The Irish Military Party (IMP)
Death and Taxes
Hello everyone. Today I am pleased to announce the official launch of Ireland's latest political entity, the Irish Military Party, or IMP. http://www.erepublik.com/en/party/irish-military-party-4478/1 (I can hear Bhane groan from across the ocean). But actually in fairness, this political party has a right to exist because it brings into focus something none of the other parties, indeed, perhaps no party in eRepublik encapsulates, and that is the game itself.
Pretty much every other party concentrates on whatever role-playing personae they wish to espouse. For example, the Independent Labour Party are a haven for terrorists who insist on role-playing their failed various communist and socialist mantras. Then you have pretty much every other party espousing Irish national virtues such as insisting on a unified Ireland or having Cork as the capital.
We at the IMP consider these values to be quite charming in an antiquated way, but by and large irrelevant in how this game actually works. In fact, the majority of parties in eRepublik, and therefore the majority of governments, enact legislation and wars that bear no resemblance to what is actually happening in the game, or the military and political situations surrounding them.
At the IMP, we intend to focus on game mechanics and the reality of current and future world alliances. As we don't feel constrained by various role-playing agendas, this means that we can put forward policies that maximise Ireland's potential, regardless of our size.
We also believe that in understanding how the game actually works, we can maximise the potential of each individual, and therefore maximise the collective.
In essence:
We believe in a national army. This is the Irish Army. As the IA and its commanders are sworn to follow the orders of the CP, we believe that the IA should receive the sole focus, benefit and largesse of the Irish government.
While we understand and appreciate how game mechanics are used to gain individual and national goals, we draw the line on PTO's (political take overs) both on party and on a national basis.
We believe that every country in eRepublik has a right to exist on the map, and that permawipes are an unacceptable face of eRepublik. When we are in a boss alliance, we intend to show the mercy, understanding and compassion that they failed so patently to do.
I hereby open our doors and invite you all to join. Your opinions and direction are more than welcome.
I am, and remain,
Death & Taxes

Voted for GoT.
In reality though the largest party in eIreland is a game reality focussed one and has been for more than two years now.
Thank you Ian. If we get into the top 5 I look forward to negotiations on a power sharing platform.
Ian isn't wrong
Shame you back-pedaled at the end there Mal:
"every country in eRepublik has a right to exist on the map" This is just an RP fantasy
In Erepublik having regions in not a right, it must be earned.
Nah, Sweet, every country has a right to exist on the map.............for a suitable price. I've seen what Poland did to NL, and that is plain wrong. A smart government exacts the maximum benefit rather than giving an impossible demand.
NL sucks because they elect van_s all the time.
elGorro was last CP and did a good job. Unfortunately Arseguard decided to spurn their advances again...
I tried to set up a party like this back in the day but it didn't stick.
Goodluck.
Thanks Hank, you might as well join so...

change the logo pls
OK Sorted
I can't read your articles with all the gif animation. Makes my eyes and head hurt.
Damn, we thought you had epilepsy...........apologies in advance for the poor taste and non-PC virtues of this post. Normal PC values will return shortly.
FASCISTS
I'M GOING TO MAKE AN ANTI-MILITARY PARTY
AMP vs IMP should be fun
When someone in ireland start talk about mechanicswhen they need an excuse for a treason like kunts do it often.
So Malbekh who openly defend Conway who openly betrayed ireland and as someone who had a role in IA insulted every true irish patriot in Irish Army.
Malbekh who defend Sweet's treason and bending over to brits without even trying to liberate any of regions before NAP.
Malbekh who thinks members of irish army should be exploited and robbed from what they earn.
No limits in insults this hypocrite monkey can give to Irish Army....
Malbekh you are getting training golds to defend kunts crap.
Use that strenght you like to brag about on battlefield and shut the fck up....
in short behold the birth of kunts 3 party....well kunts 2 party after boru merge his party with original kunt party
Please return what you stole. You are a theif.

Damn!
What happened with my comment?
Is it too much to ask to be notified when comments is removed?
a FP at least would be nice!
And Jacko....NEVER! I WILL NEVER RETURN IT! YOUR SOUL IS MINE!
HA HA HA HAAAAAA! MIIIIIIIINE!
You'll be pleased to know that I have been made Co2 of the Irish Army, proving yet again that nobody believes you, nor pays attention to you, nor gives a damn about you.
Good....so i can continue my quest without you replying?
Be nice and ignore Kurgan from this time forward.
And bragging for being rewarded by kunts for defending kunts and their crap....not much of achievement.
Your fellow kunts Seanan appointed you...not irish army...
And Seanan accepted proven traitor conway back in.
See the pattern?
Kunts use government property for their personal use...
Malbekh..remember your words....i am irrelevant here
So no reply to Kurgan comments or you will just look silly and stupid
You can continue your role-playing as much as you like, just stay out of my sight and get off my threads and posts. Do that and I'm happy to ignore you.
On who's authority you became 2nd commander in Ireland's official MU? I didn't see any article about any change in the command structure....
Are you in the IA? No. So, no opinion then as how would you know what's going on?
Malbekh.....i will never leave you alone....you proposed yourself for a new Kurgan's toy and i accepted your offer.
Actually you gave me material for a new article.
That will entertain me for short period of time.
New article with the same BS. You could try writing something constructive and helpful, but you don't have it in you, do you? Now if you don't mind I'm kind of busy, what with a political party to run, running through some admin with the IA, conversing with a few CP's and MU leaders around the world and dumping a ton of damage for our allies against their enemies.
Let me know if you need any more crayons
I've been considering setting up something like this myself for the past few weeks.
Glad you got there before me.
Glad to have you on board
good luck mal
Good luck Mal. Voted.
reminds me of the MDP 🙂
Good.

