On Taking Responsibility
Garmr
Dear fellow citizens,
I could not have returned in a more critical time of our nations history. Our nation is critically ill.
An old African proverb says "When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside cannot hurt you". For us, that will be a utopia far beyond our reach.
On critical positions in our nation severe misconduct has taken place, negatively impacting the nation as a whole up to this very day. I will share with you just a few of these incidents, as I am afraid there are many more I have not found out about yet.
1. Creating a new official irc channel for eNetherlands
Country President van Spijck took the liberty to create a new irc channel. It was absolutely not in his right as a president to do so. And his reason?
Since our former National irc channel #eunl has been taken over by ElGorro and his group, it is no longer our National channel.
That is correct, someone he did not like had more power than him. Very good reason, especially since the constitution clearly mentions that the government is only for day-to-day management.
2. A CoC voting against his own impeachment
At the time CoC Piet Heyn voted against termination of himself as CoC. Now this might be perfectly legal according to the law, it is quite a sad move that I have not ever seen before. Every polite person would have abstained. His vote wasn't even needed to gain a majority.
3. Disbanding a foreign embassy
Country President van Spijck took the liberty to disband the eBelgian embassy - again without any legal foundation for his power to make such a decision. The reason, again, is because someone he did not like became the ambassador.
4. Absence of all financial accountability
Despite several valid requests (here and here), certain elements in congress willfully break the law because it is quite clearly stated in the eNL book of law that the government must provide full openness on all financial matters without any possible exception.
5. The government does not have to comply with the law
Yes, really. My name is not Garmr Orwell. There are people who actually vote that our government does not have to comply to the law I just stated in my previous point. Disturbingly enough, nearly all of these people take part in the government.
The following congress representatives feel our government should do whatever it wants without any regard for the laws upheld by our country for many years:
Pieper126
Zeeuwsmeisje
Shibitah
frederik hendrik
FrankieVB
Piet Heyn
Weekstrom
van Spijck
Trannsvaal
RikW
Do you feel this is normal, or even good for our nation? Then close your eyes and remain asleep. But to those of you who can not live like this anymore, who are sick and tired from fighting for what almost seemed a lost cause, I have one thing to say.
Get mad and viva la Garmrolución.
Comments
I mass-messaged the entire nation because I feel this is a grave subject. Think of that what you will.
You did? Too bad I didn't receive a message.
I messaged everyone that was member of a party, it was kind of late and didn't have any tools to effectively search for others. My apologies.
It seems I skipped the entire BG party now I look back at it.
you probably did, i haven't received any messsage either
You're mental man
Also physical. How many erep players can deadlift 240kg?
Chew is right, this is a mental case. 🙁
Ad hominem ad infinitum because there is little else to bring up against this article.
Deserves a million votes.
Just a touch of friendly advice:
The people have and continue to vote for GPN consistently. I wouldn't expect to get far with a downright hostile viewpoint towards the dominating party as your first act on returning.
Shhh, stay quiet or you might turn into a ''enemy'' of the ruling party, like Fhaemita. Luckily Garmr doesn't need approval anymore (yet this message is thoughful, correct and should worry every eDutch citizen), as he has already proven his worth many times before, more so than GPN could possibilily ever do..
But Aries is right with his advise, alienating half of the population won't help in getting elected or solving the internal problems eNL currently has...
Certainly those people I supposedly alienate have no trouble at all with alienating the other half of the population for months..
I did not mention GPN at all, just individuals.
He's back!
I really can't disagree with anything in this article, except perhaps for the part about the eBelgian embassy, which could profit from some nuance.
Nuance is for losers innit
pieper126 is http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/7942365
Voted!!
I put it to you, how are you any better? You call yourself an Emperor, Boss, etc on many occasions... You claim to want to help eNL as some kind of dictator that we should all worship according to your shouts and posts...
Even the title of this artile reads: The Emperor speaks back.
All I see is an old erep player who is bored and wants to sturr things up and maybe grab some power in the process...
I'm not saying I agree with current state of affairs... I'm just wondering if you would be any better for our country...
I speak up about what I see as wrong, I don't claim to have a magic solution at all and urge people to vote for me. But it has to be said and people have to be informed.
this article is only made to falsely accuse the gpn and in special van spijck. That we are doing everything wrong.
I did not know that garmr had a personal alliance with el gorro and his mates because this article is far from impartial.
el gorro will be happy you are back at least he get one vote more not that it matters because he needs around 20 votes to make him president again because of his last presidential term has ended more then catastrophic
I did not mention GPN or any party once. I have shown facts and facts alone, which cannot be said from your comment.
Now I think of it, I was the main evil enemy during the long term friendship of ElGorro and GPN. So that's that.
you made clear in point 2 and 3 that you talked about piet heyn as if he is dumb to vote for himself because he want to keep on being CoC
and you try to set van speyck in a bad daylight so you think it will cost him votes i hoop for you it will be the oppesit
I did indeed find it of poor taste to do so. I put anyone in a bad daylight if I feel they did something wrong. So far nobody has shown anything remotely resembling a fact that disproves my article.
