NSC - the Norma Normans non Normata*

Every Military Unit in this game worth its salt has a set of values to which it “normalizes”. Speaking for my own MU (Easy Company), our “norm” is to fight strictly according to the most urgent priorities as set by the eUS government. Other MU’s have as their “norm” to always support a particular eNation, or to always seek Resistance Wars, or to help MU members pursue True Patriot medals. There are many different “norms” to which the various MU’s standardize their behavior.

The National Security Council of the eUnited States Government is and ought to be the “norma normans” - a latin expression which means, “the norm which norms”.

It should be a constant consideration of each Military Commander to weigh the immense value of “norming” his/her Daily Orders and/or Combat Orders in accordance with the priorities set by the NSC.

NSC maintains four channels of information flow in order to help “norm” MU’s who wish to express loyalty to the elected government.

First and most frequently updated is the information available in any IRC chat room that is running the “Sovereign” bot. This bot responds to the command “@home” by instantly providing the latest set of priority battles. These priorities reflect the up-to-the-minute desires of the President, his Foreign Affairs department, the Department of Defense, and the battle strategy being employed by the National Security Council. Ask your MU commander to request access to Sovereign if it is not currently running in your MU’s IRC room.

The second most frequently updated information is the “Situation Room” in the eUS Forum. This is where a daily information thread reflects the current thinking of the Government and is an appropriate place to raise a question or comment, suggest a possible strategy, and etc. Because some of the information which is able to be discussed in the Situation Room is of a sensitive nature, access is granted by request only.

The third most frequently update source for battle direction is the newspaper published by the Department of Defense. This is a very easy-to-find resource for following the direction of the NSC.

Last, the NSC keeps in touch with most of the significant Military Units via ingame messaging. When there are important changes to battle priorities, message goes out to the Commanders via PM in hopes that the “norma normans” will do its norming.

The Department of the Interior, more commonly referred to as the DoI, is dedicated to helping our new and lower-level eAmerican players via a range of assistance programs. The DoI is dedicated both to fostering the growth of individual players and to helping develop a strong player base for the long-term health of the eAmerican community. The DoI currently has three actuve programs: Meals on Wheels, the Moving Cost Program, and Bank Up 2 Strength Up (BU2SU).

I thought of the idea for BU2SU many months back when I was a staff member at the DoI working for the Tank Up 2 Rank Up program. While Quartermastering for the program, I realized there were some counterproductive elements at work: we were handing over top-of-the line tanks to D1-D2 members and encouraging them go ahead and fight, causing them to rank up too quickly. When they arrived to the next division, they quickly realized that their strength was too low to be able to meaningfully contribute to the fights.

I thought, why not get straight to the point. What do new players need the most, and what does eAmerica need from them the most? Simple: we need players to be as high in strength as possible compared to their level. New players need gold for training ground upgrades.

A program that gives gold needs to be strict and all based on incentives. Incentives to do more, to get involved, and most importantly to stay low in Level. BU2SU is aimed at D1-D2 only. The amount of gold that can be received is based on how involved the applicant wants to get. Applicants get more gold for being present regularly in political party chat channels on IRC & voting in political party primaries. Applicants also get more gold if they have a job with their political party, Military Unit, or the eUS Government.

The job of a Vice President in our country has been one of the few ones that has varied from administration to administration. Some Vice Presidents have served as advisors with others running their own pet projects with the President’s approval. As VP, I have worked in a supporting capacity to the President and the administration, serving and filing in various roles as needed.

With the dissolving of CoT, this month was a critical one in terms of Foreign Affairs and so far, we’ve been upto the challenge. As we regain our states - and our pride- we continue to explore new directions for our country internationally while keeping relations strong with many of our former allies. Militarily, there have been a few hiccups where people have fought in battles that we intended to lose, but we generally seem to be on the same wavelength now, with a minimum of drama caused and no butthurt feelings on either side of the equation which is always a plus.

The big focus this month was on the domestic front, and so far, we’ve performed admirably on that front. Interior has expanded considerably this month, with a larger number of people participating in it and requesting stuff from its programs as they continue fighting the good fight as Americans. The newly formed Department of Human Services intends to work on increasing the fun aspect in the game for us as citizens while Education under Alex Coin has performed quite well so far. We succeeded, once again, in ATO taking the Gipper’s party, rendering him toothless and causing him to move again to a sixth party to rebuild, causing a considerable loss in members for him.

Its been a pretty decent start so far and hopefully we, as a country, are able to build upon it as move towards the latter half of this Presidential month. I’d like to request all eUS citizens to please check government orders regarding battles and for ATO purposes so that we can ensure another PTO free Congress this month.