Eh, surely pretty much every party is the military party at this stage?
An no, not really. They shroud themselves with populist dogma and mantra to attract members and then stagnate into nothingness. Consider that there have been no political party pieces in the last month promoting values or ideas.
At least with this party, we all know that I'm active, have a good/bad reputation, and have the ambition to drive things forward.
Said mantra is a result of a fundamental truth you seem to have missed about the game: The military is the state now for all real intents and purposes. The economic module destructed itself long ago.
Brian, I'm aware that the military module is where all the emphasis is, however, it cannot have gone beyond your notice that politicians make the decisions about who we go to war with, what treaties we make and negotiations with our alliances. Most of this is done on a role-playing basis, such as nationalism. Have a look at our relations with the UK for example, is our relationship based on game mechanics or nationalism/jingoism?
I am constantly looking at our military and diplomatic situation, yes.
No, it doesn't make technical sense to be in an opposite alliance to Britain, nor does it make social sense either: most of our cultural contact is with Britain and other Europeans.
But hey, when I thought we should join TWO (when the alliance wasn't fragmented by Serbian BS), people had a hissy fit and they have the right to. A country should have an objective of existence.
Hey Brian, that probably came across as a dig, it wasn't, sorry. I'm being very generalised here. But actually, you made my point for me. It's time we eGrew up and started looking at the game situation rather than the RL one
Incidentally I know of at least one example of an eIrish party that has had policy on eUK that was expressly game mechanic/strategy based and expressly against RL nationalist motivations for national policy.
I think the dimension that you may be missing however, is that like it or not our current foreign affairs situation has been shaped by history of RL nationalist sentiments, such that even if we wanted to join TWO or buddy up with the eUK, the in-game history has built up a strong resistance which is totally independent of the original sentiments that took us down this path.
Growing up and looking at the game situation means recognizing these realities, even if in retrospect the path we took wasn't perfect.
Oh great... yet another party to politically split up our nation even more. Guaranteeing that even more players will be disenfranchised as yet another party is on the list to NOT be in the top 5.
You should have abandoned that ridiculous Kurgan party before anyone joined, so it would be deleted. You should have never created it in the first place. If you want this Military party, you should have ran for a PP position of an existing party with articles espousing your platform of re-branding it to this concept.
WTB "delete all but 5 parties in a nation this small."
Bhane, in this regard you are completely hypocritical. If you really believed in joined up thinking, you'd be a proud member of Irish Army, the national army of Ireland. The last thing we need are too many small MU's that don't coordinate damage. So get off your high horse and join the IA and don't give me any boo-hoo stories about how much your MU means to you. Move on with the times.
The IA repeatedly turned me down, years ago. I was a self-supplied supporter of the IA, but then policy changed. I was told commune participation became mandatory, so I am no longer allowed to be part. I still follow eIrish interests for battle orders, and fight by their side... even if they don't want me in their ranks.
That's shocking Bhane. Honestly. Let me get back to yo...
@Bhane... where it's just yourself, a well informed veteran who knows where to find important orders, you're fine imo for whatever it's worth. Ofcourse my argument has always been that when it comes to the greater soldiering population, a single MU given our national population is infinitley better than a bunch of personalized rag-tag brigades for communication purposes alone.
When it comes to political parties however the concept of consolidation applies for a totally different reason which Bhane has pointed out: only the top 5 are fully election enfranchised. But ultimately if the members of a party know that they are being excluded from certain representations, then that's their choice and there's nothing wrong with that...
Btw Bhane, I was in the same boat as you regarded the IA at one time "long" ago. The IA was too authoritarian for my taste which was a motivating factor for me getting together with EA members and creating EAMU (EA's military unit - formerly).
Just FYI the IA is much more open these days and resembles what EAMU was a lot imo. It's flexible toward avies and working situations, and doesn't hold it's members to the standard of being "professional soldiers". Realizing that the important function of the IA is to be and inclusive, flexible, and organized military unit for dispensing clear national orders, the IA is a different beast than it used to be.
Certainly agree with Ian regarding the Army. Although you must have gotten an ex-ICA commander talking to you Bhane back then, it would have been only at the very beginning. Myself and Nephworks ran it with the "If you follow State Orders, you are part of the Army".
Great idea, voted and GL o7