Garmr, they see everyone who is against the Captain as a friend of the Monkey. Its all black and white in eNL 😉
i must see that you are the one started accusing van speyck and you had a few who supported you and the rest joined van speyck
get you ass back in blijdorp, before you get shot XD
1. Since some people want to have all the power they felt it was needed to kick people who don't agree with them, that is why a new channel was started as stated before and discussed before, but those arguments you leave out of here, because that won't help you will it.
2. I voted against it, because I as congressmember found it strange and unworthy that an MoNC was started on assumptions and false arguments. But you also won't want to show that, since I am the bad guy here right.
3. The ambasy isn't disbanded only closed since the guy they wanted as ambasador has been negative against our comunity and still am, he has all the right to do so.
4. lets not make it easier for enemies to see our financial situation, especially since we still have a leak in congress that hasn't been solved.
5. As I have stated in point 1 some people just want the power and it seems they will do anything to achieve that. I will say this about that, the pot calling the kettle black
It's no attack against GPN, then why are all the people in your list GPN, because you can't seem to be able to win normally you have to do these kind of things. What about the rest of the congress and the other things that happened, or are those not important enough for you to show?
i see 3 members of VVN in that list....
and those are the persons voting against following the law.
1. There have been many irc disputes before, which have all been peacefully settled.
2. Fair enough, I only came across the vote while I was searching for another vote and did not look into it further. Still, it wasn't needed to vote.
3. Disbanded or closed, what's the difference. Fhaemita isn't negative against our community as a while, just in dispute with vS and some others.
4. Then change the law. As long as it is the law, it must be followed.
5. Asking MoF for clarity isn't a power-grab in my book.
I'm not the historian of NL, so I did indeed pick the things out that I found appalling. I would absolutely love it to see a counter article.
If only you had taken responsibility while you were CP we would be far from the current situation I'd guess...
You keep insisting on bringing something up and then refraining from elaborating on it. Elaborate or be silent.
You know damn well what i mean. Don't play innocence as you're not.
But since you ask and want it in the open; You were the one responsible for the huge overspending of budget and the instant loss off large amounts of money due to which we have lost the majority of our reserves as a country and are for instance not able to provide a decent amount off supplies or sign MPP's so we can more easily fight. Not the idiotic amount of supplies that was given earlier, started under supervision of gov's before yours, bet better then the current ones that are not even paid for by gov but by two individual players afaik.

I recall the issue you speak of now. I was MoD at the time and we spent 500 gold in a battle which was nearly won. Private spending from epix, mitch rapp and myself far exceeded the gov spending, if you want to talk about individual players paying for things. I threw in 200g out of my own pocket to pay for a couple hard hitting guys.
But alright, I indeed have spent a large sum once. I've also contributed to 20 consecutive months of sound financial policy before that as MoE, MoF, MoSC, MoR and MoESCR.
No that ain't it. You were CP. You're fifth term and you know damn well what happened. Don't try to bend the facts. And if you insist on the fact you don't know then you really are a fool I guess and then I just hope you never get any power again here in eNL. People may make a mistake of course, but if they don't learn they musn't be alowed to get a second chance.
Making mistakes with personal finances is sad but doesn't criple a country. And i know a few players that on a constant basis pay for the country daily ever since so people are able to play. That should, i guess, not be needed, at least not to that extend, if you and a few govs before you're last one acted more wisely. But you're gov gave the final blow 🙁
You're talking bullshit. You were only 6 months old at that time, so what would you know about the financial policies the years before that. And whatever the fucking trivialities I might be wrong on, that move did not financially cripple the country, it hardly harmed it at all.
Garmr, stop abusing my name when we've never even spoken. You don't know me or what I stand for and just make assumptions based on what party I'm in. Is your world all black and white? Cause then I just feel sorry for you.
What assumption? I said you voted against a proposal to force the cabinet to follow the law. I'm assuming that it is indeed your stance, or is it not?

Assumption: The following congress representatives feel our government should do whatever it wants without any regard for the laws upheld by our country.
It is assumption. You did not talk to Shibitah, so you assume what are her reasons for it. Assume that she feels that "government should do whatever it wants without any regard for the laws upheld by our country". Also that discussion about finances has already taken place and the reasons were clearly stated there, Either you are ignorant or for the sake of your article you exaggarate the matters so it will fit your assumption. You did not write "These people voted against the proposal that the Government should provide Congress a monthly report of the MM project.", insteed you write that they don't want to "follow the law" on purpose. The law states that if it's not in best interest of the country they can make a decision to withhold information. People voted, you don't like it and so you list them like "See? These people simply dont want to follow the law without any reason" (ignoring the reasons althogheter) like a common flamer. It's hilarious.
Nayu, not following the law for any reason is still not following the law. Change the law if you feel it is wrong, but always follow it.
He only stated that you voted against, which isnt an assumption as you can see here -> http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=11850&start=10#p155677
He says: "The following congress representatives feel our government should do whatever it wants without any regard for the laws upheld by our country." That's a whole lot more that just saying who voted against.
Voting against is voting against the laws 😉
The Netherlands saviour has arrived! I fear this has happened time and time again where a former politician has returned to make his "big come back," but please don't make it at the people's expense.
