election performances. Overall their are many known citizens in the NCL but many have been a bit inactive lately. Overall they send 3 people to Congress this month.

Elected Members
WP Attak
Kaname Darkwind
Emanuil 13

Bondepartiet
Overall: -4votes or -5.01%

Bondepartiet has seen the biggest decreases in their numbers since last election going from the #2 spot all the way down to #5. They may be the smallest party but with the same party membership as last time around they didn't manage to hold on. Although their are recognizable faces in their party, many members have decided to take it slow lately which could be why they saw such a decrease in numbers.

Elected Members

Marco Van Tassen

I want to offer my congratulations to all elected whether new or old. It is a good mix of experience and new faces here and ready to make their mark on our nation. I know that together with a strong Congress we can make the best decisions going forward for a strong and healthy Norway. J.M*

So overall we only seen two of the parties have major changes. I hope I didn't make any mistakes in my math (not my best subject) but if I did please just let me know so I can make the changes. As well these are non biased opinions and do not represent the opinions of the government. One thing we didn't really see was campaigning. Would be nice to increase party activity and for party's to start campaigning more and putting out party manifesto's, perhaps next time!

As I was going through the list of elected officials though it got me thinking to when we used to vote on the individual rather than the party. They both have good benefits I think. By voting for individuals its always good to see personally what you manage to accomplish on your own and with voting for party's it makes it harder for PTOers to get elected. Anyways let me know what you think below and why! Should we revert to the old system of voting for individuals or continue voting for the party?

As always don't forget to V,S&S!

Friendly Regards,

Joshua Morriseau
